Top Amazon Reviews

Very Good
Set name: 16 inch-orange
Edit: see new comment at the end of this review. I chose this Voltask over its competitors on Amazon because: 1) it has wheels 2) it has directional "fins" 3) at 16" it is wider than most power snow shovels so requires fewer passes to clear the snow. 4) the batteries go into the base unit instead of at the top of the handle. Having the battery weight lower allows the unit to stand up unattended. I am not sure whether competitors with the batteries at the top would stand up or if the top-heavy weight would make them fall. The unit was very easy to assemble. Although most of the unit is plastic, it is well-built. I have used it three times so far: The first time was with about an inch of VERY heavy slushy snow. It threw the snow maybe 3 feet, but enough to do the job. After a while, the directional fins got stuck and would only turn to one side, not the other. The Voltask was very easy to maneuver. After completing my 30' x 16' driveway and about 20 feet of 3' sidewalk, the battery indicators showed they were down only one light out of three. The second use was with about 2-3 inches of average wetness/weight snow. It threw it about 6-7 feet. It took about half the time and 1/4 of the effort compared to using a manual snow shovel. The directional fins did not get stuck this time and proved useful. The third time was with 3-4" of semi-fluffy snow. The Voltask threw it about 10 feet. The city snow plow left about 6-8" at the end of the driveway and it cut through that with no problem. The fins operated normally and didn't get stuck. The wheels have proven to be a big plus for the Voltask. In some situations I needed to pull it backwards. Without wheels, it would have just drug on the concrete. The wheels make it easy to pull backwards. The directional fins help. They only rotate to 30 degrees in each direction, so are somewhat limited, but having them is still a plus compared to most of its competitors. The 16" width is a plus. Most competitors are 12"-13" The batteries have easily lasted long enough to complete the job each time I have used it. The battery charger has slots for both batteries so you can put them in the charger at the same time. Cons/areas for improvement: 1) Like all the power snow shovel brands, a longer main handle/shaft would be nice. If I had needed to use the extra D-shaped second handle, (the one that attaches to the main shaft below the main handle), I would have had to bend over, which my back would not appreciate. For at least the two times I have used it so far, I did not have to use that extra handle and was able to stand up straight and use only the top handle (I am 6 feet tall). A deeper or wetter snow may require using the second handle to get more leverage to push through the snow. Time will tell in that regard. UPDATE: I was able to go through 6-8" of snow left by the city plow at the end of the driveway without needing to use the extra handle. 2) The directional fins, while a plus for even having them, are limited to 30 degrees in each direction and got stuck the first time I used it. The heavy snow got caught in the fins and prevented them from turning in one direction. The next two uses with snow that wasn't so slushy, the fins operated with no problem. The lever to change the fin direction is on the base so you have to bend over to change it. Overall, I am very pleased with this purchase. Edit in January of 2026. The snow shovel stopped working after two years of use. I contacted Voltask via their website. Their customer service was the best I have encountered in a long time. They responded very quickly to my e-mails, sometimes in less than an hour. After guiding me through some basic troubleshooting, they asked for a screenshot of my Amazon invoice. I provided that, and on the same day I sent it, they shipped a replacement under warranty. Excellent company! ... show more

Bought To Make My Snow Shoveling Life Easier
Set name: 16 inch-orange
Preliminary Experience: 4.5 Star (final rating will be based on snow performance) Snow Performance: 1) Will update when it snow. From preliminary experience of testing the unit, the motor seems powerful. I typically won't write a review until I test every aspect of the product but forecast shows that there won't be any snow soon even though I had to shovel before I order this. Pro: 1) Battery came fully charged plus it has a button for battery indicator 2) Flash Light came charged and has red/green light indicator for charging. 3) Wrench was provided. Previously review said no wrench was provided so that mean the company is listening to feedback and making improvement. 4) Included a USB to USB-C cable (~ 3 ft). I just use my phone charger. 5) Safety button included. Press safety and hold it with thumb before squeezing handle to start. 