  • DWC.
Size: 2 Buckets + Top Drip Kit
Nice setup, and very easy to use. Grew nice tomatoes and bell peppers over the winter. P.S. just a side note. When dumping out the water cover the sight tube opening so you don't lose the ball float . I pushed a needle through the top of the tube so I didn't lose the other. The ball is really not needed just makes it a little easier to see water level. Anyways , For beginners wanting to try dwc this is a great starter . Just make sure to read up on ph , feeding ect with hydro before trying its a lot different than soil. ... show more

  • User friendly in my opinion
Size: 4 Buckets + Top Drip Kit
This is my first hydroponics kit. It works great. I had difficulty getting the tubes connected on some areas. I know they want a tight fit but wondered if this could be improved. So far so good I have seedlings growing in them.

  • Great starter Hydro kit...
Size: 4 Buckets + Top Drip Kit
Easy to assemble and operate. Don't even need the instructions if you are familiar with how Hydro works. The booklet it comes with is very informative and has everything you will need to produce a successful crop other than seeds and water. Stay on top of your PH and PPM daily for best results! Be careful with the top drip function as it can Overwater if you run it on high all the time. I installed all the flow valves (they give you 4) onto those top drip lines so I can control the amount of water being released from the top. You will want to do the same thing with those valves. DO NOT place them on the line going to the airstone! No need to control that airflow as you want it on maximum all the time to give your plants plenty of fresh O2. Overall, great starter kit and would buy again and recommend. The ONLY complaint I have is that the (2) airlines should have gone through the top basket/ lid, instead of the side of the bucket. When you lift the top off to change water, it would have been easier to have everything also come out with it (the airstone line and top drip line) so the roots are unmolested. With the lines in the side of the bucket as they come, the roots will tangle into those lines and give you some headaches if that happens imo. ... show more

  • Good Product with a few tips
Size: 4 Buckets + Top Drip Kit
Couple things to make sure you have success. 1/ The side reservoirs that have the ball to measure water depth will leak everywhere if you don’t snap them all the way in. Push till it clicks in and no leaks. Test assembly with water before you add your solution. 2/ I put a small piece of white electrical tape under the blue tube at where I wanted the water level so I can easily know if the water needed topping. You want about 4 gallons in the bucket with the rest of the space air gap for the bucket. 3/ the halo that sprays water shouldn’t be left on. Leaving on 24/7 seemed to overwater. I just turned off via the blue valves. I sprayed the clay with a mister instead. 4/ The tubing goes in holes in the bottom bucket not from the top lid so no easy way to empty and refill solution. I ended up buying a cheap battery operated fuel pump that I use to first drain and then refill the buckets. Having 4 separate buckets with no central reservoir keeps each plant isolated but creates extra work monitoring each site. For the price, this works well. For $250 more you could get a system with reservoir and circulating solution. Having central reservoir enables one place to monitor PHP, run a chiller if needed, and add nutrients. ... show more

  • Works great. Air Pump is silent when you have everything plugged in
Size: 4 Buckets + Top Drip Kit
Kept reading reviews of people saying the air pump was gonna be super loud and will need to be replaced. When I plugged it in without anything else connected, it was super loud. However, once all the tubing and connections were made, it's actually as silent as all my other aquarium air pumps. So instead of having to replace the air pump, it's sitting happily in my tent pumping doing its job. I did not like that some of the holes for tubing were on the bucket instead of the lid, so i simply drilled 2 holes on the lid for the air pump and water recycle tubes. I then used regular tubing to fill the two unused holes on the bucket so that there wouldnt be any leaks. Very happy with this system. Have everything I need. I did order some extra buckets to help with water changes every so often, as the lids work on any 5 gallon bucket. ... show more

  • People - save your money
Size: 4 Buckets + Top Drip Kit
I'm so sorry I bought this ridiculous set-up! The buckets were easy to assemble; the pump - completely impossible. Also, it's so much work that I had to take a break - at this point the buckets began to leak. Fortunately, I had bought two undersink mats to put under them which saved my carpet - this time. When attempting patiently to set up the pump - a completely impossible task - one of the buckets began to backflow through the tubing and completely soaked the carpet while I was on the phone for maybe 5 minutes. The bucket was almost empty. I spent five hours attempting to set up the pump - the attachments do not and will not fit into the tubing - on the off chance I was able to force one in there, it only went maybe halfway - a guaranteed leak. I am now using the buckets as a Kratky system, using a fish tank pump. I've put the tubing up the side and cut a hole in the basket to thread them through it so the water will circulate instead of leak. I'm angry and disgusted with this farce, as I really hate wasting money, but I've made a decent deep water system out of it using my own pumps. ... show more
