I really like this unit. Think the hand held is vastly superior to the little Scott push spreader I was struggling with. I feel like I have far more control over speed, direction, amount and location of whatever I’m trying to spread. Being up high on your hip, instead of down low to the ground, you can get a nice wide spread, getting things covered much faster. Now, having said all that, there are some caveats. You have to keep a firm grip on the unit to keep it pointed straight ahead. Its tendency is to lay across your hip at an angle, giving you quite a bit of blow back on your right hip. Also, no matter what you do, your right hand is going to get hit with material as you turn the crank. So, I put on a shop apron and a nitrile glove and get to it . If you can live with that, this is the unit for you.

The only reason it gets one star is because I can't leave a no star review. Absolute Chinese garbage. Extremely cheaply made. The gears were bad right out of the box and the bag tore immediately

What should be an easy assembly is not. You will have to work from inside and outside the bag at the same time; while not trying to align bolts with the holes from inside the bag. As well as holding parts in place and trying to thread a nut from under the bottom side. The tools provided are virtually of no value. The Phillip's screwdriver is to small for the bolt heads and the wrench is to thin to effectively hold the bolt on the outside while turning the bolts inside the bag. Once assembled, I think it will work as it should. However, I am concerned about the durability of all the plastic parts.
