    • Good filters to substitute for the Original Filtrete filters.
These are effective replacements for 3US-PF01 Filtrete high capacity, under-sink filtration systems. We have water with a heavy mineral content in this part of Jefferson City, MO. It means the water has a OK taste, but not really good, kind of a dusty flavor. So, since I drink a lot of water and make a lot of ice trays, I wanted something to make the experience better. Hence, I installed the Filtrete system. I knew the filters were expensive, running at around $50 a pop, plus tax, but for good-tasting water, it was better than a pitcher or a Pur system, for my money. The long-life filter is designed to go six months, or over 1000 gallons of water. That's 10 Pur filters, by the way, or $140 worth of filters! The water tastes good, and makes really good ice cubes. It also improves the flavor of meals that need water in cooking. The water flow is also better than a Pur faucet filter, due to the extra size and filtration capacity. Well worth the money. These filters are easy to change, too. I have my unit installed just inside my right under-sink cabinet, against the side wall. This allows easy changes without blocking access or requiring that I get down on hands and knees to make changes. A simple ¼ twist to the left to unseat the filter, then pull it down and out. A few drops of water will drip, but cleanup is easy, no big messes. Then press the new filter onto the stem, and twist to the right to seat it. Run for 10 minutes to fill and flush the filter, then take a sticker and either place it on the filter, or a more visible place if desired. I take and go six months into my phone calendar and set a reminder to change the filter six months later, and set it to Repeat every six months later. Very handy to do that! ... show more

    • Nice replacement for the Filtrete filter
I have a Filtrete water filter system on my kitchen sink and can no longer find the filters for it. I saw this as a replacement option and figured I would try it. The installation was just as easy for this as it was for the Filtrete branded ones with the added bonus of this having a much much stronger flow than the original. I think the flavor is the same as the original and it fills my water bottle up faster. I can't say yet if it lasts as long as the original before needing to be replaced but if it's super short I'll return to update my review. ... show more

    • Not 6-months, Not 3 months... every 2 months... :-(
I'm going to go with: Our well water must just suck horribly in our apartment. The water from this filter is GREAT! But after just 2 months (consistently), the water starts to smell sulfury coming out of the filtered tap. Switching out the filter immediately makes that smell go away. Sniffing the dirty fil...*@$#W&)**@%&* OMG!! What the heck! It must be working overtime on our water. I dunno... Just seems like we don't use nearly enough water to make these only last a couple months. Also, our water doesn't smell sulfury out of our regular unfiltered tap so I have no idea what's causing that. BUT... for those 2 months though... the water is AMAZING! ... show more

This filter is just as good as the Filtrete brand. Its great to see companies that bring good quality products to the market, and offer them to us at reasonable prices. To all of those involved in the process of getting Water Drop produced and out on the market for us, and at reasonable prices, Thank you guys so much. 2 Water Drop filters are the price of 1 Filtrete filter. If you're currently using a Filtrete filter, there is no need to worry because the Water Drop filter will fit perfectly into the inline filter connection housing (thingy). ;-) I recommend this filter.. ... show more
