First, this does not come with a cover for the front of the camera. So, I’m not sure how weatherproof this will be when the face is still exposed to elements. I got this because I read that in really cold winters the blink camera does not always work. I thought an encasement may keep it a little warmer. Now, I’m not so sure. One thing that concerns me is it isn’t a very tight seal. I worry that over winter water will get in and freeze. What would that do to my camera? Setting up was really quite a pain. Maybe I just do not understand but there are two ways to move the camera around. Both areas require tightening. This is all hard to do while watching the screen to see the position camera is currently in. It requires 3 hands, lol. I felt like when I would get it into the right position, I would tighten it down, and it would shift out of placement. The mounting is also a lot longer and sticking out than the original one that comes with the blink. It will change your view when mounting. Consider this because you may need to raise or lower your camera from the previous position. I’m not sure what to think about this product. I’d say it is necessary in cold winters to protect your camera, but without the front face covering it seems to kind of defeat its purpose. Therefore, in my opinion this product specifically is kind of unnecessary and the original mount with the blink camera is good enough. I’m teetering between a 3 and 4 stars. The quality seems nice, even if it isn’t full protection and irritating to maneuver. For the price I guess I’d say it is worth 4 stars.
