  • Very good value.
Works well, cleans easily. The mechanism is able to easily extract honey. No need for a motor. One small con is the ball bearing that the basket rotates on. It works fine but is very easy to lose if you are cleaning your equipment outside. Once lost Vevo cannot help you replace it. I ordered a bag of 10, 3/8 bearings for about $6 on Amazon. Consider making a base on wheels. It will control the shimmy (see picture) Balls, https://www.amazon.com/dp/B007B2AG7W?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details ... show more

  • Works very well, Good price.
First time beekeeping. I used it to extract honey from 10 frames. I loaded 8 medium with no trouble. Very stable and easy to crank. Worked faster than I expected. Clean up was very easy. You do have to watch out for a small ball bearing in the "tub" and make sure it doesn't get away from you. Not a problem in operation, only if you pull it apart to clean. A little bulky, but light and easy to move. Clear covers are a big plus. I'm glad I didn't get a smaller extractor. Be very careful with sharp edges on the internal rotating frame. Well made, good price, should last a long time. ... show more

  • Great value for price
1) As described and easy to assemble 2) Attached to heavy pallet, but still wobbles - ALOT 3) Easy to use and clean up 4) So far processed over 60 lbs of honey this year and used four times since arrival 5) Wish it would stay steady - BUT this is the nature of these devices and working with honey, so I get a helper of two to stand on the pallet and away we go! Overall Great product ... show more

  • but I am happy with it
I have only used this to extract honey from 6 frames so far, but I am happy with it. There are a few issues that you may have to deal with depending on your situation, but in spite of those design issues, I think it is a good extractor. THE GOOD: - The stainless seems to be good quality and all the parts are well machined. The drum is comparable to the stainless kettles I use in home brewing. I would guess the drum is about 20 gauge stainless which isn't very thick, but its perfectly adequate for the purpose. - Mechanically, this seems very sound. The mechanism to turn the centrifuge seems very solid and I would expect it to last a very long time. The centrifuge is well-balanced and spins very easily. It continues going for several minutes after you let go of the handle. - The packaging was good and all of the parts were clean and in good condition upon opening the box. There isn't much to assemble. - The centrifuge allows for 4 frames of any size to be spun tangentially, and up to 8 medium or shallow frames to be spun radially. THE ISSUES: - The legs are long enough to allow a 5-gallon bucket to fit under the honey gate and bottom of the drum. However, if you use screens on top of your bucket, you may have to elevate it to allow the screens and bucket to fit under the honey gate. - The legs each have a flat piece of stainless welded to the bottom that should sit flush on the floor, essentially a foot. The foot has a hole in it to allow a 3/8" bolt to fasten it to a base or stand. The feet are pretty flimsy and 2 were already bent when I got it. I attached swivel casters to each leg and the feet or not sturdy enough to retain their shape. The casters keep the extractor from walking across the floor when spinning, but you likely need to make something to connect each of the legs together to keep them from trying to separate and the casters from bending the feet upward. - If you spin more than 4 frames radially, the frames are essentially paired up in groups of 2. There is nothing to keep the 2 frames in a pair separated so the honey on the common sides of the frames in a pair touch and prevent the honey from being spun out. You would have to craft something to separate the frames to allow honey to escape. - The stamped legs may have some sharp edges and the hole for the honey gate may have some burrs. Mine had a few but were not bad but I filed them all before assembly anyway All in all, the issues are not really a big deal to me and just took a little more time to resolve before I could really start using the extractor. None of them are insurmountable, just issues to be aware of if you are considering this extractor. For the money I expect the value of this extractor is hard to beat. I expect it will last a long time but if I were buying again, I would definitely buy this one. ... show more

  • works well
This extractor did a good job. Next year we will build a frame and mount it. It was a suggestion by other reviewers but we did not take the time this year. It did what we needed it to do at an affordable price.

  • Bought this as a gift for my son.
My son said it was easy to put together. He used it for his small bee yard. I think He spun about 80 quarts and 15 pints using this. He said it was easy to clean. He keeps it stored on the wall in his garage.

  • It works but it could be improved even more.
It works. But craftsmanship is not all together. There are lots on scratches on the inside of the honey extractor that I've received. The legs are cheap metal and rust build up on it very easy. The extractor wobbles like crazy while trying to extract honey.

  • Spins 4 deep or 8 medium frames
The media could not be loaded. Easy assembly. Easy operation. Easy to clean. Video is before I screwed the legs to a 2’-6” by 3’ plywood board to stand on for stability. Best price I found for a 4 deep frame spinner.
