I want to put these everywhere to brighten up my dark home. Just installed first two in hallway where I had one standard builder grade fixture and it made a huge difference. I have lights set on middle setting and they are so bright. I love the low profile and they are so light and easy to pop in and adjust lighting. Here are my complaints and the reason I marked down: 1. Push connectors are terrible and impossible to use. My tip is to buy a bunch of orange and maybe yellow wire nuts depending on the wires you're connecting. The push connectors they provide require a thick solid wire which this doesn't have. They added top to their stranded wires to help with insertion but I had different connecting wire so I had to use wire nuts that I bought separately. 2. Short wires. I wish these came with longer wires as my ceiling wires were short and it made it really tough to connect with box open at ceiling. 3. Knockouts are sharp and I thought code for metal boxes is to have a metal connector to prevent wires from being cut or damaged. I have concerns about that. It might be better to have plastic knockouts that will be smooth and prevent wire damage. 4. The template is thing piece of paper which made it difficult to trace. I recommend card stock or even cardboard. My tracing was wonky and my cutting due to this. I also need to reuse the template so after fur lights it's getting beat up and won't last for all the installs. 5. Spring clips are super tight which makes it easy to slip in the light fixture but when I pulled one out it snapped on my finger and the orange plastic cover broke off. The clips are too tight IMO and the plastic is not durable so this will be challenging when trying to remove these for changing color for instance. 6. Fixture isn't perfect circle. The design and template are a circle but the spring clips are flat and protrude outside the ring. There are also screws and the light wire on edge of circle that butts up against drywall cutout. This was a pain for me. I didn't want to cut back too much drywall and leave a gap. Wish the clips, wire and screws were placed just inside the circle so the circle was perfect circle for cutout. 7. Small flange leaves little room for error. If you slip when cutting drywall or the paper of drywall tears, the flange may not cover. This is different from old style can lights that had really large 1-2 inch cover and wiggle room. 8. Super thin gasket if you can call it that. I notice noise and air from attic coming through these lights. Where I replaced can lights I noticed the cans provided buffer and some shielding from attic but these new ones are so thin and nothing protecting the opening from above. Not sure if it's safe to cover these with insulation but I think I'll have to do that to prevent heat/cold exchange. Overall, I still recommend these despite my concerns and complaints. I put two over fireplace replacing old gimble fixtures and the light is nice and bright. These are huge improvement, just wish they made some modifications to make it easier to install with bigger flanges and gasket. ... show more

These are so easy to install. I do prefer the plastic boxes, because then I don't feel like I need to use grommets or cable clamps, but I have a ton of both, so not really a big deal for me. The included push-connect splices make installation a breeze. Because the lights are so thin, you can mount them anywhere, joist or no. I actually used these to replace a bunch of can lights, and I needed to add goof rings to cover the holes. But they still look great. They are well-diffused and should be simple to replace if one starts flickering or buzzing. I've had no issues with dimming using Leviton and Lutron dimmers. ... show more

The ‘VOLISUN 24 Pack 4-inch Recessed Lighting, 5CCT Ultra-Thin LED Recessed Light’ lamps themselves are all the same brightness out of the box. Yes- I powered them all up at once. The colors all match at each setting, and they all dim at the same rate. I’m impressed, these are inexpensive lamps and they seem to match very well. There are no weird colors, or flickering. These are very nice lights. They were super easy to install. I installed these in brand new cut holes rather than in existing holes as replacement of old can style lights. They were simple to wire and set the correct lighting temperature. I recommend getting a 4-1/4" hole saw bit to install these as a 4" hole saw or jigsaw might not give a good fit. These lights are the perfect brightness for a kitchen, bathroom or family room and are dimmable which is great if you want some ambient lighting. Be sure to call an electrician if you aren't comfortable working around electricity. Overall these are a great value if you are looking to add new lighting or replace some old can lights. They are very thin and joist friendly so they can be installed with a ceiling joist over the top of them. Lovely product and a great value. ... show more

    • Practically Unbeatable Price for So Many Good Lights

One thing that adds a lot to a new home or an existing one that you're remodeling, is decent recessed lighting. To be honest, we never heard of this brand before. We were practically brand-loyal to maybe two specific types of recessed lighting for the last few years. But these will get the job done just as well, yet at a lower price. Installing them is pretty easy. Cut the holes, get them in, make sure everything was connected right. It's not a very time-consuming process. But what makes these extra nice is that you can change the whole ambiance of a room based on the type of lighting you choose to go with. Some of the recessed lights sold at this price, they only come in one type of white light. If you're not a fan of that temperature of light, you're just out of luck. Yet these can be adjusted. So in your kitchen, you can get that nice bright white light to make sure you have maximum illumination. But in your bedroom, you can go with a softer, warmer light that has more of a golden look to it. But no matter what, you do have the ability to change up the light temperature. They were easy to put in, not hard at all to use, and really do add a lot to the appearance of your home (plus offer great additional lighting). ... show more
