    • Potential Fire Hazard - Fan stopped working, but heater element still on
We bought this heater for our living room and figured that if we were going to get a space heater we might as well get one that's a fake fireplace. At first it was great, and seemed like an excellent purchase for the first month or so... until I came home and flipped it on and then walked out of the room for a second and came back to a burning smell. It turns out that the fan motor wasn't working, but the heating element was still on. I turned off the heater as soon as I realized this. Upon further inspection there appears to be a safety fuse/breaker to prevent the heater from overheating too much. Under careful supervision I turned the heater back on and confirmed that it did in fact cut the power to the heater once it started to get hot. ***UPDATE*** VIVOHOME contacted me as soon as I posted this review with my issue and offered to replace the heater right away. When I asked for a refund instead they were happy to accommodate. I was very impressed by their customer service. However, given the issue I had, I can't recommend this heater. ... show more

Love this little champion! The heat is impressive despite it being compact. The flames are realistic and soothing. We have an open floor plan and I got this heater for my feet but soon learned, when using out ceiling fan in winter blade/direction mode that it will ever so slowly make the room almost too warm unless you set the gauge. I’ve had to get up and turn it down twice! I have two very minuscule gripes but they are nothing really and shouldn’t dissuade from purchasing. The first is that it does have a plastic smell when first run. Totally normal, just passing in on. And the other is several screws stripped out when attaching the feet. The preset holes are very tight so I just ran the screws through first without the legs, unscrewed, then attached, problem solved and put together within 10 minutes. The media could not be loaded. I do love this heater. I bought it as a way to stay warm and save money during the cold winter. Heat just the room we are in as opposed to the entire home. And being that we are in a two-story home, we all know where the house heet will go. So yes, this gizmo is worth it. It creates warm and ambiance. The top remains cool so you can move it around or place decor on top. Update: the noise stopped today but the lights to mimic a dancing fire did too. So now, there is just a steady light inside. But the heater works great still. I hope it keeps working.!! My only complaint is the noise. It is rhythmic. I almost want to create a tune around the pops and clicks. The noise is there whether you are using just the light-up ambuance feature or the heat function. Is there a way to turn off the noise portion of the gizmo? ... show more

    • Cute little heater
I like the extra features like thermostat that shuts off an on to maintain heat, tip over off, and pretty realistic flames. BUT, the insides need to be secured better. Besides the legs being a bit of a bugger to get on, the inside reflective sheet and fake logs had rattled loose inside and were all out of place and had disconnect the wiring to the lights. I'm pretty handy of an old lady and took the back off, despite caution label not to and repositioned the "logs" and reflective sheet and reattached the wires so the lights would work. Now after an hour of fiddling and cussing, I have a cute little stove throwing out some good heat. ... show more

This heater is amazing! I wasn't to sure about it in the beginning because had a few before that were about the same price and they were all crap. But this one for a really good price it heats up my whole apartment (600 square feet) and it automatically turns on and off so it doesn't get overly hot inside. I love the heater and it works great for my small space. Only negative was a soft squeak noise that came from the flame effect. This seems to have affected a few other reviewers. I took off the back cover and used a paintbrush to put a small bit of dish soap on the squeaky spot and it solved the issue. See picture. I also uploaded a troubleshooting video. ... show more

    • Cosmetically Broken and Completely Broke Down after first use

Was excited to get this heater but upon arrival it turned out to be not so big and definitely low quality. The feet were difficult to screw in especially the one in the middle of each leg. Turned on the light which worked and then the heater. It made a rattling sound, ran over to my wife to show here the cool flame show and returned back to the heater not working and the flame frozen. Stopped started numerous times but it’s a pile of plastic junk now. Also the front door hinge came broken so getting ready to throw this in the garbage can on Monday. ... show more

I have no idea how to rate thickness. This little stove has been a nice addition to my living room.. My apartment has funny heat, blower in the living, radiant in the beds, so got it to keep the living room warm without turning on the main blower. It's worked pretty well. When the temp was above 20 F my living room was warm. Below that I would have to turn on the main blower. I expected it to be around 35 F so 20 is dam good. Heat bill compared to my neighbors was about 20 to 30 bucks cheeper except when the temp dropped below 20 but then it was only about 15 bucks higher. For safety these fire place remakes are top drawer. Much much safer then a small space heater. ... show more
