  • Prints beautifully!
Color: Grey
Using this in my Voxelab Aquila printer and it is beautiful. I would call the finish "satin" - it's not quite matte, but it's not glossy. When sanded, it does give a nice matte finish. The prints have been very smooth and I haven't had any issues using this filament. I have even left it out in the open (not in a dry box) for a few weeks and it's still working perfectly. It is a great value! My only nitpicky thing: The grey color has a bit more of a blueish tint to it than I would like, but it still looks good. ... show more

  • Voxelab makes a great PLA+/pro!!
Color: Natural
I just printed my way through a 1kg roll of Voxelab's PLA+ natural and I must admit, I'm pretty impressed with the results; no stringing, warping or bed separation whatsoever! The natural-filament printed great at ~212c on a 60c bed without any assistance and the prints are STRONG... they even have a pleasantly "sweet" smell to them, so that's a bonus. I experimented with infill %, sanding and painting the parts, gluing parts together and this PLA+ happily hung in there through all of it. I even left this filament sitting out while prototyping and never noticed any water degradation or even "popping" at the printer-nozzle during prints. Like I said before, impressive performance and impressive results. Only criticism I can muster, is the limited color choices in Voxelab's catalogue. It's safe to assume PLA+ in flat-black, OD/military green, and crimson red would sell like mad, but that's a small gripe about a great product. Buy it! Try it! You'll be buying more, trust me... ... show more

  • Product not true to picture.
Color: Pla Red
Was looking for a deeper, darker red color, which is why I picked this product over its compeditors, as the picture shows a dark red. Nope. It is a very bright red that is almost orange. Much brightor than most reds. So thanks for the false advertising. The only reason I'm not returning this is that it is my only spool and for a new setup, and I want to go ahead and get my printer going for the first time. Very dissatisfied. ... show more

  • Orange-Red
Color: Pla Red
It seems to be printing well at 210⁰C onto a 60⁰C glass bed, with no problems with adhesion, stringing or curl/warp. My gripe, despite the disclaimer, is that it's a very orange-red - which was not really what I had in mind when I chose to buy some red filament; for others, this might be ideal.

  • Durable, good dimensional accuracy, fun to color
Color: Natural
This PLA Pro is as strong as any other PLA+ / PLA Pro. The dimensional accuracy is pretty good and the quality too, see Bench pics. This PLA Pro filament is more durable than plain Matterhackers PLA and the Matterhackers makes every-so-slightly pretty prints, just barely, and I could probably tune better. I use a Prusa i3 Mk3s and the "eSun PLA" filament presets. Note that all of my pics were from the same spool. The natural filament is translucent and can be colored with markers! I used the "Sharpie color marker blender" by Devin Montes @MakeAnything. The end result is usually a little lighter than markers - you'll get the hang of it. ... show more

  • Warping and adhesion are both issues with this filament
Color: Green
I took a chance on this PLA Plus (Green and Orange) because of the cost and I liked the color green. I typically use Inland PLA Plus and have great success with it. I thoroughly dried the green filament using my filament dryer and tried to print using my standard Inland PLA Plus settings, (215 tool/55 bed) - Even at proper bed leveling, I got a ton of stringing, and 'cotton candy' on the first layer. I did a temp tower and noticed that NONE of the temps (180 to 225) matched the quality of print I was getting from the Inland filament. Nonetheless I went with 205 as the temp to try to print at. Still no luck. Squishing the first layer too much resulted in a useless torn up mess, not squishing enough led to warping after 3 layers. Returned both spools. Do not recommend... ... show more

  • Tempermental and Problematic
Updated Review: eFire indicated that the original spool I received was not their product. They offered to replace the product. This review applies to the second spool -- which was a different color and had a different label on the spool itself. Neither spool was specifically identified as Voxelab or eFire. I had mixed results using this new spool. Only 2 of my first 8 attempts were successful, and both of those did have some minor "stringy" elements. As I experimented with minor tweaks to temperature, speed, and thickness, I drew two inferences. First, there is a bed adhesion problem. Most noticeable on where there is a thin line or wall at the base of the item being printed. Using a "brim" helps, but not cure the problem. Second, there is a self adhesion problem; two prints (each of which had been successfully printed with another PLA) failed about 2/3rds into the print when the job tried to print a horizontal surface above open space (e.g., similar to the roof on Benchy tug boat). After the 2 out of 8 run, I did run three more tests to see if my speculation on when the product should work was correct. All three jobs had a "solid" base, no thin lines, no sharp turns, no points. All three jobs were relative straight vertically or tapered in; one job did have a stair step pattern that included short, unsupported horizontal areas. I considered all three of these successful. Again, minor "stringiness" on each; but, nothing to prevent the items from being used; and, no consistency to when/where it occurred. Great color; my fourth purple spool and easily the color I like best. When it works, it produced a smooth, sharp finish (other than the occasional "loose thread"). My conclusion ... Usable within strict limitations. But, not something I would recommend. Original Review: Caveat emptor! Do not buy this product. Nothing but goo, glob, and stings+. I have a relatively new ASX1 printer. I went through a complete spool of Hatchbox PLA and had one adhesion issue that did not re-occur once I cleaned the bed. I tried this product based on price and color. Color is OK, a bit muted I think, but it's hard to tell since I never did see a final print. Adhesion issues -- never could print any one item. Frequent "bloting" or globs of filament, stinging (spider webbing). I tried change temperature. Tried changing speeds. Check bed level several times. Nothing worked. I could not get a print to get beyond 2-4 layers before the print failed. I replaced this PLA with another one from Hatchbox. It took several bed cleanings and extensive nozzle cleaning. Even took 2 failed prints -- failures when purple VoxeLab filament mysteriously appeared in my navy blue print. Since then, I have had 4 successful prints with the Hatchbox product. Every attempted print with Voxelab went in the garbage. Now that I know the problem, the rest of the roll of Voxelab is headed to the garbage also. ... show more
