  • Great kit
Size: 4 Buckets + Top Drip Kit
This is a great kit for the money. Installation was the only downside, getting the tubing through the gromets is super painful but other then that it's an easy process. Note that unlike the picture the system does not stream a continuous stream of water out of the ring, it comes in spurts and sputters. It's actually quite loud, and not in a "zen" garden type way but annoying and inconsistent. I get that a fountain pump per bucket would be costly and maintenance heavy but the air pump is loud and the sputtering is loud, so if you plan on putting it somewhere by a living space keep that in mind. Plants love it, put 4 cucumbers in there and got 100's of cucumbers over the course of a few months, and they are still going 4 months later. ... show more

  • DWC.
Size: 2 Buckets + Top Drip Kit
Nice setup, and very easy to use. Grew nice tomatoes and bell peppers over the winter. P.S. just a side note. When dumping out the water cover the sight tube opening so you don't lose the ball float . I pushed a needle through the top of the tube so I didn't lose the other. The ball is really not needed just makes it a little easier to see water level. Anyways , For beginners wanting to try dwc this is a great starter . Just make sure to read up on ph , feeding ect with hydro before trying its a lot different than soil. ... show more

  • Excellent system
Size: 8 Buckets + Top Drip Kit
The media could not be loaded. If you follow the assembly instructions it works very well you can take tomato plants out of the ground rinse the roots and place them in the basket and fill with lava rocks they provide and it works perfect. That said the pump is very loud and weak buy a better pump like i did and you have a very transportable system. Well done vivosun also put a little vegetable oil on the rubber inserts in the buckets ... show more

  • Good Product with a few tips
Size: 4 Buckets + Top Drip Kit
Couple things to make sure you have success. 1/ The side reservoirs that have the ball to measure water depth will leak everywhere if you don’t snap them all the way in. Push till it clicks in and no leaks. Test assembly with water before you add your solution. 2/ I put a small piece of white electrical tape under the blue tube at where I wanted the water level so I can easily know if the water needed topping. You want about 4 gallons in the bucket with the rest of the space air gap for the bucket. 3/ the halo that sprays water shouldn’t be left on. Leaving on 24/7 seemed to overwater. I just turned off via the blue valves. I sprayed the clay with a mister instead. 4/ The tubing goes in holes in the bottom bucket not from the top lid so no easy way to empty and refill solution. I ended up buying a cheap battery operated fuel pump that I use to first drain and then refill the buckets. Having 4 separate buckets with no central reservoir keeps each plant isolated but creates extra work monitoring each site. For the price, this works well. For $250 more you could get a system with reservoir and circulating solution. Having central reservoir enables one place to monitor PHP, run a chiller if needed, and add nutrients. ... show more

  • People - save your money
Size: 4 Buckets + Top Drip Kit
I'm so sorry I bought this ridiculous set-up! The buckets were easy to assemble; the pump - completely impossible. Also, it's so much work that I had to take a break - at this point the buckets began to leak. Fortunately, I had bought two undersink mats to put under them which saved my carpet - this time. When attempting patiently to set up the pump - a completely impossible task - one of the buckets began to backflow through the tubing and completely soaked the carpet while I was on the phone for maybe 5 minutes. The bucket was almost empty. I spent five hours attempting to set up the pump - the attachments do not and will not fit into the tubing - on the off chance I was able to force one in there, it only went maybe halfway - a guaranteed leak. I am now using the buckets as a Kratky system, using a fish tank pump. I've put the tubing up the side and cut a hole in the basket to thread them through it so the water will circulate instead of leak. I'm angry and disgusted with this farce, as I really hate wasting money, but I've made a decent deep water system out of it using my own pumps. ... show more
