I have want a filter on the in coming water supply to my house for some time. With some recent repairs getting done it was the perfect time. I checked with Lowe's and Home Depot and while Lowe's had what I wanted, Home Depot did not. So I checked Amazon and found this one. It was what I wanted and at a lower price. With costs every where going up stupid fast saving every dime has become important. Pros: 1. Large capacity. It filters our entire daily water usage with no issues. 2. Standard size filter elements, makes replacement inexpensive. 3. Easy install. Take the bracket off the housing (8 screws make it easy) when drilling the holes to mount it. Then re-attach the bracket to the housing and hang it. Super easy. 4. All materials needed to install the filter, except plumbing fittings are included. 5. Easy to understand instructions. There isn't much to installing one of these, yet a lot of Chinese made products have crappy instructions. Cons: 1. Opaque housing means you can visually assess the state of the filters without opening the housing. 2. Filters need to be replaced regularly. This is the down side of all filters. Mine has been in for less than 30 days so no idea of the actual service life. Word of caution. Some articles say you should replace the filter every 3 months. You will need to determine this on your own. A family of 5 uses more water than a family of 1 or 2. So you need to monitor your water quality and determine your own replacement interval. After installation, mine had a leak. Turns out, one of the inlet fittings was cracked. A replacement came from Amazon with their usual mediocre delivery schedule. I've had this (Iron & Manganese, Carbon filter) installed for 1 week and it's completely removed the smell & taste of chlorine from my home water. It also has reduced the white spots and residue usually left over on dishes after washing. At first it was leaking, but that was because I put the teflon tape on in the wrong direction and didn't tighten enough. After fixing both of those mistakes I made there has not been a single drip. Easy to install. Can tell a big difference in the water. However, I have well water with a strong sulfur smell like farts. This filter gets rid of almost all of it. There’s still a little bit there. But I might need to clean the hot water heater or something as such. I’m very happy about how easy it was to install & how well it filters the water. I gave it 4 out of 5 because there’s still that bit of residual smell. If it was completely gone, I would have said 5 stars. ... show more

Make sure you do at least 3 wraps with teflon per length on installation or it may leak. Otherwise it’s a great system. Been using it for months. Keeps the stink of chlorine out of my water. Highly recommend.

Do you have doubts about what your family may be drinking? I had doubts knowing what my sinks, showers and toilets looked like. I installed this setup to ease my mind while also being able to visually determine whether this investment was a decent one. Lets just say that I’m very disturbed at what our towns water happens to be delivering to us. Never trust what they say because it’s your family’s lives you’re gambling with. The sediment filter is showing shards of metal. More than likely an old pipe deteriorating and being dispersed in which is visually upsetting to my wife and I. My next step is installing a softener which will take care of the Calcium Carbonate and iron deposits. Make sure you dry fit it before you install. You never know what you’re going to face. Pex B with shark bite fittings made this a breeze. Remember, shark bite fittings can be removed and reinstalled with the correct tools. They’re pretty much a quick disconnect. I installed a ball valve before the filters because I didn’t trust the main spigot to our house and I needed a way to service the filters. I will be installing another ball valve after the filters so the filters are isolated from the main and house for maintenance. Make sure you determine everything you need first and put about 8-10 wraps of plumbers tape on the treaded parts. We were taught only one layer of it would be appropriate, but as we all know that’s bs. It took a ton of Teflon tape to seal the fittings, if you think you wrapped it too much, you didn’t. Trust me. No leaks after 3 weeks now. Super happy so far! ... show more

The unit works but I returned once because of leaks and the second time I got the filter it leaked again. Both times it leaked on the inlet and the outlet threads. I followed directions properly and both units had leaks at the threads. They need to address this leak issue. The threads should be metal or something. But the filter pushes fresh water and taste is good. But I hate that I have a leak now. ... show more

Helps minimize sand and other debris that naturally comes from a well. Very easy to install with replacement cartridges available throughout the Amazon store based on your needs. We have noticed that all of our appliances like the cleaner water due to the appliance filters (Fridge, ice machines, dishwasher, etc) not clogging hardly at all as well as no more calcium stains within them.
