As an avid gardener and plant enthusiast, when winter hits it is time to bring the plant collection inside. If you are anything like me, you end up with more plants than windows not wanting my plants to die or go dormant I usually augment with artificial light. I have used various styles of hangers over the years, from the yo-yo style, to the chain and link, and finally the wonderful rope ratchet. By far my favorite is the latter; it is the most adjustable and highly dependable. There are many brands of rope ratchet style hangers but I always go with VIVOSUN. When I am shopping for a hanger there are several things I am looking for: • Able to hold 50+ pounds • At least 72 inches of adjustment • Metal internal gears • Made of dependable materials • Quality end connections (ex: carabineer) VIVOSUN’s rope ratchet hangers offer all the above, and even a bit more. I’m using to raise up two bicycles in the barn so they’re up off the floor and I have more room underneath. They work great for that but I did have to make two more purchases to use them effectively. 1) A screw in eye hook for the ceiling beam. 2) And an open screw in hook for the post to secure the end I pulled the bikes up with. Took some adjustments but it works for me. In afterthought, I probably could have done this with simple hardware store items but for some reason... I think a barn needs a pulley, if only for nostalgic reasons. Four stars for the extra stuff I had to buy locally to make these work for me. They seem sturdy and I’m hoping they’ll last a long time.

I used these for a large grow light for growing hydroponic basil and other herbs. Worked great and was easy to use to adjust the light as the plants grew. Be mindful to keep your hands on the cord when you release so your light doesn't crash into your plants. I never did that, but am aware it can happen. Nothing else to say, but they work awesome and I'd buy them again if I needed them.

The VIVOSUN 1/8 inch 8ft Adjustable Heavy Duty Grow Light Rope Hanger is as described. I was impressed that it was in my mailbox in two days of ordering. I know it is advertised as a light hanger but it can be used for different purposes. I use the ones I ordered as part of a hanging system for my bicycles. The bulk of the weight is supported from the ceiling with a heavy duty rubber coated hook (bicycle hook). The rope hanger is attached to the ceiling by one end, the other end attached to the bicycle to pull it to a more perpendicular position to the ceiling and garage floor to hang more bicycles in that location of the garage. It is the perfect solution for my bicycle hanging set up.

I love these little wratchet pulleys. I have them in a closet grow setup and hang close to 15lbs off them. Though I do not care for the crimp clamp that is holding the rope on the clips they are performing. I wouldn't load them anywhere near what the rating calls for. You have to take load OFF the line to lower these otherwise your load will fall IF you can even get the tab to unlock and release. That is a nice design. Very easy to raise lights with these. Best addition to the room besides the plants!
