I’d be happy to review the product if I could ever get it out of the packaging and try it. I’m not joking. I’ve had it for about a week, I guess, and have spent a ridiculous amount of time trying to get the shaver/trimmer out of the hard plastic packaging. So far, I have succeeding in getting the little bottle of oil, the little brush and the charging cord out of the bottom. I have used heavy duty scissors and a number of other things to try and get this open. Laugh if you will, but I’m in my late fifties with arthritis in both hands.     • If you aren't going to try, why bother?
Total garbage, went into the trash before even halfway through a trim. Makes loud grinding noises when tilted and doesn't even cut. Tried disassembly and reassembly, no change. Oil, no change. Wahl, you didn't even try with this miserable thing.

    • A good trimmer at a good price
I've purchased the Wahl a few times now and use it to trim my beard, mustache, and sideburns. It's easy to use, does a good, close job without too much fuss (I'm not particularly interested in the attachments, but that's just me), and holds up over time. I've rarely had to replace the batteries in earlier trimmers, but replacing them is no big deal. When a Wahl has met its maker, I simply replace it and continue on as before. I have had one of these for several years, and recently while cleaning it I somehow popped a spring out, which flew under the bathroom vanity, never to be seen again.     • Trimmer OK; Stand useless
I was familiar with the Wahl trimmer which is why I ordered it. But the stand is so flimsy and awkward, even for holding the attachments, not to mention the trimmer, to be of any use. Wahl can use a lesson from Conair about trimmer stands. The Conair stand is very sturdy and is part of the recharging system. To recharge the trimmer, one simply inserts the trimmer into a prong in the stand and voila! A tiny red light indicates the system is working. When needed, the trimmer is simply lifted up from the stand and reinserted when the job is done. With Wahl, one needs to unplug the trimmer from the charger each time it's used and plugged back in afterward. This is no big deal but the stand is not sturdy enough to hold the trimmer upright while being charged. ... show more

I like Wahl beard trimmers. The last one I had was battery operated, and I wanted one that was rechargeable. This model looked promising. It was only after getting the item that I discovered the recharger is only for 120V. This beard trimmer is useless for taking overseas. I looked carefully at the website description before and after receiving the trimmer, and can't find any indication that the charger is only for North America. ... show more
