I was unsure of whether to buy these solar panels or the Arlo ones. I decided to try these first because you get two solar panels for 30-40% less than the cost of one Arlo solar panel. Here are my thoughts and experiences so far after 2+ months. 1. Not enough power to allow for continuous recording. I knew this ahead of time so I’m not deducting any stars in this review. 2. Obviously the charge amount depends on weather and time of year (how long the sun is out). So far from March to May, I can get up to 30% battery charge if there’s minimal activity being recorded. When my kids are playing in the backyard all day and the camera is constantly recording and uploading video, I can get about 10% battery charge. 3. Installation is super easy, and this saves me from having to bring out the ladder to exchange batteries. The initial Arlo battery out of the box is roughly 50-60%, and by the end of day 2 the battery was at 100%. Overall, I highly recommend this product. There’s adequate charge that saves you from the inconvenience of having to change the batteries. It’s easy to install and is still working well after 2+ months. ... show more

Good value for price. I've had mine for about a month. 1 of them works perfectly and the second not so much. They both are place within the same area so sun exposure is equal, but 1 of the does not function properly and doesn't charge much of the camera. I have to turn camara off in order to get it charged, which beats its purpose. Cord is very long, so it can ba a blessing or a hazzle, depending on your view. It does allow for better placement, but if the best place is near the camera, you will have a lot of extra cable hanging. I would give it a favorable review, but not excellent. ... show more

Easy to assemble and mount. Good charging unit. Just make sure to position it to face the sun most of the day! Long power cable

    • Terrible Performance
The product performance is terrible. Camera's were installed with fully charged batteries. The Panels were installed in direct sunlight on atop the roof of the garage in Sunny Southern California. After 20 Days, the Cameras were offline and batteries dead. Initial installed was done with partially charged batteries. I logged a support ticketed and support advised that initial install should be done with fully charged batteries. Despite following their undocumented instructions the product still failed. I am beyond disappointed at the time and expense exhausted on a defective product that fails to meet it's advertised functionality. I am request a full refund and will buy an Arlo Panel. I read a review from another customer who stated "You get what you pay for". This is a cheap product that doesn't perform and wastes customers time and effort. I installed these two panels next to two separate cameras in entirely different areas around the house. One of them gets a lot of great south/southeast sunshine. The camera status indicates that the battery is charging almost all the time and even with events throughout the day/night (triggered mostly by the dog) the camera manages to get back to a full charge each day and easily last through less-than-sunny days. Previously, this camera would barely last a week and even died within 48 hrs once before the panel. The second camera is on the other side of the house, is north facing, and in a shaded areas that really never gets direct sunlight. The camera's status never indicates charging but I have seen in increase in how long the camera battery lasts. I do want to reconnect the panel as it originally indicates some sort of power fault but in the meantime, while it doesn't appear to be charging, the battery has very slowly been draining losing only about a percent a day. A wonderful improvement for both cameras and I am satisfied! I was originally skeptical of the panels being able to increase the time between replacing the batteries much less keeping them fully charged. That said, I have been pleasantly surprised, even with the north facing camera (which made just need to be reset). Definitely worth the investment especially if the expected battery life of 1-3 months turned out to be more like a week or less in reality. I was also skeptical of the quality - IMO the Arlo panel looks cleaner in the pictures and of a higher quality - but I am also very pleased. These panels look and feel great and well built. After much delay and research I can definitely say that getting two of these panels seems to be the way to go. Edit: 3/24/2022 - Just over 2 years Shortly after writing my original review, I ended up never needing to change the batteries. My back-up batteries sit on the charger where they have for quite some time. I may have changed them once or twice due to periods of elongated lack of sunshine. Only thing stopping now is laziness. Structurally - I had the southeast side one come down today. We had high winds but if I'm being honest, it was probably broken by some contractors who had recently done work; I seem to recall last I repositioned it, one size of the mount was broken. The other one has lost it's nut and gets a limp from time to time. All in all, should be fixable and even if the other one broke due to wear, not bad for two years of central Texas weather! Hoping to be able to locate a way to replace just the mount without needing to get another set. But definitely considering just getting new set. Still a 5 star product! ... show more

Two of these Wasserstein solar chargers were installed just over 3 years ago to power my Arlo Pro 3s. I took one Wasserstein down today (12/26/23) to clean it and replace with another brand on a trail basis. I will be adding more Arlo cameras, upgrading to the Ultra 2/4k models and, because these Wasserstein solar chargers performed flawlessly, I plan to use them for the new cameras. The photos are of the solar panel today after 3 years mounted on the side of my home at a SW facing direction (direct sunlight for the majority of the day) so there will be some yellowing of the plastic frame and components. ... show more
