  • Nice little genny
Style: 4750W, Electric Start
Arrived well packed, and was easy to put together. I put some gas in it, and it fired right up. It is so nice to have the electric start when the power goes out during one of our many snowstorms, instead of pulling the cord on my old cold-blooded genny. It has been used twice so far this winter, I like the nice big gas tank. I ran it for about 12 hours on one fill up, and it still had gas in it when the lights came back on. ... show more

  • Exceeded expectations
Style: 4750W, Electric Start
This was purchased as an emergency generator for power outages. It is set up to run a 15000 BTU window unit A/C, a chest freezer, the 22 cu ft refrigerator, the fan and control board on a propane furnace, the ISP modem and it's associated router/gear, a 55" Smart TV, a couple of LED lamps and, most importantly, an oxygen concentrator, Though this may seem like a long list for a relatively small generator, I had calculated all of the power requirements and they fit within the 3650 watt run duty specs for this unit. Fortunately, the rewiring issue for my install was relatively simple as virtually all the wiring was in same, close area. A 50', 30 amp generator cord, two heavy duty plug-in strips and some wiring changes were all that were needed to get hooked up. During the text run of 4 hours, the little generator ran perfectly, powering all that was needed. Though everything was not on all the time, the generator didn't struggle when everything was on. I had originally intended this unit to be only a stopgap measure and had planned to replace it with a 9KW open frame generator that were not available at this time of purchase. This did so well, I have, at least for now, canceled plans to upsize and will stay with this as my go-to emergency generator. It is surprisingly quiet for an open frame unit and started immediately with the elec start feature. During the 4 hour test, I used slightly less than 2 gal of gas so it should manage 9 to 10 hours cycles under my approx. ¾ load average. Very pleased with the purchase. ... show more

  • Easy assembly, but...
Style: 4750W, Electric Start
The assembly was easy you just have the put the handles on and the wheels. I had to do this twice as the first generator had a terrible noise like the motor was banging. The second one had a very high pitch noise. Inspecting the generator, I found the air filter box had been damaged and broken inside. Looked like factory damage. The Tec support was very good, and I returned the first one. I told them I'd fix the second one and they said they would send me the filter box. ... show more

  • Great If You Use Magnetic Oil Fill Plug!!!
Style: 4750W, Electric Start
Comes with a small tool kit you need to run it. Just fill it up with fuel and oil. Btw, it even comes with the oil! First finger picture is where to find the oil drain plug. Second finger picture is where to find the oil fill plug. Solid. Weighs appropriately for 8hp motor. Pretty easy to move. Cool colors. 4.5 gallon fuel tank. Efficient. Super easy start even from the first turn over. In my honest opinion, you should use full synthetic oil (i.e. 5W-30) WITH a magnetic oil fill plug you can find on Amazon for about $15-$20. Mine came out with a lot of metal shavings the first time I used it. Simply wipe with clean cloth. Reinsert. Check periodically for possible burn off. Mine has stayed clean ever since I wiped it one time! Hope this helps someone out there looking for a strictly 120V output simi-heavy duty occasional backup generator. Thank you and WEN for your time and please be safe! ... show more

  • I give the WEN generator a solid 10 on the Value for your Money list
Style: 4750W, Electric Start
This is my second generator. The first saw a lot of use during 4 hurricanes, but when the engine speed governor broke, I decided to purchase a new unit. This was a step down in power only. My last unit was larger with a higher wattage output, but it was overkill for my needs. The WEN came with a complete tool kit, everything needed to assemble it, which by the way is a bit tricky (see below). This should NOT be a deciding factor when considering purchasing one of these units. The single most important feature of the WEN is that it has electric start! My old one didn't have that, and the last time I had to use it for emergency power, I pulled a muscle in my back and spent the hurricane and 5 days afterward in agony. After following the excellent set of instructions, the WEN generator started immediately with the push of a switch! As I am 70 and have had 4 back fusions, this was a blessing. Note: the WEN came with a bottle of oil and a funnel and hose to facilitate putting the oil into the motor. It is a little awkward to get to, and the hose is a little too large to fit into the oil fill opening. Be sure to hold the hose snuggly against the oil hole. A second set of hands is recommended. Attaching the battery is a bit tricky too and requires a steady hand because the space where the wire terminal, nut and bolt attaches to the battery is very tight. Again, a second set of hands is helpful. I was extremely fortunate that that the last hurricane, Dorian, bypassed my Florida home by 70-80 miles. Knowing that the WEN was set up and ready to go, including 15 gallons of gas, made for a healthy dose of Peace of Mind! And that you cannot put a price tag on! ... show more

  • Saved the Day
Style: 4750W, Electric Start
Finally got to use it due to severe weather and not the ice storm I expected. Too easy to operate and started right up. Came with a tool kit, oil, funnel and large clear instructions that did not need a magnifying glass to read. Exploited views on just about every part. Only had to get a grounding rod/wire. Nice wheel kit and tow handle with all the screws. Could only handle three things or four small things at A time. Super bargain for the price. I liked it so much I got another WEN so I can run my Dryer next time with a 240V. This model is ONLY 120v so it can supplement a larger generator. Confident my generators will get it done WEN the next storm hits. ... show more

  • Best generator ever purchased!
Style: 4750W, Electric Start
Bought this two years ago due to hurricane season coming and the last generator was a pull start and didn’t work to good! Put this one together and started it to make sure everything was working. Didn’t put much gas in it just in case I didn’t need it for a while! It started right up, ran it for about 1/2 hour, then shut the fuel off and ran it till it ran out of gas then stored it in the garage till Helene started coming our way! Charged the battery just in case, put some gas in then started it and it fired right up again. Never lost power with Helene, then we got slammed with Milton and we lost power on Wednesday night. After it passed, set the generator and it performed flawlessly! Ran it for a total of 81 hours until power came on Sunday evening! I’ve recommended this unit to one of my longtime friends! ... show more
