Description

The Waterpik Aquarius water flosser (WP-667) is designed for a wide range of users seeking a more effective and convenient way to maintain daily gum health and oral hygiene. It is especially ideal for people with braces, implants, bridges, or crowns, as it helps clean areas that traditional floss often cannot reach. Those with sensitive or bleeding gums can benefit from its adjustable pressure settings, allowing them to start at the lowest level and gradually increase intensity as gum health improves. It is also a great alternative for individuals who find traditional string floss difficult or cumbersome to use. The unit is family-friendly, featuring 7 color-coded tips so multiple users can safely share the same device, and it is suitable for children ages 6+ when used under adult supervision, beginning on the lowest setting. Designed for convenience, it requires just one minute per day, making it easy to incorporate into even the busiest routines. The 7 specialty flossing tips address a variety of dental needs (orthodontics, periodontal pockets, dental work). The 1-minute timer with 30-second pacer ensures thorough water flossing of all areas, and a removable water reservoir with flip-top lid makes it easy to fill. The special 360-degree rotating tip handle easily reaches your whole mouth, even back teeth. This electric plug-in countertop model measures 4.7 x 10.35 x 3.8 with tip at the base (WxHxD inches). The Waterpik Aquarius water flosser removes up to 99.9% of plaque bacteria that causes gingivitis, bleeding gums, cavities, and bad breath from treated areas and is clinically proven up to 2X as effective as string floss for removing bacterial plaque and improving gum health. Waterpik is the 1 water flosser brand recommended by dental professionals, and the Waterpik Aquarius water flosser is accepted by the American Dental Association (ADA) for safety and effectiveness. Your How-To Guide to This Does-It-All Water Flosser (and select Waterpik Models Comparison)
Color: White Number of Items: 1
ASTONISHING (to me, anyway) HEALTH UPDATE (2/19/2017): WATERPIKING SAVES LIVES, MAYBE YOURS! REALLY! I MEAN IT! (I know, it sounds crazy...) I finally broke down and got a Waterpik when my dentist told me I had periodontal pockets and would need a deep cleaning. I read somewhere that with regular use of a Waterpik, I might just be able to reverse those pockets and eliminate that need for an uncomfortable deep cleaning. I gave it a three-month try and it worked! No deep cleaning needed! Also, I spoke with my primary care physician about plaque, and learned that there are two more (one of them could save your life) benefits to Waterpiking regularly. See my UPDATE at the end of this review. I have noticed that others have asked a lot of the questions that I had early on inside of their reviews and in the customer questions section. So I thought I would gather up all of the answers and put them in one review. I hope this will be your Guide to Using Your New Aquarius Waterpik. If you do find this review helpful, please click "Yes" below, I'd appreciate it! HOW DO I AVOID MAKING MY GUMS BLEED WHEN I START USING MY WATERPIK? It is not in the instructions anymore, but according to my husband, Waterpik used always to tell users to start by using the lowest "1" pressure setting and then to turn the pressure up one notch per day to get your gums adjusted to the Waterpik's pressure gradually. If you do this, you should be on "10", or whatever setting you prefer, in no time and with no gum bleeding. HOW DO I KEEP FROM SPLASHING WATER EVERYWHERE? There are two simple tricks never to see a water splash again. First, don't turn the Waterpik on until it is in your mouth. Second, keep your mouth closed except a slight parting of your lips to allow water to drain out of your mouth, while you use your Waterpik. That should take care of it! THE ON/OFF SWITCH ON THE HANDLE IS HARD TO USE. You will, unfortunately, just have to get the hang of how to master that switch. It seems to be a matter to where you apply pressure on the switch. It seems to work best when you apply pressure close to the center, rather than from the bottom or the top, in my limited experience. However, in the meantime, if you get frustrated, just use the