I bought the 43-inch model for limited usage on days when it’s too sunny to use my projectors. I owned a 65-inch Vizio OLED model before switching to projectors. This TV doesn’t match the specs of this top-end OLED model, but its color output is pretty spectacular for a $300-on-sale set. Vizio includes lots of functionality with this model, as it works with Amazon, Apple and Google. I can’t recall seeing any TV or projector before offering this complete cross-platform functionality. You can use AirPlay and Chromecast as well as each companies’ digital assistants. I saw one comment saying AirPlay doesn’t work, but it fired right up for me on the first try. A key thing to look for with any TV or projector is color output. I researched this Dolby Vision-capable model on Rtings and saw it performed well, delivering a wide color gamut. This makes such a key difference when watching anything. I gave it the Moana test, and the ocean was a bright and inviting blue, and the land was a vibrant green. On the negative side, I think the picture isn’t the greatest for motion. Out of the box, the picture looked very good. I changed it to vivid and upped the color and tint to 60 each. I noticed some reds looked dark pink when the tint was at 50. Once at 60, things such as YouTube’s red play button looked spot-on. I think it’s cool that Vizio preloads apps, as this can save a lot of time during your setup, but one downside is that some apps folks might rely on such as TBS and TNT aren’t available. This might be because these companies don’t have the will or resources to develop and maintain apps for so many TV platforms, whose number is sizeable (Fire TV, Apple TV, Google and Android TV, Samsung’s Tizen, LG, etc.). One thing Vizio could improve is the use of higher-resolution app and video thumbnail images. If you’re close to the TV, you can see that they’re a bit grainy, but, from a few feet away, you can’t tell as well. This likely is a deliberate choice to help get the most legs out of the TV’s hardware. If so, it’s a smart choice. If you want razor-sharp images, hook up an Apple TV 4K, whose performance is exceptional and crushes even the NVIDIA Shield Pro. Enjoy! 📺 ... show more

    • My First VIZIO

The 43" MQ6 Series TV is an amazing replacement for the 39" Samsung I've enjoyed for many years. This one is a QLED while the previous TV was just an HDTV. The nearly bezelless screen is a step up over my old TV, which is to be expected. What is amazing is the price. I got this one for about half of what my old TV cost. It is about 4" bigger and the definition is a definite step up. Unboxing and setup took about an hour. This includes all the restarts and App updates. All-in-all it was fairly painless, but it did take some effort. Color was good out of the box. I just made minor tweaks to the setup after everything was up and running. I simply swapped my old TV out with the new one, replacing all the connections where they were before, and it all worked flawlessly. I've only used it for a few days, but I'm so glad that there were no dead pixels or other screen issues out of the box. For the price, I'd recommend the VIZIO 43-inch MQ6 Series 4K QLED HDR Smart TV.     • Not as good as expected but not too bad

We've had a Vizio TV in the past, but our latest was a Samsung. The first Vizio had a much better picture than the Samsung although they were the same resolution so we had high hopes for this Vizio Smart TV. Unfortunately, it didn't quite meet our expectations. The sound is just crap and we can't play the sound through our older Bose sound system, or I've not found a way, anyway. So, it looks like we'll have to buy a new sound bar or something. The sound, especially when music is being played, is like it's being played through a kazoo---the tissue paper over a comb. It's rattley and muffled sounding. The picture isn't as good as our old Vizio was but that may be because the screen size is a little larger than the old Samsung and Vizio we had. The recorded DVR pictures, even when excellent through the TV tuner during the original broadcast, aren't as clear or bright as the old TVs were from the DVR. It takes a while to figure out the 'smart' part of the TV because it's completely different from the Samsung and I miss the daily listing guide for the broadcast TV programs. The size is perfect for our viewing arrangement and as I'm learning various aspects of how to use it, it is increasing in my 'favorable' rating. ... show more

I'm not an expert on TV's but I am a bit of an obsessive shopper. Love the picture. 1080p looks great on this 4K tv. Sound is good enough. Remote and software are intuitive on this simple remote does everything. I also use as a second computer monitor and I find the image crisp. I don't think you are going to do better at this price range. Also like its not a google tv, I don't have Alexa and don't want anyone listening in on my life. Very very happy. ( though it did come adjusted a bit bright for my taste easy to change though) I would give the picture 5 stars for my taste but I assume there are better more expensive TV like OLED that would rate 5. ... show more

Look uh. It's a fine television. It's very pretty. Sound quality is good. But it's unusable as a smart TV. It regularly shows this screen on startup. Sometimes it lasts ten minutes, sometimes hours. It's something like 80% of the times you start the TV, so restarting it doesn't really help. While it says it's a network issue, asking you to like, type in your wifi password again and reconnect, that does not keep the issue at bay for more than a day or two, so you're going through the fifteen minute reconnection process every day. I had my last TV which I used with a Chromecast for 10 years. I finally decided, buying this one, that it was time to upgrade! I was going to splurge a little, get a smart TV. I was going to be able to use a controller, maybe there would be some good software to navigate through all of the seventeen nonsense apps I have to use to stream things. Not only is it usually unusable, when you search for something, it starts you out at the beginning. So if you're searching for your favorite TV show, and you're on season 5 episode 10, you click on the TV show from the search, it opens the relevant streaming app, and starts playing episode one. You're better off just opening the streaming app. It's not like you can return a TV to Amazon. What're you going to do, go buy a TV box? Even if you kept the old one around, you're crossing your fingers that you pack it well enough and nothing happens in transit. And then you have to get the thing to the post office. So I'm stuck for, what, five more years? Before I can replace this POS with something that actually works. It won't be a Visio 'Smart' TV, I can tell you that much. ... show more

I ordered this TV for my in-home office to replace an old school Vizio 720P flat panel TV from back in the day. Picture is outstanding! Amazon recommended there's a newer model of this TV. The one I ordered is a 2023 year model, while the one Amazon recommended was Vizio's 2024 year model version. I compared the specs and decided to go with the 2023 model as it had a few more specs I desired. An ethernet port is a must for me, even though this TV has great Wi-Fi capability. bought this as a living room TV, and it serves that purpose well. love that it has wifi 6e, but ofc wifi 7 wouldve been better. its honestly good enough. able to stream 4k on 1gb internet without any issues. only regret is not going with a larger TV due to the distance being on complete opposite sides of the room. bed sits too far back. if yours is the same, then you need to go with something at least 5in larger ... show more

    • Full screen ads when it turns on? Really?

Yet another victim has fallen to the corporate world's obsession with shoving full-screen advertisements in the faces of the people. As soon as you turn it on, ADVERTISEMENT! And you can't close it until it finishes loading, and you can't do anything at all until you close it! It doesn't do it all the time, but doing it at all is just irritating and unacceptable to me. Everything on TV and on the internet these days is crammed full of advertisements. I don't need my TV joining in on it too as soon as I turn it on! This alone makes me want to knock two starts off. So I did. Other than that major irritation, I only have one complaint about this TV after using it a few months. If you plug a sound device into the 3.5mm jack in the back, most times when you first turn the TV on it'll default the output volume for that jack to 100% and blast your ears out. But as soon as you adjust the volume in any way (up, down, or mute) it'll suddenly snap down to the correct last-used volume. So beware if you have a set of HD computer speakers or a stereo hooked up to it. I have to keep mine turned down to 30% so I don't blow them out every time I forget about this glitch. ... show more
