Works great for softer materials like wood. It's been really nice to use though. Can definitely make some cool wood burning projects. The software isn't compatible with Apple or Chromebook based computers. Have to use windows only. Was very easy to assemble and I think the price is fair for what it does.

I have a Locksmith store and we had a customer made logo. I've been trying to put it on everything i can. Keys, coasters, anything I can. This is a step in that direction. Im not a technical type of person. Anything mechanical i can figure out easy but I needed help with this. Its a fun toy and I'm learning what I can and can not engraver with it. It was simple to set up but I followed the instructions so I was sure to do everything correctly. From there my daughter was taking over. She did some practice things and then made me a coaster with my logo. Im excited!! It may be time soon to upgrade to a more powerful version so I can engraver logos and writing on brass key blanks.

This was a fun little machine to mess around with, especially for smaller DIY projects. I liked that it didn’t take up a huge amount of space, and the compact size made it feel less intimidating than bigger crafting tools. It worked well for simple engraving on small items and gave me a nice way to experiment without feeling like I needed a whole workshop setup. For a beginner-friendly engraver, it felt approachable and easy to start getting the hang of, and I could see it being great for personalized gifts, little signs, or hobby projects.

The media could not be loaded. Great little 2.5W Mini Laser Engraver, comes fully assembled. Precise engraving lines. This is nearly ready to use right out of the box. Just slide in the laser module and connect the wire. Then plug in the power supply, and connect the USB cable to the PC. The USB cable has a clever dual connector on it for either old style USB-A or modern USB-C ports. I used the USB-A port. Then install the USB drivers as described in the manual, and all works great. No software is included with this engraver. As per the included manuals, everything can be downloaded from the Wizmaker site. The main two software packages are the Free LaserGRBL or the 30-day trial of LightBurn. LightBurn can also install the USB drivers. LaserGRBL is good for engraving photos/bitmaps. LightBurn also includes design software where you can create graphics. I used LightBurn to create a grid on a wasteboard and engraved it. The engraving was very precise and clean. There was no bloom at all. All lines and text were clean and clear. I plan to use this to lay down and align coasters and other objects to engrave. The grid on this spoil board lets me quickly align objects to the drawing screen in LightBurn. This is a fairly weak laser of 2.5 watts, so I had to set the laser power levels higher than I expected. A minimum of 75%, and slow the speed down to 5000MN/MIN. This is still at a good pace and engraves very precise lines. I was very pleased to see such high quality from this little engraver. This little engraver is a significant value for $99. Keep in mind that I'm going to buy LightBurn Core for my usage, and that costs just as much as this engraver. I can spread the cost by using LightBurn for a couple of laser engravers, so this is a good way for me to go. Wizmaker has a LightBurn config file for this MINI 2.5W Engraver WIZMAKER_WANDMINI_V1.01.lbdev on their site. This will set the machine parameters in LightBurn to match this exact engraver. They also have a WizMaker WAND-Mini 2.5W Parameter Table where they list power and speed settings for many materials and vector or image types. These settings give a lot of good information to start with and can be adjusted for your needs. Manuals are included for the engraver and getting started with LightBurn, and another manual for LaserGRBL. The manuals look very thick, but they are really only a few pages that are duplicated for many languages. Overall this is a well built, the frame is solid and stable, the motors are strong, and laser quality and focus are easy to adjust and sharp. This is a very functional laser engraver to get started with.