on/off button on the face of the machine as a shortcut. WHY DO THEY SEND SEVEN TIPS BUT ONLY PROVIDE SLOTS FOR TWO? First of all, you only receive four different types of tips. The total number of tips adds up to seven because Waterpik provides three identical Classic Jet Tips (see below for descriptions of each). Most people choose only one style of tip for daily use (possibly two if you have periodontal pockets). The second slot can also be used for a partner or house-guest. WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE FOUR STYLES OF TIPS INCLUDED? "CLASSIC JET TIP" (you get 3) To identify it: it is the only tip style that you get three of. Classic Jet Tips are for general use and replace flossing for people without crowns or other more-serious-than-fillings dental work. (For people with that sort of dental work, use the "Plaque Seeker Tip", described below.) Use the Classic Jet Tip unless you have a special reason to choose one of the others. Rather than include links to the replacement tips in this review, I recommend that you just do a search for "Waterpik JT-100E". That way, there's no risk that this review will be filled with dead links. If you search by the tip's name, you will probably get results that include tips that are not compatible with your Aquarius. So I have provided the actual model numbers of each tip so that you can search for the right one. If any tip that you want is not available on Amazon, you can buy it directly from Waterpik dot com. (Note For Ultra Buyers: the Ultra uses the same model tips as the Aquarius, provided here.) "TOOTHBRUSH TIP" (quantity: 1, but that is plenty for most) To identify it: it looks like a tiny toothbrush. This tip allows you to brush your teeth and Waterpik at the same time. As efficient as that sounds, there must be a reason why they included 3 Classic Jet Tips and only 1 Toothbrush Tip. I am guessing the reason is that this Brush Tip looks more efficient than it is -- especially if you have an effective toothbrush like a Sonicare. Search for "Waterpik TB-100E" to find compatible replacement tips. "PLAQUE SEEKER TIP" (quantity: 1) (my daily use tip) To identify it: look for fewer bristles than are on the Toothbrush Tip. The Plaque Seeker Tip is designed for use with crown, implants, and bridges, as well as for general use. So if you have any dental work more serious than fillings in your mouth (i.e. are you over 30?), you can just use this tip as your daily tip all around your mouth. "Removes bacteria and debris from hard to reach areas around dental restorations." Search for "Waterpik PS-100E" to buy refills. "PIK POCKET TIP" (quantity: 1) To identify it: it looks like the Classic Jet Tip but with an extra pointy attachment at the end. This one is for people who have periodontal pockets or furcations. It can "deliver medicaments" except that neither the Aquarius nor the Ultra is designed for that (they don't have "Medicament Reservoirs"), or just rinse deep below the gumline. Few people will choose to use the Pik Pocket as their daily tip. You would use this before or after you do your primary Waterpik rinse, and probably just on the areas that need it. This tip is supposed to be used only with the machine set to a pressure of "1", so don't forget to turn the pressure down before using it. Search for "PP-100E" to get compatible replacement tips. OTHER WATERPIK TIPS YOU CAN BUY ON AMAZON COMPATIBLE WITH THE WATERPIK AQUARIUS: these don't come with your Aquarius but they are compatible with it, and you may find them useful: --Orthodontic tip OD-100E --Tongue Cleaner TC-100E Finally, Waterpik also offers a storage case that comes with six compatible tips. Search for TS-100E. THE WATERPIK AQUARIUS VERUS THE WATERPIK ULTRA: A SHOWDOWN Some reviewers have argued that the older Waterpik WP100W Ultra Dental Water Flosser is a better device. However, many reviewers have claimed the opposite. Waterpik continues to make both. Here are the differences according to Amazon and Waterpik (you can do comparisons between any current models on Waterpik's website, just type in Waterpik dot com then choose Oral Hygiene): This Model, the Waterpik Aquarius WP-660 is called the "Aquarius Professional" on Waterpik's site. That's cool, right? As of this writing, the