Gardyn is truly amazing. I did my research on different systems, read the reviews and decided to give Gardyn 4.0 a shot. I have not been disappointed. The product arrived in perfect condition. The packaging was solid, the various parts were held firmly in place and everything was where it should be. It's what you'd expect from quality product. The unpacking was easy and the instructions on setup were great. I highly recommend using the UR code to link to the setup videos. They are each about a minute long and they make the whole thing super simple. Once everything was in place I plugged it in and connected to my wifi. They recommend waiting about 5 minutes the first time you turn it on. After that it took about 2 minutes to go through the process to connect to wifi and I was done. A few tips to make the initial setup easy. Each of the plant pods (they call yCubes) has a position the Gardyn for optimal growing. You can find charts in the app or on their site that will help you place the plants in the perfect spot. They also have a AI system called Kelby. This system does basically everything for you. It turns the lights on/off, waters the plants when they need it and will tell you when to fertilize. I do not have a green thumb so this is perfect for me. It really is a set it and forget it system. I did make a small change on when the lights turned on and off but other than that they are managing the growing. The seeds started to grow in less than a week. I'm a few weeks in and the plants are getting bigger and I will post a picture when everything is ready to harvest. It really is a fun system and I can't wait to have my first salad and tomatoes. Let me tell you how much I love this product! Was a Christmas gift for my husband who was having a hard time growing stuff in dirt. Wanted to try something different and give him a victory in growing vegetables. The Gardyn concept was fail proof as long as you follow the instructions and add in the nutrients when instructed. It was tall and compact so we were able to make it fit in a tight space. This project was so gratifying for him because it gave him results he could feed the family with. Watching him light up each time he saw something new was more than worth the price. He was excited the whole time. We had veggies in a couple months and got tired of eating the weird types of lettuce that the pack came with, so we gave the rest to the bunnies. Nothing went to waste. To reset and start over, The cleaning process was a little lengthy and tedious because we had to take everything apart and soak in vinegar and water. Then reassemble. But this time we are putting in things we want to grow. The first round was important though because it took us through all the steps of growing and learning about hydroponics. Keep in mind that this system works fast because the grow lights are on about 16 hours a day, so find a home where the lights won’t bother you. Now we understand the process and are ready to grow again. It’s exciting for even the kids to see it grow every day a little, but so rewarding when we can serve it for a meal! Would highly recommend this product.

The Gardyn 4.0 is a beauty. I love the design and it’s super simple. Just download the Gardyn App and it takes care of itself. It’ll tell you when to add water to the holding tank and it will even adjust the lighting schedule for you depending upon what your plants need. The smart technology knows what it needs because it can see what your plants look like from the two cameras. I was tickled when I saw the map (in the Gardyn App) of where to place each plant so that it gets the right amount of light. It doesn’t take long before small shoots emerge from the plant pods. I got mine within 8 days! I am so excited about this garden. Best of all, I will eat fresh, healthy vegetables all year round. I’m in Ohio and our growing season can be a bit tricky. I highly recommend this product.

The quality of this product does not justify its price whatsoever. Assembly is very simple and yet one of the two cameras did not work when fully assembled. Additionally, on top of the ridiculous product cost, the membership runs between $28-$39/mo depending on your plan (The plan features do not differ. The price difference is to charge more for shorter durations). This point is more subjective, however, I found that the offered vegetables/herbs were quite boring. Of course, you could always use their app to buy additional veggies and herbs at a ridiculous fee. TLDR: If you have unlimited funds, this product is mediocre at best. Otherwise, go with a less greedy company that’s actually rooted in the passion of horticulture.

Previously owned an earlier model. Putting the Gardyn Home 4 was a relatively simple task. I’m disabled but was able to easily manage it. It looks nice. You have a set light and watering cycle or you can customize it to fit your needs. Be sure to set the right time zone so your lights will turn on and off at the appropriate times. I would have given it a 5 star rating except for the difficulty pairing it with my WiFi. I had issues with a stable WiFi connection. The main issue is that it will only connect to a 2.4ghz WiFi. My router was supposed to be able to tell what frequency the device needed and connect at the 2.4ghz if required. The connection wouldn’t hold. I had to go in and split the signal of the router where I had a separate 5ghz and a 2.5ghz connection point. I still couldn’t get the device to pair until I switched my phone to the 2.5ghz connection as well. I also had to leave the phone on the Gardyn to get it to pair. Probable almost a two hour effort with multiple attempts and troubleshooting. Gardyn, you might want to add a 5ghz version to make it easier for your customers to use. 🤣 Update. I’ve had the Gardyn for 2 months. I’ve had a multiple salads. My tomatoes are large enough that I should start seeing some ripe ones soon. I’ve used some off brand plant cubes, recycled a few cube and bought rockwool so I can grow my own plants. For an easy hack, when you buy some green onions, plant them in the Gardyn and you can harvest them for a long time. Just leave enough of the plant, so it can keep growing. Many of the plant cubes will also sprout multiple plants that need to be thinned out. If you are gentle, you can remove the plant with only a little harm to the roots and place them in another prepared cube. It gives you multiple plants for each one you order from Gardyn. Overall, it’s not a perfect system. You have to tinker with the light settings to fit your schedule. The Gardyn does take some effort to get everything going right. Cleaning and refreshing the tank is a chore. Since I live in a condo and don’t have a proper space for a traditional garden, this allows me to enjoy growing some food and flowers. I can do it in the comfort of my air conditioned living room. I’m still happy with my purchase.

So excited to plant some seedlings and have an in-home garden all year round! The Gardyn hydroponic planter holds so many pods and can support MAJOR growth while not taking up a ton of space due to the vertical grow towers. It holds a large tub of water so you don’t have to refill often. The led lights are nice and bright, and this thing hardly makes a peep. I’ve had several different hydroponics before and this is by far the highest quality and best value. I also appreciate how modern and clean cut the design is so that it blends in nicely with my interior. Top notch

Works really well and it’s a constant flow of veggies to harvest. The system is very easy to setup and and link to the app. The app did keep defaulting to another time zone so it was turning the lights on and off at odd hours of the day but once that was updated and saved, it’s been working great. Some of the plants that come with the starter set aren’t the most common ones but they have all grown very well.

I opened this and with the help of my 12 yr old we were able to set it up in about 30 minutes. I let it do its thing and within a week I have tiny plants growing in my classroom. My particular school does not allow devices to connect to the school wifi unless they are school-owned, so I can't speak to how the app works. I just keep it filled with water and I plan to add some plant food every other week. The plants are a great addition to my classroom. The footprint is small enough that we can enjoy the plants without tripping over the system. The light is bright on the plants so I am confident the plants will do well even in indirect light in my classroom. I am happy with this purchase and would recommend to any teacher for an interesting addition to the classroom. Just check with your IT dept. that you will be able to connect it to WIFI if that is something that is important to you.
