The blind itself is nice, well made, the color is just fine. I had anticipated swapping it in for a 2" wood slatted blind in my den. I like the cordless option and it fits my window fine. I was not really thinking ahead enough in that it really blocks out more light than i wanted. With the traditional blind I can tilt the slats to allow a measured amount of light in, even with it opened just halfway. This one blocks out all light (duh) so I think it is great just not one that suits my needs or preference. ... show more

We put this in our bedroom, in place of blinds that we had in a window over the bed. It's lovely and looks so much nicer, but I wouldn't call it blackout. It certainly does limit the light that gets through, but I consider "blackout" to be no light penetration, or almost none. Very little light comes through, though there is leakage along the sides (I should've measured a bit better). It looks great, works well, and was easier to install than I expected.