Ultra has fewer than 300 reviews that average 4.5 stars; this Aquarius has over 6,000 reviews that average 4.4 stars. Since I don't know if the Ultra's average rating is 4.500000 and the Aquarius's is 4.4999999999, I don't really see any difference in those reviews other than than a LOT more people choose to buy this Aquarius. Differences Between this Aquarius and the Ultra --while on Amazon, prices vary, Waterpik thinks the Aquarius is the nicer machine because they charge $20 more for the Aquarius than for the Ultra; --the Ultra has a button on the handle that you must hold down in order to keep the water flowing, if you let go, it stops; the Aquarius has an on/off toggle switch so that once you toggle it on, it keeps flowing without finger pressure, until you toggle it off; --the Aquarius comes with three Classic Jet tips, versus two with the Ultra --the Aquarius includes a massage mode (have to admit that I don't use this at all) --the Aquarius includes an LED Function Indicator (ehh) --the Aquarius includes a Timer/Pacer (I use this every day and know that I would stop sooner than I should if it weren't on there) --the Ultra doesn't include anything that the Aquarius does not Features That Are Identical Between the Aquarius and the Ultra --both come in black and white (Aquarius, this page; Waterpik Ultra White and Black available here; --same water pressure --same flow rate --same pulse rate --both have 10 pressure settings --the tips rotate 360 degrees --water capacity both in volume and in seconds --both have covered water reservoirs --almost identical weight: 1.46 pounds for this Aquarius and 1.48 for the Ultra --both have three-year warranties --both only have plugs for North America SOME OTHER MODELS AVAILABLE: Waterpik Complete Care is still available for $10 more and gives you a shorter warranty (2 years instead of 3), no massage mode, no LED indicators, and fewer tips. Thumbs down. If you're really price sensitive OR if you want to use medicaments OR you really hate filling the reservoir, the Waterpik Classic Pro is $30 less expensive on the Waterpik site (on Amazon, prices vary) includes a medicament reservoir, and holds up to 35 ounces (Aquarius and Ultra hold 22 ounces) but you will not get: --the good reviews that the Aquarius and Ultra have; Classic Pro is not nearly as well-liked; --the option of a black-colored model; --the maximum water pressure of 100 PSI (it's 90 PSI instead) --four pressure settings: you get only six pressure settings instead of ten (but honestly, how many people need the subtlety of more than six settings?); --the super-important-to-me Timer/Pacer --water control on the handle (it works like the Ultra: you have to hold a button down); --a covered reservoir; --covered tip storage; --massage mode; --LED Function Indicator; --the ability to use any tips other than the Classic, the Pik Pocket and the Tongue Cleaner (Waterpik does not make compatible Orthodontic tips, Plaque Seeker tips, or Toothbrush tips for the Waterpik Classic Pro) --the third year of warranty, Classic only comes with a tow-year warranty. I hope this review has been helpful to you. Please feel free to leave comments, as you can see, I have responded to the only question asked, and am happy to answer more. And I'd very much appreciate a "Yes" click if you did find this review at all helpful. (I have dreams of one day qualifying for the VINE reviewer program...) IMPORTANT HEALTH UPDATES (2/19/2017): WATERPIKING SAVES LIVES, MAYBE YOURS! THE LIFESAVING UPDATE: My Primary Care Physician just informed me that PLAQUE in the MOUTH CAUSES PLAQUE in the ARTERIES AND VEINS! !! ! !! That was a big surprise to me. Now I'm REALLY going to use this baby twice a day (like I told my dental hygienist I do <w>). A DENTAL HYGIENE BEST-PRACTICES UPDATE: My Primary also told me that using flossing brushes (like the Pixters my dentist told me to use) actually transfers bacteria from the first tooth to the second, and from the first and second to the third, and so on. Unless of course you use a new one for each tooth, each time. IMHO, they're way too expensive for that! So, she suggested using one per tooth but on a less frequent basis, and using the Waterpik two times, full time, every single day instead. ... show more

