Love these. I was a little wary of the 90 degree cut, but once I got used to them I realized that this is the way clippers should be for people who cut their own hair. It gives your hand a comfortable angle to make a clean and even cut so you do a nice job. The charge seems to last for quite a while, I cut my hair once a week and I maybe charge them every month, month and a half. They do a good job and they come with a good deal of guides in different lengths. Very happy with the build quality - I highly recommend these for anyone. ... show more

    • Clippers are great, everything else is trash
The clippers themselves are very good. They seem sturdy, run smoothly, feel good in the hand, work well at their intended design of cutting your own hair, charge quickly, last a long time, and don't make much noise. They're not as quiet as the high-end clippers that barbers use, but I've probably used a dozen different models of clippers over the years and these are among the quietest. That said, it's really *just* the clippers that are good in this set. The guards are OK but they don't seem the sturdiest or most durable. The comb, brushes, and scissors included are as cheapo as it gets. The case is absolutely next-level cheap plastic, the kind that shatters if you look at it wrong. Mine arrived already cracked and falling apart, so I just threw it away. Packaging is also very bad - I thought I'd mistakenly gotten a return or a refurb in a plain paper-thin brown box until I realized that no, that's actually how Wahl thinks their product should look. This kit first hit my radar a few years ago when it came out new for a hundred bucks. I would have been really dissatisfied with it for that price. Over the years, though, it eventually went on sale for a third of that, and that feels like a pretty reasonable price for what I got. ... show more

This is a great kit for those interested in cutting their own hair. The SmartCut design of this particular clipper set really makes a difference in the handling of the blades. Prior to purchasing this kit I would usually have my hair cut short for simple styling purposes. And now after having this clipper kit I was able to cut my own hair for the first time ever in about 7 minutes. The clippers charge fast via USB (15 minutes for a quick charge) and would be ideal for those who are on the go for work. ... show more

    • If you’re looking for a close shave, then keep looking
I’ve been buzzing my head for over 20 years now I’ve gone through many clippers. These are by far the worst I have ever used. I was off work for two weeks so I had two weeks worth of growth, using these clippers without a guard I can barely get any of that growth. I couldn’t even cut the hair short enough to use my foil clippers, I ended up having to use a razor blade shaver to shave my head. I even had to put my eyeglasses back on just to make sure that they were actually Wahl clippers they were that bad. If you buzz your own head and you like a close shave stay away from these. I don’t know if I can get my money back since I’ve used them, but I’m certainly going to try. They usually make great clippers but these are terrible at getting a close shave without the guards. Something I thought that didn’t have to be implied considering they are designed for buzzing your own head or so I thought. It feels good in your hand so if I did get a close shave I probably would keep them. I’ve never had this problem with Wahl. Hopefully they redesign it for a closer shave. Just changed it to 1 star. These clippers are complete trash. I just went to use it to see if it works ok on body hair at least. I turned it on and the blade started making a very loud sound and it’s obviously off the track the blades are going past the metal guard. I just smashed it into tiny pieces out of frustration. Product function is amazing with the exception of short battery life. I use it briefly twice a week for about 10 minutes and the battery has to be recharged. Unfortunate but for my personal use it gets the job done.
