I mounted this splitter close to our wood pile and have had fun digging around to find smaller pieces of wood to split into kindling. Now I have a bucket full of kindling ready for the cold months. This splitter is heavy, well-made and was easy to mount. I love that they included the long, cheater-handle to give you more leverage (because you will need it). I can tell this is going to last a lifetime. Solid. Convenient. And helpful. If you have a wood stove or fireplace, you need a toy like this.

Its my fault, I seen it and scanned the description and said yessir. I didnot catch the last portion of the description where it says for soft wood 10" and shorter. Nor did i catch where it was for kindling. Its just not what i thought it would be but it does exactly what it says. I had some 8-10" pieces of fir and pine and it made short work if them. It would be great indoors by a buckstove or fireplace. The piece of wood in the photo is 13.5" long. you can see the very back of the blade where it engages is behind the sharpened portion. The item looks great and feels well made.