Impressed with this Waterpik Aquarious Countertop Water Flosser

As a first-time purchaser of any Waterpik product, I wasn't sure what to expect. The dentist and hygienist I had been seeing for more than 20 years stopped accepting my dental insurance, so I was forced to switch to a new dental office. Without going into too much detail, I have struggled with inflamed and tender gums for several years. My new dental hygienist recommended that I purchase a Waterpik to help massage my gums and clean between my teeth. This was the first time a hygienist had ever recommended a specific product to me, so I decided to take her advice and order one. It took me a couple of days to master using the Waterpik, but now that I have, I can honestly say that my teeth and gums feel much better. The water pressure is adjustable, and it also features a massage setting. The water reservoir is perfect for one, and sometimes two, uses. I don't mind refilling it each time because my hygienist recommended using warm water. It also comes with seven different tips, making it versatile for a variety of oral care needs. This experience has shown me that sometimes change can be a good thing. I highly recommend this product and only wish I had purchased one sooner! ... show more

Good machine, plugs into wall

I've had this for months now. It's doing a great job, and I wish I would have invested in a waterpik years ago. You don't realize what floss and brushing alone miss until you start incorporating a waterpik into your dental routine. With this model, you can adjust the water flow to suit your needs. In addition, you have several tips to choose from. The cord is long enough so that if you need to place it farther from the plug, you can do so. With 10 settings and multiple tips, I've found that it meets my needs quite well. It is a model that plugs in, so if you are seeking wireless, that would not be this one. Good water capacity...I generally do 3-4 rounds /refills of water before I put in my retainers for the evening. ... show more

Waterpik Aquarius Blue WP-663 Blue Water Flosser For Teeth Cleaning
Color: Blue Number of Items: 1
Effective Water Flosser That Makes Dental Care Easier. The Waterpik Aquarius WP-663 Water Flosser has been a very worthwhile addition to my oral care routine. After using it consistently for several weeks, I can definitely tell a difference in how clean my teeth and gums feel compared to brushing alone. It does an excellent job flushing out food particles and plaque from between teeth and along the gumline, especially in areas that can be difficult to reach with traditional floss. One of the standout features is the wide range of pressure settings. Whether you prefer a gentle cleaning or a more powerful stream, there’s a setting that can be adjusted to your comfort level. I started on a lower setting and gradually increased the pressure as I became more comfortable with the device. The water pressure remains consistent throughout use and provides a thorough cleaning experience every time. The large water reservoir is another feature I appreciate. It holds enough water for a complete cleaning session, so I rarely have to stop and refill it. The included assortment of tips is also a nice bonus, allowing different members of the household to use the unit or making it easier to target specific dental needs. The controls are conveniently located, and the pause button on the handle is especially useful when moving between different areas of the mouth. I also noticed that my gums felt healthier after incorporating this water flosser into my daily routine. My mouth feels fresher after each use, and routine dental cleanings have been easier since I’ve been using it regularly. For anyone with braces, dental work, or simply trouble using traditional floss, this product can make maintaining good oral hygiene much more convenient. The reason I’m giving it 4 stars instead of 5 is because it does have a few minor drawbacks. The unit takes up a decent amount of counter space, which may be an issue in smaller bathrooms. It can also be somewhat noisy while operating, and there is a learning curve when first using it. Expect a few splashes and a little mess during the first several uses until you get the technique down. Additionally, the water reservoir could be easier to clean thoroughly. Despite those minor complaints, the overall performance more than makes up for them. The Waterpik Aquarius WP-663 is reliable, easy to operate, and delivers a noticeably cleaner feeling than brushing alone. It has become a regular part of my daily routine, and I would recommend it to anyone looking to improve their oral hygiene. It’s not perfect, but it’s a high-quality product that delivers excellent results and is well worth considering. ... show more

I much say that I’m enjoying using my waterpik. My gums are so much better and easy to use. My mouth feels cleaner and fresher. It’s a powerful machine. I don’t normally write reviews but decided to give waterpik a second chance. The first one I had when I started to use it worked well up until the warranty was about to expire. I contacted the company told me to try different things and by that time warranty had expired. So the waterpik that I had also came with a flosser needless to say it to stop working after a few times. Both of them even fully charged or plugged in would start out normal but then just slows down to nothing. So I’m hoping this time around is a better experience for my dental health and a better experience with the company ... show more

Great Waterpik!
Color: Black Number of Items: 1
I love this Waterpik! It is very easy to use and cleans my teeth very well. I know it is doing a great job, because I still wash particles out even after brushing. It doesn't leak, but the water does run down as you clean, which is expected. It holds a good amount of water without a need to refill. The fact that it comes with several tips is a plus. The ability to adjust the cleaning pressure is great too. Start low and after time, you can increase intensity. My dentist even commented on how healthy and great my gum line looks! ... show more

