  • WARN 80010 1000 lbs AC Powered Winch Tool
For the cost I believe this is a great winch. I purchased it to pull a "Roll-A-Dock" out of a lake and up a steep hill. It worked perfect. My wife runs the winch and I can keep an I on the dock. I like the fact that the winch pendant has an in and out button. We'll also use the winch to put the dock in so the out button will be very useful. Previously I had a 12 volt winch. The 120 volt is alot more convenient. The 12 volt also had a hand crank you had to use to let the cable out. It only pulled the load. My only recommendation would be to purchase a pair of heavy leather gloves to guide the cable. Since there isn't a guide to move the cable back and forth as it goes on the drum using your hand covered with a leather glove works fine and allows the cable to wind up on the drum more uniform. I would purchase this winch again. ... show more

  • Excellent, quiet, quality-built American-made winch lives up to its price!
This American-made winch runs quietly, is solidly built, and screams "quality" everywhere you look. Yes, the mounting holes are in a bit of a challenging position, but that is an easily overcome subtly. The wire winds smoothly, the power rating seems to be accurate, or better than advertised. Of particular note, the cord for the attached remote control is plenty long... much appreciated. The packaging of the product is excellent, and the instructions are quite good. Pay a little more and get something you will appreciate for years to come... highly recommended. ... show more

  • Used for a boat
We have a 16ft boat with a heavy motor on it. We use this to back up the boat into our drive way up hill. We bought this with the portable anchor plate, and it works awesome every time. The only difficult part is sometimes the line builds up in one spot instead of spreading evenly over the actual product. So we have to stop, let out line, readjust it and continue on. It works great for what we needed it for! ... show more

  • WARN 1000AC Winch
I went with this winch because of the WARN name brand. I use it about 8 times to lift not even a 500lb load and it did just fine, then the built in 6A circuit breaker popped. I reset it and it would pop again if I tried to run the winch. I let the winch cool down and tried again, then pop and flash. As a Technician by trade I decided to unplugged the winch and took the electrical housing apart. The crappy little Chinese bridge rectifier was bad according to a multi meter and was board is was mounted to was burnt . The wiring and circuit breaker was also low quality. I installed my own 50amp bridge rectifier, better quality circuit breaker and rewired it. Know it works again. I use it to lift a HG52 crank up tower. ... show more

  • Warn 1000 pound 120V winch
I bought this product to replace an old Warn winch of the same kind that had failed after almost 20 years of service. The old one's brushes had worn away, and because the unit was sealed, could not be replaced. The new winch has brushes that can be replaced easily ... so this may be the last winch like this I'll ever have to buy. This winch is the same size as their older model, but does not fit the same mounting holes. This winch is also MUCH quieter than the older model, and works perfectly in its application ... which is to open a hangar door. Recommended. ... show more

  • Product came in very poor condition and did not function.
Came in a nice box with the original box falling apart inside it. The internal cardbooard was crumbling to dust when touched. I have never had a purchase from Amazon arrive in such poor condition and I buy a lot on Amazon. Best part was the product did not have instructions and did not function correctly out if the box. Product may be a good quality normally but I would find another seller if this is what they find acceptable to send. ... show more

  • Great little winch!
This is a great little AC winch! I use it for raising and lowering my 60' ham radio antenna tower. I had to extend the remote control cable a bit, but that's only because I want to be out from under the tower when it's in motion. The winch works great for loading things into the back of my pickup, also (e.g., 5th wheel hitch, 50 gal fuel tank, 7kW generator)and I even used it to pull my garden shed & contents to the other side of my driveway. ... show more

  • Pretty powerful
Pulled two very large pine trees out of the lake. It does need some kind of tensioner to control the cable going in and out. We spent a lot of time rewinding it.
