  • The best bang for your buck
Color: Dark Blue
What an absolutely glorious machine. And the company selling it backs their product and is very responsive. The bike is not perfect but keep in mind cyclists pay thousands and thousands of dollars for manual bikes. It is also not with its caveats but that is the nature of the beast. Oh, and it's a beast. I got this thing to ride in the mountains without exerting myself if I didn't want to. I wanted to get more carrdio after my manual labor job but between that and weight training I don't always have a ride in me. I love that you can program the pedal assist and that the entire controller is programmable. If you end up burning out your original driveline down the line or want an upgrade you can get batteries repacked in various voltages and modify the controllers voltage and amperage, even going so far as to put in a bigger motor. That sort of attention to detail is pretty stellar. Honestly I find this bike totally adequate even on the steepest hills using the correct gear and pedal assist. Speaking of those hills, coasting down them will keep your battery topped up. I left on a 15mi ride with 100% and returned with 87%. Absolutely phenomenal, And I was loaded with water snacks and gear. That's the benefit of the rear hub motor. A true must have for me now. I weigh 170lbs and this thing hauls. Let me tell you that even if you're a bit bigger this bike is no slouch. I plan on using this thing as a pak mule so watch for an update here when I get a trailer. If you're short like me don't expect to have a good time below 5'6. But look up the cowboy mount and get good at goosing the throttle and mounting the bike in motion if you're short. I'm also not ashamed to stand on something to mount the bike because it's worth a glorious rip. A center stand could help; and with maintenance. I wish it came with a rear taillight but that's easily rectified with a sensing bike tail light. I found one through Desert Prep on Amazon here as well as a manual and gear suggestions. Highly recommend his advice on settings of pedal assist; mine are perfect. This has been an excellent purchase and I am. 100% satisfied with this product and the company behind it. Thanks for a truly mesmerizing, enjoyable and utilitarian machine. -K ... show more

  • Almost Perfect, can't find better.
Color: Dark Gray
If the stronger motor was in the front, and the kickstand came with screws that did their job, I'd have nothing to complain about until titanium is normalized as a building material. But the 750w wheel struggles at high speeds and the kickstand will absolutely fall off in about a month of use. I highly recommend buying identically sized machine screws from a local hardware store and throwing out the included ones, just for the kickstand, everything else only needs tightened at worst. Hoping that the additional batteries will be available on Amazon some time soon, I don't like ordering things directly from companies across the globe. ... show more

