  • Powerful AND quiet...wow!
Size: 6-Inch PRO, Speed Controller
I have to admit, when I was shopping for a power fan to vent my xTool P2 laser engraver, I was a little worried about power (would this fan give me enough?) and loudness levels (would it be too loud?) and I have to say, it's perfect on all accounts. My system is probably just as complex as you'd guess: xTool P2 Laser, connected to a xTool filtration system, and then vented outside. That's three ducts (printer to filter, filter to fan, fan to outside) at 4", and the P2 itself is natively 3", but I bought an adapter on-line to make it 4". So overall, the fan works great, like wow! You can still hear it - it's not super quiet, but it's also not annoying. It's more of a louder "whoosh" than an annoying whine, if that makes any sense? And that's me running this fan at full-power, which is basically where I'm going to keep it at. It's possible that your needs won't be 100% all the time, and it is absolutely quieter at the slower speeds. The duct connections are perfect, and the 6" to 4" adapters I purchased here on Amazon were absolutely flawless and leak-free. As someone who buys a lot of high-end computer components, one of the things I really appreciated about all of the AC Infinity products (three ducts and this fan) is that it's well packaged, with a lot of accessories. It's almost like opening an iPhone, if iPhones came in dark packaging. It's also clear what this fan was designed for, as it came with a "how to grow hemp" manual, which made me laugh. There's a nice YouTube video on-line that explains how to set this all up specifically with the P2 (with details on the 4" to 6" leak-free custom adapters), and he tells you to get this model, and not the one that has all the bells and whistles (Bluetooth, WiFi, garbage disposal, toothbrush). I'm glad I got this exact model (S6 PRO). The remote is cool, and comes with a nice LONG (9') cable so you can put this wherever you want. You press the button once to turn it on, and it remembers the last settings (1-10) if you hold the power button for four seconds to turn it off. It's pretty cool! I love the design, and the fact that you can remove the center blower, to install the bracket on the wall, and then put the blower back in. Solid build quality. Overall, I'm very happy with this blower fan, and would absolutely recommend it for hydroponics and exhaust systems. ... show more

  • Typical high quality from AC Infinity
Size: 6-Inch PRO, Speed Controller
This fan is quiet, moves a lot of air and is very energy efficient. Most importantly for my application, it has a very decent static pressure rating. Worth the cost in every respect.

  • I was honestly surprised at the build quality of this thing...
Size: 6-Inch PRO, Speed Controller
I can't even remember the last time I was compelled to instantly write a product review, but this thing deserves it. I think it's the price that really did it. For only a little over $100 this is a fantastic, well built, well-engineered... fan! The shell is a solid feeling plastic that feels nice and durable. The fan blades also inspire confidence as they feel beefy and robust to the touch. The USB-C controller is excellent. The fan is as quiet as one could expect, and at the higher end moves a ridiculous amount of air without being excessively noisy. What really did it for me, though, was the intelligent control of the fan. When you select a speed, the fan doesn't instantly try to run at that speed. It gently ramps up/down in a way that not only prevents power spikes, but also simply exudes quality. I also like that when you turn the fan off, it gently ramps down. Overall, an excellent purchase at this price. I'm using it as an exhaust fan to suck away fumes from my laser engraver, but I can see myself purchasing more down the road for other purposes. Using one of these to exhaust hot air from our garage is definitely on the list of future projects. ... show more

  • Good for HVAC Ducts
Size: 6-Inch PRO, Speed Controller
The short version (the good): + Plenty of power reserve + Body shape lends itself to different duct sizes (read below for more info) + Very quiet at lower levels The short version (the bad): - Noise levels at high output are loud. The longer version: We installed the s6 to boost the output to a large bedroom over the garage. At any given day, there's a seven degree delta between that bedroom and our master bedroom. Installing the duct fan (along with adding more insulation to the room) as now taken that delta down to two degrees. I especially appreciate the shape of the s6. The shape allowed us to install it into our seven-inch duct with no hassle. I ended up buying a couple of 8-inch clamps (also AC infinity branded) to clamp the duct down onto the fan and seal with foil tape. I didn't need any reducers to make it fit. If I had gone with something like the Raxial I surely would have. Having 10 different speeds to choose from gives me some finesse in figuring out the optimal speed setting. And the fan is plenty powerful, with more than my system can handle at full tilt. Anyways - I'm very happy I went this route. This fan is helping my little old (25 years at this point) AC system continue to putter on and barely keep up with the summer heat! :) Hindsight being 20/20 I would have gone with the a6 instead of the s6. The s6 has more power than I need (or could use) and it's cheaper, and the shape is the same. That being said, I'm keeping the s6 and maybe I'll get an a6 or a8 for the other register, should I choose to boost it. ... show more
