The media could not be loaded. Tested this canopy in strong sustained winds during late evening hour. The offshore winds were strong I'd estimate a constant 25 to 30 mph winds gusting to 40 mph. I was able to put it up in these strong winds by myself without too much difficulty. Make sure you pack the bags full of sand and lay them out tell the canopy is fully stretched on the ground. Then start setting up the poles, probably best in the front first, then the back. It's has built-in bungee ties, nice thick aluminum poles that fold up, is well designed (for strong winds) and well made, and everything is easy to store in a nice bag.

We recently got the WEKAPO Beach Shade Canopy for our family beach trips, and we absolutely love it! Here's what we especially like: Easy Setup: This canopy was a breeze to set up, even for someone like me who isn't very handy. The poles connect easily with bungee cords, and the sandbags are a great way to keep it secure in the wind. No more struggling with complicated instructions! Spacious Shade: The 10x10 size provides plenty of shade for our whole family. We can comfortably fit under it with chairs, towels, and all our beach gear. Great Sun Protection: The UPF 50+ fabric is a lifesaver on hot sunny days. We can relax under the canopy without worrying about getting burned. Durable Design: The canopy feels well-made and sturdy. We got the WEKAPO Beach Shade Canopy to shade the brutal sun prevalent during the Southern Utah summers. Outdoor concerts and other events are enjoyable again with this SPF 50 shade. The canopy's setup is designed with simplicity in mind, allowing quick deployment so you can focus on enjoyment and relaxation rather than complicated assembly. The process involves connecting the four (4) aluminum shock poles with a built-in bungee cord, filling sandbags (for the beach) or staking the bungee cords (on solid ground), stretching the Spandex® canopy fabric, and standing the poles upright. The result is a quick, hassle-free setup that even beach novices can accomplish. There’s even an included sand scoop for quickly filling the integral fabric sand weights. One of the standout features is its stability and windproof design. Reinforced square corners and thick aluminum poles help the canopy stay stable in windy conditions. Extra-large drawstring sandbags provide additional grounding on the beach, giving you confidence to enjoy your beach/outdoors time without worrying about sudden gusts of wind toppling your shade. The spacious 10’x10’ interior offers ample room for you and your loved ones, thanks to the higher poles. So this tent was not compatible with the winds on the Texas gulf beach we visited. The current conditions were red flag which mean's heavy surf conditions. We followed instructions to and tips but still struggled due to the wind resistance. It was my husband and I attempting to put it together. Luckily my dad came and was able to help secure enough of the poles and bury the bags to finally secure. Im not sure if i had it backwards but this was just super hard and we had to secure it with extra stakes to give it more stability. Overall once it was up. It did provide a good amount of shade. We go down to the Corpus Christi area every year and while this did a good job and takes up minimal space. Im still going to look for an easier set up that really requires 1-2 people.

I'm happy with this WEKAPO beach canopy. It's big enough to comfortably fit four people in the shade and does a good job blocking the sun. The 10x10 size works well for my family. It's put together pretty well. The seams are welded, glued, or sewn and seem durable. The material filters out UV nicely (UPF 50+). Just know that while it repels water, it's not totally waterproof. My only complaint is about the poles. We camp at Padre Island Seashore a lot and it's always windy. You definitely need to use all 4 poles or it won't hold up. I wish the poles were stronger though - I could see them wearing out quickly in high winds. Overall, I still think it's a good beach tent, especially for the size. The included sand shovel and pegs are useful too. If you want a nice roomy shelter from the sun, it's worth checking out. Just don't expect the poles to last forever if you use it somewhere windy all the time.
