This rug is exactly what I was looking for! It is thin, but that’s expected with a washable rug, and the low pile has actually been a plus—there’s no shedding at all. I highly recommend adding a 1/4” rug pad—it made a huge difference and gives the rug a much more plush, expensive feel. The rug itself is very soft underfoot; even my son commented on how good it feels on his skin. I ordered the 10x14, and it is quite heavy, which I expected at this size. I’ll likely still take it to a cleaner rather than wash it myself, but that isn’t a negative—just something to keep in mind with larger sizes. One thing buyers should know is that the rug has charcoal gray undertones and a beautifully varied gray-and-gold pattern that gives it a softly distressed look. Up close, you can tell it is printed, but the random variation in the pattern keeps it from looking flat or artificial and actually enhances that higher-end distressed look. Also, because it arrives folded, I was pleasantly surprised that the creases were not very noticeable right away and relaxed significantly within the first couple of hours. For me, the gray beautifully grounds the room with my red and gray furnishings and ties everything together without the rug overpowering the space. Very nice rug with great value. True to size, pretty colors, and washed/dried in my household laundry machine perfectly. Texture is short grain and soft—not sure how it holds up long-term yet. Makes my room much more cozy!

I purchased this rug to go under two sofas in my living room. Here are my takes: 1. It is very soft, which I like. This is not a pile style rug. Think more of a large thin velvet blanket with a backing. There is also a nap if you vacuum or brush it against the grain. 2. For whatever reason I thought the gold parts would have more of a metallic look, but it is more of a matte mustard gold color (I purchased the black and gold rug). However I am fine with it. 3. I don’t have any padding under it, but I can see how this rug can be slippery. My rug is anchored by my two sofas so it isn’t going anywhere, but I would suggest getting a GOOD rubber padding….not the fabric non-slip rug padding, as I believe that will serve no purpose. 4. Overall, I think this rug is nice for the purpose I needed it for. I am a maximalist, so I needed an anchor for all of the color in my space. I'm honestly impressed with this rug so far. I was hesitant when it arrived because it came in a box and stuffed in plastic, but it unfolded nicely and after almost a week there are hardly any creases. It's soft and doesn't slip around and we have not extra non-slip pad underneath. We purchased this because we have hard wood floors throughout the downstairs and my elderly Jack Russell still jumps off the couch like he's a puppy. The design is nice and I'm hoping it holds up against any stains. I appreciate that I could throw it in the washing machine, although I'm not sure how well it would fit in my washer.
