This Volam 9” CarPlay screen has honestly been one of the best upgrades I’ve made to my car. It feels really well built and solid, and the screen size is perfect. Setup was super easy — wireless CarPlay connected quickly and worked right away. The built-in Netflix and YouTube are a total game changer, especially for long family road trips. As long as you connect to your phone’s hotspot, passengers can watch shows or videos, which has been amazing for keeping kids entertained during long drives or when we’re stopped. No more “are we there yet?” every five minutes. The AHD backup camera is another standout feature. I really like that you can turn it on with a single tap instead of only when reversing makes parking and tight spots way easier, the picture is very clear, and being able to flip the view on the screen is super convenient without needing to remount the camera. I also appreciate the multiple audio output options. Bluetooth, FM, AUX, or even the built-in speaker — it’s nice having so many choices, especially for older cars. Sound quality has been solid no matter which option I use. Mounting was simple, with good mounting options that feel secure once installed. The ability to customize the boot logo and wallpapers is a fun touch and makes the screen feel more personal. OTA updates are a nice bonus too, since everything stays current without any effort. The media could not be loaded. My car is older and it didn't come with the built-in navigation or the nice built-in screens like most do nowadays, it's just a very basic screen with minimal functions. So when I saw this I thought it might be a nice little upgrade especially for the cost. The item arrived the same day I ordered it and installation was even faster! You simply plug the screen into your car, connect it with your phone's Bluetooth and you are up and rolling! I honestly couldn't believe how easy it was and how fast it connected. Once connected I was able to easily access my phone's apps through the screen, as well as the additional apps that came with the device. Phone call clarity through the screen, general sound through the screen, navigational voice, everything is crystal clear! I was actually surprised how loud you could make it and how crisp it was. You're able to simply connect it through your lighter or a USB if you have the adapter. As soon as you start the car the screen comes on and you are ready to go! I'm a bit old school so I love the fact that I can still play my CDs while having the navigation so large on the device and talking me through the steps. I currently would use my phone and with it connecting to my car you couldn't do both at the same time, so having this option is just incredible. I take quite a few weekend trips so having the navigation on a much larger screen is going to make it that much easier while driving. I honestly didn't think I would love it as much as I do. It's the perfect treat for yourself or even a gift for a family member or friend. I love the fact that it also has the additional backup camera should you decide to install that and it also comes with additional mounts so that you can find the right fit and installation for your car. It's also very easy to attach and detach from its base, I found myself putting it on and off a few times before I got the position just right and it was very easy to do. It's such a small investment for what it gives you in return, and again I can't speak highly enough of the device. It truly is so easy to use and gave me such an upgrade when driving my car. If you're on the fence about it trust me you will not be disappointed! Truly love the item, one of my new favorites for sure.

Style: 9'' Carplay Screen with Net-flix YouTube
The media could not be loaded. For a long time, I've dreamed of something like this. So, it's cool that these are finally coming to market. I've tested out 6 or so different portable car infotainment systems and in my opinion, this is the best one out of all the ones I've tested. It's not perfect, but it's the closest to perfection I've found so far. Here's the good and some things that I would love to see improvement on: DESIGN. It's sleek looking and beautiful and will blend in with the interior of most cars. I like that the device is thin, rectangular, and doesn't have the little "chin" at the bottom of it which some units have. The plugs at the back are far enough back that the power, aux, and reverse camera cords won't stick out and be visible from the front if you toe the cables backwards and hide them in the trim (which is a huge win in my book and something a lot of the other units I tested lacked). I like that it has a microsd card slot that I can use to easily load pictures, or a new boot logo, etc. BACKUP CAMERA. The reverse camera is a true 1080P which was not the case with a lot of the other ones I tested. The resolution is good and I love the idea of being able to have a reverse camera on my car now (my doesn't have one since it was built before that was standard). I like that the backup camera comes with a right angled cord so that it stays invisible behind the device. SOFTWARE. The device runs a modified version of full android. That's mostly great! I love that I can have native apps like YouTube, Netflix, Prime Video, and other things like that. You will need to connect this to wifi in order to operate most of those apps which you can do via a hotspot on your phone or a portable hotspot, if you have one. The Google Play store is on the device. However, they have modified the software in ways that prevent you from installing apps from the Google Play store. You also aren't able to side-load an APK file if you want to try to circumvent the software that way. If you do happen to login to the Google Play store, you can update the apps that were already pre-installed but that's it. You aren't able to download or install other apps to the device. When I did that, I did notice that the pre-installed apps were older versions but they were all updated. I wish the manufacturer allowed access to the full Google Play store. That would be a lot better. I would feel more safe knowing that the apps installed on the device are coming straight from the Google Play store and then I would be able to install other apps that I would like on the device (since the ones that are pre-installed are good but there are a few additional ones that I would love to have). CARPLAY & ANDROID AUTO. This works great and will probably be what I use most on the device. I have both an android phone and an older iPhone. Both work great and as they should with their respective software systems. AUDIO OUTPUT. I don't have bluetooth in my car. So, I have this connected to my existing audio system with an Aux cable. It works great and I've never had any connectivity issues. The included aux cable is really short. It does work but I bought a longer one so I can hide the cable later. I'm sure that would work great via bluetooth as well. CABLE MANAGEMENT. I haven't done this yet but I'm planning on hiding the cables in order to make a more professional looking install. There are a lot of videos online about how to do this. Most of the videos are for dash cams but the process should be very similar. IMPROVEMENTS TO BE MADE. There are only a few minor things that I would like to see improved on this. The main thing is that I would love to have access to the full Google Play store. The second thing, is that this needs a better way to be reset in case there is an issue with the software. Android has a built in recovery mode if something happens and the operating system is unable to load. I had that happen on the first unit I bought. The android recovery mode is designed for phones that have a volume up and down buttons (and you have to have those volume up and down buttons in order to navigate the recovery mode). However, this device doesn't have volume buttons. So, I didn't have a way to reset the system when it wasn't able to load. I reached out to the manufacturer and they provided a replacement device very quickly (great service, thank you!!). But the manufacturer needs to do something to make sure I can resolve this on my own if it ever happens again. Adding physical volume control buttons on the device would solve this problem. OVERALL. I love this device! I would highly recommend this unit to anyone, especially if you have a long daily commute or spend a lot of time in your car! This will probably improve your life a lot. And the Volam RC30 is the best one of the bunch that I have tried. It's also the most expensive of the bunch I have tried as well, but it's the only one with an android operating system and I think that the software adds a lot to the device. This is the future of how I think car infotainment systems should work (a native android system that you can install local apps on that also has the ability to link up to Apply Carplay and Android Auto wirelessly). Plus it comes with a backup camera system. If you have an older car and want an easy way to modernize it, this is the way to go. The car infotainment system in the USA has not been that great for a long time, in my opinion. I think the best thing for the consumer would be if every car manufacturer would make these kind of devices a standard feature. I'm envisioning a designed spot on the dashboard of every new car with a universal mounting system and usb-c cable for power and data transfer. Then when the infotainment device in your car becomes obsolete, you can just remove your current device and buy a replacement as needed. It's something that you could swap out in less than 5 minutes on your own and upgrade your infotainment system to a modern version without a huge effort/cost of replacing the in-head unit infotainment systems.