6) Ease of movement with wheel. Got it so that my parent in their upper 60s can use it when I'm not available to do so. 7) Seems to be quick duo slot charging. Fully charged mine in ~10min after I play test it. Description said it take like 30-90min to charge. Con: (-0.5 star) -1a) Hole is not drilled through or threaded as mentioned by some reviewers. I faced similar issue but it's not true. Upon closer inspection, the handle has a double tubing. The inside tubing was shifted to the side so I used a wrench and turn it clockwise/ccw. Simple fix in less than 5 sec. See included pics and vid. -1b) While this may due to shipping impact causing it to move (probably more of QC since I need a wrench to move turn it), I would suggest the company to put like paper roll into the hole to hold it into place. Spare them fee from user-return. Neutral 1) Light bulb are cool but not really needed in my area that is well lit. Plus I wouldn't want to use this at night due to noise level. 2) Unit does have some weight to it. From description, about 20 lb. I can carry it with one hand but most likely will end up using two. It may be a bit heavy for elderly and less fit personel. You can push it on it wheel no problem even for elder, but should reconsider if you need to carry it up or down the stair. I suppose you can drag it but that may scratch the unit or wooding. 3) Directional Knob. Turning it to change the fin direction require more strength than what I see from video review. Rough comparison of strength needed would be opening a soda bottle cap per notch turned. 4) Replacement/Extra battery is expensive since it needed two. I would be willing to pay a bit more if the battery capacity was larger for 1 hour usage. 5) Noise level is similar to a home vacuum. 6) Battery compartment cover uses a hinge. I fear it may break down one day if I do it too roughly. Assembly - Pretty straight forward with 5 steps. 1. Insert screw into upper handle and tighten with knob (by hand) 2. Insert screw into bottom handle and tighten with knob 3. Insert handbar onto handle and tighten with knob 4. Insert flash light onto handle and tighen with knob 5. Insert handle into unit then tighten screw with included wrench. Done. Tips 1) When the blade is in front, the unit will stand by itself due to more weight. When the blade is toward the back, the unit is prone to fall over and have to lean against the wall for storage which many reviewer were facing. You can manually turn the blade for this. Make sure to you remove battery and such for safety reason. 2) When attaching handle to unit, make sure it is fully inserted. Otherwise, the screw will not reach. If you rub your finger across it, it must be smooth between the crevices. I have seen pics of other reviewer where it was not fully push in and gave negative review. ... show more

Works as advertised
Set name: 16 inch-orange
I am pretty happy with this product. I had earlier purchased a different model from a different manufacturer but sent it back because it didn't throw the snow more than a few feet. This Voltask model does a much better job at that. I have a long driveway, and because my garage door is on the back of the house, there is a large paved turn-around area to shovel as well. I live in an area that gets a few big snows each winter, but not enough to warrant a full-sized snowblower. So this kind of product is just right for my needs. I was able to do my full driveway and turn-around area in 15 minutes. There are many similar products on the market, and this is not the cheapest one but you get what you pay for. If you are shopping, I recommend you get one that has wheels, which many do not, because it makes it easier to maneuver. And although this is definitely easier than manual shoveling, it does still take some effort to push, so the wheels help. Also, because I had a bad experience with the first one I bought, I decided to make sure I bought the second one from a company that actually has a web page with troubleshooting tips and a contact page. The first one I bought was an obscure model and I could find no help when it didn't work right. I have only had the opportunity to use this once so far -- on about 5 inches of fairly dry snow. It will probably struggle with heavier snow, so when that happens, I will see how it does with 3-4 inches and make another pass later if needed. If your driveway is smooth, this product will take it right down to the pavement. If it is not smooth, you can tilt it back slightly to go over the bumps and leave an inch or so of snow. This comes with two batteries, and at first, I assumed the second one was the spare, but it actually uses both batteries at the same time. I was concerned about this because I wanted to have a backup battery fully charged in case the first one ran out of power before the job was done. This turned out not to be a problem, and I was able to do the full job on one charge. ... show more

This snow shovel is a beast!
