My daughter loves using these with the other kids in the neighborhood. Its also handy for me as I can keep one and send her to the HOA playground a few houses over and easily be able to tell her when its time to come home. Its very easy for a 6 year old to figure out how to use use it once the channels are set together.

These walkie talkies worked well over a short distance. There was crystal clear communication, better than with a cell phone, with no static. But the effective range is dramatically lower than the 3 miles claimed. I tested them on a straight residential street, with no obstructions. Communication was excellent for 1/4 mile. At around 0.3 miles, some static was heard but communication was still good. The static began to overwhelm reception at 0.35 miles, and at just past 0.4 miles, the radio was not able to detect a signal from the other radio at all. A nice feature of these radios is that you don't need to provide and regularly change batteries. It comes with an installed lithium ion battery that is rechargeable. When the radios arrived, there wasn't any charge on them, so step one was to charge them up. Two charge cords are provided, one for each radio. Unfortunately, the provided cords do not fit these radios (see photo). I went through my phone cables and found one for an Android phone that fit properly. My overall rating is for the radios excluding this problem. Kids will find these radios fun. The box indicates it's good for age 3+ which is different than the Amazon write-up which says 5-13. Three years old is too young as they possibly wouldn't understand the need to push a button to talk and then release it to hear. And older kids might find these radios not particularly superior to cell phones they might be using. I would say they are a good gift for ages 5-10. Perhaps a bit pricey as a result of the built-in batteries, but you do get a pair with one purchase.

These are really great quality walkie talkies. I have a 2 story home and when we have our nephews and nieces over (ages 1-15), these have become their new favorite toy to play with. Sometimes, even my husband and I like to play around with these lol. The range on these are incredible and the they're very clear. We've created code names for each other and honestly by far the best walkie talkies I've come across. They're also rechargeable and very easy to use like mind blowingly easy. Overall, I really enjoy having these and even more so my nephews and nieces can't stop fighting over them - guess it's a sign to buy a few more sets.

The media could not be loaded. These walkie talkies are a lot of fun for my 8 and 5-year-old daughters. However, they did come with a few quirks worth noting. • The LED flashlights work regardless of whether the unit is turned on or off. This was a pleasant surprise that added a layer of excitement to my kids' covert nighttime operations. 😎 The VOX feature is great for hands free communicating, especially because my five-year-old is not quite strong enough yet to be able to push and hold the PTT feature consistently- so she has another option! 👍🏻 • The durability is impressive; they've survived some accidental drops without any issues. If my kids actually used the included lanyards that might not happen as often. But I digress. • Battery life is decent; however, they do take about four hours to fully charge AND they came with the wrong type of charging cable. I somewhat expected them to have fixed that issue after reading the same thing in another review. They came with a MicroUSB cable but require a Type C. Luckily, I have plenty of them on hand, so it was only a minor bump in the road. • Last but not least, let's talk about the instructions. HOLY COW! I expected these to be much like the walkie talkies I remember playing with as a child. You push a button, hold it, talk- then let it go after you're done. OVER AND OUT! 📻 However, when I opened the instruction booklet, I was horrified at the technical jargon. I'm an educated woman, but this stuff? Way over my head. 🛫🛬 I couldn't even tell you what was in that booklet. I didn't understand a word of it. Only by the Grace of God did I have a husband nearby who was able to set them up properly. That being said, operating them is a cinch. Playing with them is fun. The features work as advertised. My kids love them. So, what's stopping you from adding this item to your cart? GO! 🤸🏻♀️🛒

These are super easy to use. We use these with our kids when we’re walking the track and they wanna be on the playground. They have one. We have one we’re nearby but far enough where we can’t hear them so if they ever need anything they can just call us on this and we always check in with them every once in a while when we’re walking, they were perfectly and have gone pretty big distances. There’s plenty of channels hearing and talking to choose from but make sure both walkie-talkies are on the same two channels. Otherwise you can hear them but you can’t talk to them but kids love them and we love him. They definitely do come in handy and the very lightweight and small so they easily clip on or go around your neck without being too bulky or heavy a huge family must have.

It’s hard to know how to rate a product that comes with the wrong charging cables - don’t gift them!! I had to order my own because I didn’t have the right ones already, and that sucks. Kiddo was bummed with the wait. But! Other than that, my kiddo and her buddy spent *hours* playing with these around the church tonight. They had an absolute blast - walkie talkies bring a high level of joy while getting kids to use their imaginations and play “old school.” The interface was pretty easy to learn, and I have no complaints!
