I’ve bought a few of these Waykar dehumidifiers over the years for different parts of my home, and they’ve always worked great. It’s simple to set up and does exactly what it’s supposed to—keeps the humidity comfortable and helps reduce moisture. Surprising how much it collects! I really like the timer feature, which makes it easy to control how long it runs. Draining it is also straightforward, whether you use a hose (which I dont) or empty it manually. My only complaint is that it sometimes has a high pitch whistle while it's running, not overly loud though. Other than that I would recommend it and buy it again. It's easy to empty and doesn't need to be emptied often. It doesn't produce any kind of smell and it absolutely reduces the moisture in the air. I purchased this to combat the high humidity in our home, especially after the recent heavy rain we've been getting. The device is small and quiet, but does a fantastic job removing moisture. I set it on a countertop and used the included hose to drain into a sink, so I don't have to worry about emptying the tank. It's been working flawlessly and I couldn't be more pleased with its performance! Edit: The device stopped working after a couple months (I suspect an issue with the condenser since it was still moving air but not dehumidifying), but customer support was extremely responsive and quick to resolve things for me. I'm confident that my issue was a one-off, so knowing that the manufacturer stands behind their product and makes a great effort to support and serve its customers means a lot. I purchased two of these because description seemed like what I was looking for. I've used dehumidifiers for years and bought these to replace two that had stopped working after several years. I recommend you look for another one if you want something that will be useful. The water tank is very small, plus it is very inconvenient to empty. Won't even stand up. It spills water in the floor ever time the tank is taken out. Design is horrible, plus it fills up to the rim before the shut off. Returned and am purchasing something better. ... show more

Our 600+ sq ft garage had condensation build up on the windows, and since we store dry goods and tools in the garage, decided to purchase a dehumidifier. Did some research and decided on this unit. So far, it has been working non stop (auto stops at 45% humidity, adjustable level) for over a month. Very quiet, and I use the external drain tube leading to a 5 gallon bucket in case I need to let it run for a week or so without monitoring. Has been pulling roughly 1qt to 1/2gallon of moisture in one day, depending on humidity. Great purchase! ... show more

    • It's a very good unit but the pump is noisy

I liked everything about this product, including the quality and valuable functions of running it automatically. Yet, I subtracted one star from its score because, after a few weeks of running the automatic pump, I noticed the unit got louder and louder when the pump turned on (as other people commented about the water pump). I got it reasonably quiet again by placing a strong nylon tie-down strap around the middle section. Now, it's extremely quiet again. It makes me think that the outside plastic container rubs against itself which causes the unit to get noisier over time. I wish the manufacturer would add an esthetically pleasing nylon tie-down or possibly add silicone filling material in between the joints to solve this problem. Because without the rap around I put around the unit, it was getting extremely loud. So loud, everyone could hear it kick on from the other rooms of the house. This is an easy fix.