Set name: 16 inch-orange
I was first curious about a smaller Voltask snow shovel so I purchased it to give it a try. I live in the Northeast and in a snow skiing town. I have a large green gas powered snow blower and a large area to clear. When I received the cordless Voltask snow shovel I could not believe how powerful and easy to was to clear the snow! I started to tell my friends and co workers how amazing it was. After having a few snow events I realized I was not using my green machine anymore. So I decided to purchase the next level 20volt Voltask snow shovel. This machine is amazing, it clears the snow and throws it nice and far. The battery life is never an issue. I contacted customer service as a very large snow storm was predicted to ask about the 48volt newer model since I now have some extra help at home. I spoke with Lucy and she was just so helpful and courteous that I soon had the 48 Volt unit also! These machines are no joke and you definitely will not be disappointed. Give them a try, it will really be a great move and purchase. ... show more

It's Great! Amazing Customer Service if needed!
Set name: 16 inch-orange
5 - Star Rating, the Voltask Snow Shovel is even better than advertised! I live in Northwestern Pennsylvania and although I have a very large and powerful Snow Blower, I needed a machine that I could use for my front sidewalk, patio, and around my tool shed so I invested a great deal of time reading up on cordless snow shovels. I narrowed the field to three and then to one based on convenience, size, performance and price. The Voltask 48v, 16 inch by 8 inch was the right answer and I assure you, not only does this snow shovel work very well but the support team surpasses all expatiations. Our area has been hit hard this winter and this shovel can deal with the lightest or heaviest of snow, all you need to do is take a little more time with the wet or crusty snow. The snow shovel will work hard for you and the batteries will last 30 to 45 minutes per use; plus, they charge very quickly. If you have a lot of steps to clean, the shovel will become a little heavy after 15 or 20 minutes - not unmanageable but not as easy to hold up and press/push in on the next step. The overwhelming plus is being able to use this shovel in any snow condition without worry of overpowering it, that is - use common sense and make sure to direct the snow discharge in the area you want it. Now, with that said, the path to success was not 1,2,3, it was fraught with many manageable obstacles starting with my having to use my daughter to order the Voltask Snow Shovel on Amazon, I am an old 75 and not computer literate thus the order was placed in mid December of 2025 and for some unknown reason it never came. Rather than taking a refund we reordered it, it came in January of 2026 a month or so ago. When I received the box and started to put it together I noticed that the instructions were not as clear or detailed as the rest of the booklet or as needed to answer questions you will have during the process. Things like, why are the wires so difficult to maneuver inside the handle/tube, will you pinch or cut a wire, and/or break something by forcing them into the tube so that you can put the handle together; and, how tight should the bolts be in order to form a correct connection when inserting the handle into the machine and then (using the bolts and wrench supplied) tightening them, drawing the handle connection into the machine. I believe that the company thinks we are all smart enough to know how to put the snow shovel together by pictures and that we do not read anyway. Well the shovel worked perfectly the first two times of use, then for some reason it would not start - I checked everything; the connections, batteries, the booklet for trouble shooting and followed the steps of charging/heating the batteries for 10 minutes, nothing worked. I then decided to contact the Voltask support team, I first telephoned the California number with no answer and then I sent an e-mail not expecting much in return. I honestly thought I was in for a big problem, a Chinese manufacturer with an American Front, and yes, I am somewhat prodigious - I am a believer in buying American! WOW - was I ever shocked, in a very short period of time I received a very nice helpful e-mail from a person named Lily, a Support Team member. For the next week and a half or so we exchanged many e-mails trying to determine what was the problem; was it, the very cold temperatures, the connections, the on/off switch, the batteries, the charger, the wiring itself, and/or maybe a combination thereof. During every e-mail exchange Lily was helpful, friendly, caring and genuine; I could not ask for a better business relationship, it was as though I was a major stock holder in the firm; and, a family member!! In the second week of trying to figure out what the problem was, (some times it would start and work perfectly and other times it would not) Lily voluntarily offered me a new Voltask Snow Shovel at no cost or expense; and to my surprise, this is what she and the company did, I received at not cost the same new snow shovel and it has worked perfectly. All I can say is thank you very much for a support person who represents what we all wish for but very seldom receive in todays market place - Perfection in respect of humanity, products and for the process of doing business. Sincerely - Joe F. Pennsylvania ... show more

