Before purchasing, I researched ebikes and drilled down to bikes with features that are desirable and pitfalls to avoid. All the reviews outlining the most important features to look for were included in this bike. So I researched this specific bike to find out if there were any shortcomings of the product itself. The manufacturer covered everything including the appropriate battery type, size, and features. The other important element of the bike (the motor and gears) were also well within the scope of a bike that would allow the average rider to go the distance, the speeds and ride under the conditions that would be necessary. There are more expensive bikes on the market, but you have to pay as much as it would be to buy three of these before you find a product that has significant features that eclipse this bike. I came across a review of the previous model of this exact bike and the items which were pointed out in a negative way on the review had all been addressed on the current bike. So the review that was recorded to talk me out of the bike actually helped me make the decision. The bicycle parts of the ebike, like the shamano gears the disk breaks, the forks and the frame are very well build and manufactured by long-time well known bicycle manufacturers. There were of course, a couple of reviews that tried to talk down about this product, bringing up the fact that it is build in China, and to that i have to say if I had to use that is a condition for purchases, i would not have anything including this computer i am typing on. That being said, like everyone, i have purchased Chinese items and had difficulty with the documentation. And to that end, the documentation is very limited but anyone who can twist a wrench can put this thing to gather, it truly is 85% assembled. With any other issues as far as operation, your skills in using a search engine and YouTube will suffice. THE ONE THING YOU MAY NEED HELP FIGURING OUT IS (listen up because i am going to save you fifteen minutes of frustration) you turn the headlamp on by holding in the middle button on the electronic gar selector for five seconds and the light will come on. you are welcome, no go buy this bike.

I have tried an expensive $3,000 internal battery e-bike, which inspired me to buy one, but I was not willing to pay that much for bicycle. My search brought me to this e-bike and made the purchase. Comparing the two, the more expensive one at full assist and pedaling got me to 30mph and with this bike, best guess (don't have a speedometer), 20-25mph. With the price I can live with the slight difference in speed. When putting the bike together watch the video on the store page, it shows everything you have to do to assemble the bike, probably took me 1-1.5 hours, since it was my first time ever putting a bike together. Now to the minor flaw in my title. The kickstand. It is located too close to the left side bike pedal. You will hit your heel on it the first time you use it and you will have to work around it. I personally unscrewed it from the frame and moved it back to only 1 screw connection instead of the standard 2. 1 screw seems sturdy enough to hold the bike up if you tighten it hard enough. Overall I like the bike and don't regret my purchase.

It has worked well for me so far, but I do feel a little sketched out by the brakes sometimes. The mechanical brake calipers leave some to be desired, even when adjusted fully out there is a very small gap that the disc has to fit though, combined with the fact that the wheels aren't entirely spinning true causes the discs to rub a lot if you don't have the brakes adjusted all the way open. This results in mediocre and uneven braking performance. It is manageable, you just have to think ahead if you really want to go flying down the road on this thing. It wouldn't be much of an issue on a regular bike but at higher speeds it is less than ideal. Other than the above, the build quality is great for the price point, and the battery life is acceptable for what it is. Assembly was pretty easy. I like the built-in headlight. Didn't have an issue with the directions personally, you get a full color manual with pictures along with the instructions. Some poor english sometimes but you can figure it out with context clues. Where this bike excels is keeping the pedal assist set to "low" and just letting it help you accelerate from a stop or climb hills without having to shift down as often. On low, the assistance turns off at like 5mph or so allowing you to cruise under your own power and keep your battery going longer. There is somewhat of a delay before the assistance turns on and off when you stop/start pedaling, making it feel a little poorly controlled at low speeds on "high" setting. I recommend leaving it on a lower setting if you need to start and stop frequently where you ride. All considered, this is probably the best e-bike you are going to find in this price range and even with the sub-optimal brakes I still recommend this bike and feel safe using it.

We had so much fun riding the first one that we ordered another one. Live in a small town that has a lot of hills and this bike tackles them with no problem. The build quality of the bike is pretty solid which makes it easy to ride in straight pedal mode.

...on her second message she shared that she's having fun on it and that it might be the best gift my husband and I ever got her!!! She's 35! We got her this gift (or ordered it) while we were in VA Beach in June for our grand angel's graduation! Our daughter needed more fun in her life; she is the Mom of 3 and so we think this did the trick! I cannot speak to battery life but she had help assembling it and I'm under the impression it was easy to do! Hope she has years of fun on it and maybe one day I'll get me one! :)
