Has plenty of power to start and run 2 ACs and lights and the small refrigerator in my RV. Very easy to set up and it starton the 1st pull. It ran 3½ hours on 1 gallon of gas with a 15,000btu AC running on high on a hot day with lights and small appliance and the small refrigerator. I'm very happy with how it works. The power went out on the house and it was very handy to keep the food in large refrigerator from spoiling. 1 gallon of gas lasted almost 12 hours with the fridge. The media could not be loaded. After doing quite a bit of research and seeing so many lose power I came to the conclusion a that having 2 choices for emergency power generation would be the correct answer. Having Solar is a no brainer but with bad weather you may not be able to charge your solar batteries up with the sun. Thats where this comes into play, quiet enough to run during the day and can give enough power to run some things along with charging your batteries for use during the evening. Quiet enough that the whole neighborhood won't know you have a generator and even your neighbors would have to wonder what that sound is and where is it coming from. This generator will give ample power and can run quite a long time on 1 tank of gas. Heavy enough, it is heavy but I do not believe someone is coming to pick it up and run to steal it. After lifting they may have second thoughts. Broke it in and I highly recommend to break it in. I ran with no load for 30 minutes and changed the oil -- black as can be and lots of silver. Next with a light load a ran it for an hour and once again, changed the oil and came out a bit cleaner. The third time I ran it with a rotating heavy to medium load for an hour and changed the oil which came out clean. Went out, aa week later and filled the tank and with 1 pull she started right on up. This is about a Champion 200986 Inverter Generator - it handles 4500 W max. We bought it because a friend had one which handled her RV AC with no problem and was amazingly quiet. The one we have starts very easily with a pull start, but they do have a remote electric start if you need it. Noise level is important to us and it actually runs quieter than advertised - at 50% load, we get about 59 db. It has a well designed handle and wheels that make it easy to maneuver. It is comparatively light weight for this power level. If I have had my Wheaties, I can lift it into the back of our trailer or truck, and two people can easily do it. With a ramp it would be no problem. Service was great and we know this because we had a problem with the initial generator shipped to us. It ran, but vibrated a lot and was unusually loud. Called the service number about it and they said it was probably a wiring defect and put me together with a warranty service center. We found that the warranty service centers near us also do a lot of other small engine repair and were backed up 3-4 weeks. We contacted Champion service about that, and 2 days later we had a brand new replacement generator - wonderful, polite service that took care of our problem. ... show more

I purchased this generator to run my small 20 foot camper as most of the time where I camp there is no electrical hook up. I wanted something small, quiet (for running the AC at night) and efficient. I have had this generator for 2 months and have used it twice to camp. It has plenty of wattage to run the AC (15,000 BTU unit), lights, pumps, and a few other items without tripping it. The generator is quiet even when running at full RPM. The generator starts up easily with the touch of the button or the key fob, very nice feature. When I received the generator I followed the directions of unpacking it and filling it up with oil and breaking it in. The process is very easy but my mechanic friend told me to do the following when breaking in generators. For the first 1.5 hours I ran the oil in the generator that came with it. After the 1.5 hours I changed the oil for Valvoline regular oil of the same weight. Ran the generator for another 5 hours with this oil in it. After the 6.5 hour mark I changed the oil again except this time used a full synthetic oil of the same weight. Why did my mechanic friend request I change the oil twice during the break in period? After the oil was changed during the first 1.5 hours the oil was already black and it contained numerous shinny metal flakes suspended in the oil from seating the new engine components. After the second change the oil was black, but not as bad, and it did contain little metal. The double change of oil helps to reduce metal shavings from damaging your new cylinder and engine. Thus far with two weekend outings I am very pleased with the purchase and hope this little generator continues to run great as the summer time temperatures increase. ... show more

Did some off the grid camping with this little generator and had absolutely no issues. For reference we have a 30 foot travel trailer and I have 2 kids and a wife that like electricity. I followed the break in period and changed out the oil after the recommend time with some performance motor oil and had zero issues. 9/10 starts on the first pull and runs quite enough where you can hold a conversation next to it while it’s running your camper.
