The color isn't quite a sage green...more like a mint green. Putting it together was really easy. I love the way it looks in the area we chose. As for sturdy, it seems sturdy enough, I weigh a little over 200 and the chairs seem fine. I am however having a hard time finding some cushions that match, my husband prefers the cushion, however I am fine without. For the value you are getting a good bang for your buck. This table has served us well, and does its job. However, I definitely would not recommend getting it in white if you have children. For some reason, the white coating they used holds on to colors and won't let go of stains, even after scrubbing and scrubbing with a magic eraser. Our tabletop looks like a modern art piece now.
