So, this phone mount is pretty cool. If you like the look of the "hat" that provides shade for the screen when outdoors, it's pretty ingenious. If you don't like the look of the hat, you don't have to use it. The grips on the phone holder hold the phone tightly...it would take quite a jarring for the mount to lose the phone. My phone barely fits into the holder at 7" tall and 3 5/16" wide with the case. Finally, where the grips hold the phone get in the way of my earphone/aux cable outlet, so it can't be accessed when in the case.
