Works pretty good.
Works well but I wish the splitter when about an inch wider so that the wood was split ea bit easier. Other than that it is fantastic, made campfires a million times easier. It's very heave and feels very durable. I've probably used it to split 40 or 50 pieces of wood multiple times and I see very little wear on it.

High quality and worked great
This is perfect for me. I have a chainsaw and cut wood into small peices but their diameter is to much for starting a fire. This makes it easy to get small pieces for starting the fire.

Pretty great but could be better
There are two reasons why this didn’t get 5 stars 1) the mounting feet are open at the end and probably should have been closed & 2) the screws they included are ridiculously short. I ended up buying 3” wood screws and 1/4” washers to hold it snug. It could have been due to the stump I mounted it on is partly deteriorating, but I just couldn’t get the splitter to stay mounted with the included screws. Otherwise, this splitter is amazing and holds up to the most brutal swings. I am currently using it to split logs between 4” and up to 8” without a major hassle. This could again be why the screws aren’t holding and why a closed bracket would be far more beneficial.

Pretty dull/not great
Not as sharp as it should be. Takes a whole lot of effort to chop- which is good if you want to build character. Not a great product if you are looking for something that cuts with ease.

Heavy duty and very handy
This is such a handy thing to have around. It makes light work of breaking up wood and kindling for our fire pit. It's built like iron...actually it IS very nice, heavy duty iron! It's not so heavy you can't move it around when you need to and it's a nice size. But, I usually leave it close to the fire pit because it's actually a nice decorative piece and it inspires people enjoying the fire to do a little splitting from time to time.

this is an awesome product, especially if you have either an indoor or outdoor fire pit, fireplace or other. you need to get a good mallet to go with it, but it is idea for splitting tinder wood to start your fires, or split bigger log pieces for burning in a woodstove. YOU WILL NOT regret getting one, and I get them all the time as gifts and have never got a bad reaction to giving them...worth the money!
