The brushes are really great quality. They are just a little too stiff for my liking. I’ve been trying out different brands of brushes to use with water color paints. In order to produce the brush strokes, a certain consistency is necessary in the bristles. Unfortunately, I will be returning these. I purchased the set of 10 round brushes in addition to the Dugato watercolor paints. I was intrigued by the fact that they are made from a black synthetic nylon fiber designed to hold water similarly to squirrel hair. I love my animal friendly Princeton Neptune brushes for that reason, and when I saw that this set looked like a good quality for a significantly lower price, I wanted to try them out. The capacity was impressive, however they hold slightly less water than my Neptune brushes. Though, unlike the Neptune brushes they do come to a finer point and snap back into shape after each stroke which I think is more beginner friendly. Before painting, I took a few minutes to get a feel for how the brushes handled. I was happy that they didn't dump watercolor out in a big blob, but rather dispensed the water in a controlled manner. I was able to create small lines of fine grass or hair-like strokes with even the largest brush, and then press down to be able to fill in larger spaces if I wanted. Definitely a winner for beginner watercolor painters on a budget. ... show more

Bristle heads seem good, nice points. Handles are pretty and well finished. Ferrules are looser than a goose on green grass. I had to superglue Every one of them to eliminate the distracting wiggle.