This great old classic still is essential for dental health - buy it - use it!
Color: White Number of Items: 1
In this throwaway society where appliances, especially electronics, are considered obsolete sometimes before the batteries need recharging, it’s amazing to find one product that is still virtually unchanged after over 50 years on the market. It hasn’t needed any upgrades, and is still basically the exact same function and design as it was way back when. I particularly find this gratifying when I just learned, for example, that Apple will be issuing an upgrade on their OS system for their IPhone, which will basically make any of their phones from the 4S and below obsolete, so that, even though yours may work perfectly, technically, you would have to throw it away and spend many hundreds of dollars for a new one! This appliance that has stood the test of time is the WaterPik. I remember my father buying one of the first ones, per his dentist’s recommendation back in the 1960s. In those days there was something about it that seemed almost futuristic. Like something you would see someone using in outer space in a SCI Fi flick. However it’s simple design and function was enormously easy to master, which is a big deal for me back then as little kid! It is also quite uncommon, when it came to devices that supposedly promised some kind of improved health, to find that everything they say about the produce… is true. I remember year after using it, and going from my annual checkup at the dentist, the results were amazing. I stopped using the WaterPik years ago, and just depended on regular brushing and flossing. However now that I’m not such a young kid, even with diligent dental hygiene, you’re gums will begin to do some receding on their own, purely by the evil tyrant known as “aging”. My scores for my gums receding were getting a bit worrisome, in the last few dental checkups, and again my dentist recommended that I should also use a WaterPik. To be honest I was surprised they still made them. I felt, like most everything in the world, these had fallen out of style or favor and we’re no longer used. My dentist however told me they were perhaps one of the best dental hygiene Home Devices ever invented and he was sorry to see that most people didn’t use them anymore. I told him that I flossed religiously, but he told me that the WaterPik gives an extra much needed work-out to the gums keeping them healthy and strong and reducing gum receding. So of course I went right onto Amazon, and found this unit. It was basically the same as I remembered, though they have streamlined the device a bit. Again it was easy to use, and starting with a low pressure number, I quickly got used to the pulsating action and within a week was at the highest level (yes, as “Spinal Tap” guitarist Nigel Tufnel would say: “it goes to eleven!”). The unit is actually a bit quieter than the original with an easier water reservoir system and a coiled hose which makes placement back on its “holster” a lot easier. It also has several holders for each individual pick if more than one of you is using it. Since I’m the only one who uses it, I simply keep the pick itself on the hose unit which fits easily on the hose-holster. Putting it back in its little holder which is situated behind the water reservoir is a little awkward, and frankly if you’re the only one using it there’s no reason to just keep it attached. So on to the punch line. After only six months of use, I went back for my dental checkup, and went through the rating test for gum receding, and found that all my numbers went up 50 to 70%! My dental hygienist, who does the tests, was so excited that she literally ran into the hall to show others, like a proud mother showing off her son’s report card. I feel like a little boy again, and was just a little upset that they no longer give out lollipops as rewards! One thing my dentist and dental hygienist did tell me is that if you use the WaterPik, you should continue to floss, since there are things that the actual floss does between your teeth which a WaterPik cannot. And of course things that the WaterPik can do that flossing doesn’t. So the combination of the two is extremely important. I’m at the age where friends are beginning to tell me about real trouble with their teeth, and how many are getting bridges and implants, and in one case even dentures, since their gums have receded so badly that their original teeth had to be removed (and we’re talking about folks in their late 40’s to early 60’s here, not ancient people). So I cannot stress hard enough how important something like a WaterPik is. And also, how important it is to start this kind of dental hygiene when you are young. For me, especially as you get older, there is nothing more constantly prevalent than when you have bad teeth. I don’t think anything else destroys your quality of life more than trouble with your teeth and the consequences it causes. By the way, after doing a lot of research I have found that Amazon gives the absolute best price for the WaterPik. Of course it arrived within days and like all other products has a great return policy. ... show more
