I am very happy with this purchase! The markdown price was unbeatable, but I was still worried about the quality and the condition it would be in from shipping. While the box ends were slightly torn, inside was perfect. Aside from just the foam protecting everything, they added some heavy wooden boards on each end for better protection, very impressed. Directions were pretty easy to follow, a little time consuming but everything fit together nicely. I was even more impressed with the backing. A lot of cheaper furniture has a thin cardboard-like backing with perforated holes to pop out for the wires. This was actual solid wood with the same thickness as the rest of the unit. Very nice! Firstly, the stand looks really nice. The wood grain makes it look high end. I really like this piece of furniture and would purchase it again. However, when you go to assemble it, the instructions aren't clear on the dowels. You'll be instructed to insert dowels into multiple pieces, and it will appear that you don't have enough. You do. They're just used to connect two pieces together, and you already put them into the first piece. ALSO. Make sure you read the first few pages. I skipped to the step-by-step instructions and did not use the glue to secure the dowels, because it was in the general guidelines at the front of the booklet. While it's not 100% necessary (I've assembled other pieces of furniture with dowels and no supplied glue), it would have been nice to use for extra stability and joint longevity. ... show more

Was quicker to assemble than the directions indicated. I put the pieces that hold the shelves on backwards and had to backtrack but was still finie in about an hour. Love the fireplace look and it holds a 70" TV well. Bought inexpensive risers to raise the TV above the sound bar. Looks great and it very solid for particle board. ... show more

The assembled stand is pretty sturdy, decent to look at and a good value. However, I'm docking a star for three reasons. First, I had to drill out some missing holes. It was time consuming and risky because the holes for the dowels are very large relative to how thick the 'boards' are and there's little margin for error. Second, the stickers you get to cover the holes are kind of sketch to begin with, but no biggie on sides, hidden or even interior surfaces, but to have to place some on the face of the unit is ridiculous and a sign of poor design. As much as they say they blend in, you can't ignore that they only blend in 75%. They don't disappear. Lastly, assembly is pretty easy and straightforward until the last step where you put the 'lid' on. During this step you have to line up 8-10 each of dowels and cam units, plus align the back pieces in their little tracks. It all has to be perfect for the cams to do their job, otherwise it'll wobble to and fro. Again, time consuming. Fourth (of three gripes) - half the little dowels were undersized and the little bit of glue they give you is insufficient to make them tight enough to do their job of joining the pieces. Conclusion: the unit looks ok and will do the job, but easily could be better. ... show more

I've been wanting one of these for awhile. This was a good deal so I bought it for myself for Christmas lol. My adult kids put it together. It was seamless and didn't take that long. It goes well with the rest of my furniture. My house is small so this is a great addition. Even though it doesn't have a remote included I still love it... one more thing to lose right? I’ve been shopping for a fireplace TV for some time, for my small apartment. I downsized last year and have been replacing older large furniture. I actually discovered fireplace TV stands by accident. I knew I wanted a Walker Edison because their products are excellent. I was concerned about assembling this one on my own as I recently had a knee replacement. My lack of mobility meant that it took me a long time to assemble, over four hours. I had zero problems as the instructions were excellent and the holes perfectly drilled. The packaging was superior with wooded pieces at each end of the large box for added protection. Everything was well labeled, and the instructions were the best I’ve ever seen. I have zero mechanical aptitude by the way. The stand is perfect for my 65” TV, and the right height for my small space. I love that I can have the appearance of the fire without heat if I choose. The fireplace puts out just enough heat that I can lower my central heat thermostat. I’m a very happy customer! ... show more
