  • How do you Poach 2 Eggs? No instructions for THAT?
It is such a Tiny Little Appliance. Perfect for any small kitchen. It worked perfectly for my son last night. HOWEVER when he plugged it in the light was on. Not sure if that was the way it was supposed to be. He walked away for about 15 minutes or more and when he came back he had 7 perfect hard boiled eggs. I asked him about the light and he just shrugged his shoulders. So I still doidn't know if the light goes off when it is DONE? This morning I read the instruction: *Plug the unit into power socket, press down the power button and THE INDICATOR LIGHT WILL SHOW that the egg boiler is working. *The power will be turned off once the water in the egg boiler is empty. It will indicate the steamed egg is ready WHEN THE INDICATOR LIGHTS. OK - I'm TOTALLY CONFUSED! Now I know why my son just shrugged his shoulders. So THE INDICATOR LIGHT WILL SHOW that the egg boiler is working AND AND AND... WHEN THE INDICATOR LIGHTS it tells you the power has been turned off. Is it just MEEEEEE or what? PLUS there isn't any instructions anywhere that tells you how to make Poached eggs in the little plastic dish. It is not Teflon or Silicone - so I can see that being a royal cleanup mess or having to soak it before attempting to clean it. I"m thinking of buying a similar size Silicone bowl and using that... as long as it fits in/under the dome. ;>) As of now - I have no idea on how much water to use and long it takes to make 2 poached eggs in the Poaching dish... or how much water to use and how long to steam a small handful of fresh or thawed out veggies. My son loves it for the hard boiled eggs - BUT I'd Like to use it for Poached Eggs and Steam Veggies... as soon as my son lets me know if the power is on when the light is on or off. Does anyone know how to make two completely poached eggs with no clear runny egg whites? About how much water would I use and for approximately how long to steam it? And how about the veggies? OH - BIG PLUS HERE! I half expected this to have one of those el-cheapo wall plugs like all the Chinese/Japanese electronic items have - like I get all the time on eBay. You know - the plugs that do not have a Pos/Neg and won't even stay in the wall! This have a very sturdy well made Polarized plug with the 3rd prong. I AM VERY IMPRESSED with this. See how Tiny this is and fits in any corner? Thanks, ;>) ... show more

  • Works Great...with a little practice :)
Just received the egg cooker today. Previously to this cooker, I was boiling two extra large eggs in a pan of water for about 10 minutes to get soft boiled eggs that I like. Once in a while an egg would break and that was a little messy. Keep a few extra eggs on hand to get the results you want by adjusting the amount of water. It took me three tries with two eggs each to get what I wanted... with cooking time less than 10 minutes. The water measuring container markings are almost impossible to see. You will see three egg symbols at different levels on the container, Well Done, Medium Well, and Medium. I started with the medium level for two, which I assumed was for soft boil, and the eggs came out a little to runny.Once I got the right level of water, I took a nail and scratched the container to mark it.When the light goes off, the eggs are done and power goes off. Took the shelf out with the eggs, and ran them under cool water for a few seconds. Be careful, the heating plate stays quite warm for a while. After the plate cooled, I cleaned it with a little rust, lime, calcium remover, and a final wipe down with a little water... So far so good. There are no directions for poaching an egg .... so I guess I will try to do it with the same trial and error method... someday. Okay... Next day... Could not resist doing a poached egg. I put the raw egg, no water, in the poaching container...put about the same amount of water as I did with the soft boiled eggs on the heating plate...put the container on the shell rack...replaced the hood...turned it on... and I got a poached egg... But the egg pretty much stuck to the container :( Next try... did the same thing... except I lightly coated the inside of the container with olive oil and bingo, it was easy to remove :) Again, I easily cleaned the heating plate with a little rust, lime, calcium remover. Update: 10-9-15 Cooker still works great...Have used it most every day since I purchased it.,,Heating plate is still in perfect condition. Did learn that if I warm my two extra large eggs under the warm water faucet for a few seconds, I have no need to punch a hole in the eggs. ... show more