POS
Set name: 16 inch-orange
I purchased this snow blower a week ago and I was very impressed with how it moved the snow, I also purchased 2 extra batteries because we can get lots of snow at one time. So far I recommend this. 2 days later I have to move the snow out back, about a 5 minute walk with the machine. I get ready (about 6 or 7 minutes) and the machine will NOT RUN!! I checked the batteries and full charge on both, I also had the second pair and full charge. Nothing, it will not work, checked the trouble shooting guide, batteries may be to cold?? I put both on charger as recommend waited 10 minutes went out back and the machine still will not work, it's 45 degrees outside and the damn thing won't work. Really?? So, at this point I don't recommend unless you get snow above 40°F UPDATE I was able to use the blower out back. Please take note of what I had to do Move the snow blower to where you are going to begin; Having the batteries on charger for at least 10 minutes as per the troubleshooting guide. Take the 2 batteries and protect them (inside a sweatshirt pocket or similar); Rush/ hurry (don't run) to the blower and install the batteries quickly and turn the blower on. I was able to complete my work without having any problems, except, do not let go of the trigger (I had mine stop and had to do the process over) So this machine will do a great job (temp. permitting) in moving snow, (wet snow is a little more difficult) my county plow operator was surprised. Okay, had this almost a month and I have had the opportunity to use it several times, 1- if you can get the batteries in quick enough to get it started DO NOT let the motor stop or you will have to begin all over. 2- assuming you have the blower running, it will move snow (light and dry is best) just don't force it, and as the manufacturer says up to about 6" . 3- I suggest at least 2 extra batteries (I should have bought another pair (6 total) because I am writing this because I have not been able to get my machine started for an hour (it's 31° F) and I am extremely disappointed and will not purchase any thing from this company again. Difficult to assemble but works OK
Set name: 16 inch-orange
I am giving this power snow shovel 3 stars at best because (1) it turned out to be quite difficult to assemble and (2) It threw the snow mostly forward rather than to the side. It came on time and was packed nicely in its box. My wife and I removed all the parts and began assembling it per the written instructions. Unfortunately, things went wrong quickly. The electric cord running from the handle switch to the motor in the shovel was too long. The cord runs through the handle posts and we could not get the handle's pieces together for over 30 minutes. I finally had to jamb them together with all my strength and bend/stuff the cord into the handle to get them to secure. Then, when I tried to insert the handle into the machine and secure it with two Allen wrench bolts, one of the bolts was a bit too short and simply would not go. It's hole was also a bit off from the hole under it so both bolt holes did not line up. I fooled with it for an hour to no avail. Seems many reviewers found the same problem with too short a bolt and poor alignment. What stupidity! Most returned the blower, so this is a problem that the design engineers caused and is easily fixable with a longer bolt. I finally had to rummage in my spare parts bin and find a metric bolt of a longer length with the same metric threads, then use a metric socket wrench to finally get the handle screwed down into the machine. Once I did, charged the two batteries and inserted them into the battery compartments on the machine, the shovel turned on fine. All in all, it took me almost 2 hours to assemble the shovel. Edit: It snowed about 8 inches, so I was able to use the shovel. I can only give it maybe a 3-star rating for removing snow. First, 8" of snow is too much. The shovel stopped at least ten times and I had to restart. 2ndly, the tines that throw the snow to the side were hard to angle, and the snow only went at perhaps a 20 degree angle. Mostly, it tossed the snow forward. The wind then blew it back in my face. Also, the tines quickly packed with snow and I had to spray them with silicone spray and push hard to adjust the throwing angle to the other side when coming back down my driveway. While all blowers require adjustment for every pass, this one was tedious because it has only a 12" path so I had to move it around a lot. That said, I couldn't clean off my driveway without it (I'm too old for manual shoveling), so ... Batteries lasted OK (maybe 30 minutes) but I am an elderly man and pushing this heavy power shovel through the snow was hard for me & my wife. Nevertheless, I have kept it and used it again a month later when it snowed 7 inches. It was not easy but a lot easier than manual shoveling. ... show more
