Love it. Be sure to note outlet capacities.

To be clear, I have not used the generator in an emergency yet - I have only tested it. I ran it for about 30 minutes while powering a small refrigerator and some other devices. Based on my experience, I am very pleased with it. The generator arrived in excellent shape - no issues from shipping. It was easy to assemble the wheel kit and add oil. I had it ready to go in about a half hour. You will want to have the wheel kit. Is is very easy to move and maneuver with the wheels, but heavy and awkward enough to be difficult without them. In an emergency, the last thing I want is to hurt my back getting the generator ready. I added some gas and followed the instructions to start it. To say that it is easy to start is an understatement. It started on the first pull, and I didn't even need to pull hard. It was amazing. The noise was about what I expected, maybe a little quieter than comparable generators I have used. It runs very smoothly. Everything worked great. The emissions control is amazing. I was surprised that I could never small any fumes as I approached it when it was running. All of the controls and outlets, as well as the oil plug and oil fill/dipstick are clearly labeled and easy to access. Note that while this is rated at 3600/4650 watts, you cannot accomplish that using only the two household outlets. Those share a 20 amp breaker. So using normal extension cords, whether one or two, the best you can do is 2400 watts (120V x 20 amps). Unless you plan to use something connected to the L5-30 or TT-30 connector, you will want to buy an L5-30P adapter in order to take advantage of the full capacity. Adding the 30 amp (up to 3600 watts) capacity of the L5-30 outlet to the 20 amps, you can reach the full capacity. I purchased this one: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B071ZNBVZM/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 I will update this review after my first outage that requires extended use, but I have to say that I am so far very satisfied with my decision to purchase this unit.

Great Generator Value!

I ordered this generator because the town I live in has more power outages than some third world countries. (Please do not take offense as I have been to many third world countries so I am speaking from experience). Living in Florida one needs to be prepared for outages due to hurricanes and such, but our power goes out whenever there is a thunderstorm. And to top it off, we seem to be on the end of the line when it comes to restoring power so we can go for 4 hours to a day if situations are bad. (not even talking about hurricanes where we can lose power for days/weeks). So I decided to get a generator that will power a fridge, tv (and peripherals such as roku, cable box, etc), lights and a fan to keep cool. This westinghouse 3600v should do the trick. The generator comes completely assembled and all that is needed is to add oil and gas, Fortunately, Westinghouse has added a quart of oil so I did not need to go out and purchase any...thanks Westinghouse! I added the oil, added a gallon of gas and turned the switch to "ON" and turned the gas to allow the gas to flow and pulled the engine cord and !!BAM!!, it started up on the first pull with barely any muscle. My grandmother could have started this generator because it requires hardly any muscle power to start it up. The generator seems well built, sounded good and starts on the first try. The only negative thing I have to say is that the generator does not come with a wheel kit which I think all portable generators should come with. A wheel kit can be purchased but I did not want to spend another $100 (after taxes), so I reckon I will do without. Overall I think this is a well built generator and would definitely recommend it to friends.

Quiet.

This thing is much quieter then I thought. That’s the main thing I like about it. Also I poured fuel in, set the choke and it fired up on the first pull. When you get this you have to change the oil after 20 hours. A ton of people neglect these small motors. Also run it for about 5 hours straight for the first time to break it in. These little things help a lot. The best thing however is how quiet it is. Oh another tip for any generator is start it up once a month for at least 5 minutes.

Great generator

It's heavy so you may want to purchase one with wheels (I didn't). It works great! I power my fridge, 55" tv, router, modem, PS4, a light and whatever the kids and my wife want to charge as well. Gas seemed to last quite a while and I only put in a couple gallons at a time. Took the advice I saw from another reviewer and bought the power adapter suggested so I can use both circuits to maximize use. No issues or complaints as of yet.

Just buy it. A great value. Updated review.

Always starts on first or second pull. That's critical to me as I have little patience for tough to start equipment. I use this generator to run my rv ac unit on the homestead I'm building in southern AZ. Seems to run about 10 hrs. on the 4 gallon tank, though I never let it run completly dry. Just buy it. A great value. Very happy. Update: Oct. 2019 Still going strong after more than 12 months. I don't use it everyday but when I do I run it all day.

Problem finally solved no thanks to Westinghouse tactical support

My first 3600 generator failed to start after the third oil change just would backfire. Amazon sent me a second one and it did the same thing so if you were having this issue I will tell you what the problem is because after having two Different repair companies work on this thing I finally got to the bottom of the issue no thanks to the Westinghouse technical support. It started great for both mechanics so they assumed it was all set but the second one kept it there and started it every day with no problem till one day it acted up for him so he looked into it mechanically and found that the valves were too tight and if they landed in the wrong place when you shut it off it wouldn’t start now you would think that seeing this happen to two generators in a row that I received that these idiots would know what the problem was. I ended up spending another $150 between the two mechanics In order to finally solve the problem so keep that in mind if you run into this issue