  • Amazingly fun bike with build quality issues
Color: Dark Blue
I just crossed 1000 mile threshold on my Wallke X3 Pro. I waited this long to write this review so I would have a clear understanding of the bikes purely enjoyable aspects versus a thing that needs maintenance and upkeep over time. I think I understand both. I am a 50-year-old 6’4” 240 pound man who needed a hobby… I used to ride motorcross bikes and Mountain bikes into my mid 30s. Although I still follow both sports from afar, I didn’t participate for various reasons until I bought this Wallke X3 Pro in December 2020. Who buys an electric Mountain bike in the middle of the winter just outside of Boston? I did. The smile on my face after each ride, despite the cold, was a palpable and noticeable difference to my family. This bike was powerful, fun and let me bridge the gap between being out of shape and wanting adventure that didn’t leave me exhausted. I wanted to ride off-road only but I needed to be on the road for stretches at a time because the trails are not always continuous in my suburban Boston town. This bike seemed like it could offer the best of both worlds. If I was rating this bike purely on fun factor I would give it 5 stars. If I was rating the bike on its build quality I would give it 3 stars. My muscle memory pegs me at about 32 when I ride so I have ridden the bike hard and everywhere. The motor provides plenty of power and while it is a little abrupt, you get used to it. It is snappy and has good torque and I tend to use the thumb throttle more than relying on the pedal assist. The pedal assist works decently but does not seem to activate consistently. As such, on steep climbs I set it on PAS 1 and pin the throttle and pedal away. It climbs all but the steepest hills but the gearing is a little high and it would really benefit from a gear or two lower. Top speed with motor only on a flat is about 23 or 24mph for my large frame – decent! I have never owned an electric anything and I am very satisfied with the amount of power and most trails could be tackled with throttle only if you so desired. I generally go for 20 – 25 mile rides and I usually have between 10 to 30% battery left after each ride. You will get more or less mileage depending on how you ride but you could safely bet on a 20 mile ride with hard use of the throttle. As a full suspension bike that looks like a small motorcycle, I expected this bike to be more off-road capable than on. This is a large bike, heavy and with a higher center of gravity and step over height and may pose some challenges for smaller riders. The seat post offers tremendous adjustment up or down and I have found the maximum height very comfortable for my 6’4” frame but that does put my center of gravity way high and far back. My tip–overs have come directly from this and they have come in two varieties; a near dead stop high side fall when I can’t get my foot on the ground or a front end washout because there is not enough weight to get the front tire to bite. This leads me to my first build quality issue. The tires are better suited for mild gravel paths or pavement and struggle in more intense off-road terrain. The tread pattern is very mild and the front tire especially struggles to find bite. I have learned to stand up around sketchy corners to give more bite to the front. The rear tire fares better because there is far more weight centered over it. But, as soon as you stand up on a steep uphill, you get wheel spin as the weight transfers. You also have to run slime or liners or you will get a flat (I got two within 5 minutes of each other on an early ride) these tires are a jack of all trade and seem better suited for road or mild trail use. The suspension is decent with the front forks being far superior to the rear shock. The forks are adjustable and do a perfectly adequate job soaking up terrain. The rear shock is a spring in a can with no adjustment and at the thousand mile threshold, it has lost most of its action and bottoms out on the smallest of bumps. Again, out of the box the bike is better suited for milder terrain but it can be ridden hard and on challenging terrain with care. Can you jump it? Sure but watch the landing – ouch! Despite what may seem like mounting criticism for its off-road capabilities, this bike has taken me far and wide and I have adventured far more than I would have expected. The bones of this bike are very good and there are mostly component issues that hold it back. The first thing this bike needs is a thorough check of all the bolts and a tube of Loctite while you do this. Bolts will loosen and fall out and I had a suspension linkage bolt bend beyond repair because the fastener had fallen out. The pedals are junk and I would replace them before your first ride. They nearly fell off on my first ride despite having torqued them as tight as I could. The metal just felt soft as I was tightening them and I felt like I couldn’t trust them so I upgraded almost immediately. I also had my rear brake line develop a leak because the way it was routed through the rear suspension caused a kink as the suspension action moved. Wallke was good enough to mail me a new brake system but it took 4 weeks. Admittedly, I ride the bike hard and over terrain it probably isn’t designed for out of the box. Unfortunately, to get it to where it should be for more serious off road, I have had to make and will continue to make a number of upgrades. Overall, I am still terribly satisfied because the motor is awesome and having learned how to ride the bike more safely and effectively I have had too much fun exploring everywhere. For the price, you are getting a bike that will do almost anything you want it to do with the caveat that it will be stretched if you push it too hard. It requires more maintenance and concern over part longevity than I anticipated. Again, for the price this is the drawback you get. If you perform regular maintenance and upgrade a few of the parts I think this bike will go for the long haul. If you ride mostly on road or bike paths with an occasional trail ride it’s a great bike as is. If you believe the advertising and the “look” of the bike as a more serious off-road performer you may need to temper your expectations accordingly. Would I by the bike again? Probably not but only because I realize I want to get deeper into the trails and woods that this bike has reminded me are out there. It is 5 star fun mostly because of a great motor in a 3 star package that has suspension and tire issues that inhibit using all that power. Enjoy! ... show more

  • What more could you ask for? Full suspension, 1000w with regen and cruise control!
Color: Dark Blue
I spent months researching ebikes and chose the Wallke. #1 reason: Features, full suspension, folding, regen and cruise control with 1000w! #2: Customer service. Having equipment sourced and assembled half way around the world, you have to expect some issues. Wallke has been so on top of making sure their customers are satisfied I decided to buy. Search electric bike review Wallke forum. I ordered mine on Thursday and it arrived Sat! I was amazed. Flat Black BTW with copper logos and copper shock towers is awesome! I bought a few things to make mine a bit more comfortable, seat, grips etc. (You always have to "dial in" a bike) and contacted Wallke to clarify a few things (buy a spoke wrench and tighten your spokes. Makes a big difference) and I have put over 200 miles on it in maybe 2 weeks? The best moment was wrestling with putting it on my old hitch mounted bike rack when I suddenly thought, what are you doing fold it! On the road 10 seconds later. I have ridden this bike for hours and have never gotten the battery below 70% so far and I live in a very hilly area. I am completely thrilled with my purchase and am 100% sure I made the right decision. ... show more
