I sprained my LCL in my knee in September, and tore my meniscus as well. When I went to a doctor, she recommended I seek out a knee brace and wear it as needed instead of surgery. I found this product on Amazon, and it matched the side support design my doctor told me to look for. I got it and wore it the first day it arrived. The support is perfect, and it took so much pressure off my knee I was able to function with very little pain or soreness. I like the design, and how this type of velcro does not slip or move. When you strap this one on, it stays in place and does not create any discomfort around the knee cap or any other area. It functions with the knee quite well. The only downside I found was that after wearing it all day long, after a week my skin became irritated where the straps are on all day. Even with washing it, it still was an issue. However, I think this as more of just having something on your leg for long hours that you are not used to. The problem seemed to resolve when I got into the habit of using lotion on this area of my leg every night after I took it off before I went to sleep. I like that I was able to wear it under my pants, and it was hardly noticable. Best of all, after about 3-4 weeks I did not need it any more. Today I only wear it when I know I am doing heavy lifting at work, etc. I would recommend this.

I did a number on my ACL last month on the ice, and my doctor ordered me into an immobilizer for a week, followed by a hinged brace for six. I'm two weeks into my hinged brace wear, and SO PLEASED with this brace. I did a little research on amazon.com before buying this, and liked the ratings and reviews. This brace has lived up to the positive feedback! It is light and as comfortable as a brace on your knee can be. It gives me great relief and support and has allowed me to function well. It is not overly bulky and fits underneath most of my pants without problems. It is easy to use and I like that I don't have to slide it up or down my leg--it wraps around and is therefore easy to put on or take off under pants, over pants, etc. I'm already planning on taking out the hinges and using just the brace in the future when I start running again.

this brace is pretty comfortable to wear on bare skin, but the smaller Velcro does touch the back of the knee slightly when used correctly. those with fresh injury may not care for that. this brace also does not require you to slide it over your foot. the wraps Velcro around the knee and untie completely from the sleeve. those with recent injuries will appreciate that. the bars along the sides are a nice feature, but you are not going to prevent your ACL or MCL tears from getting worse while running or shooting hoops if wearing only this. not for $30. but it will provide pressure needed to reduce inflammation which will cause pain. fits nicely under jeans or over them. I grab for this anytime my (shredded ACL and torn MCL) begins to feel unstable and hurt, usually after 3-5 days of no activity, or over doing it on the motorbike or MTB, this brace has stopped the pain from getting worse to where I can't move or walk. it will prevent swelling right away. the circle piece on the knee cap digs in over time, so I have to unwrap when that happens. it will leave a tiny indentation and the first time I left the brace on too long and the knee cap was sore a few days after. but like I said, you won't prevent additional injury to ligaments wearing it. those types of braces are literally hundreds. I have one somewhere in this house somewhere and cannot find it or I would not have needed this. but for the price, the option to get grey, I think you get value for your hard earned cash.

I have a torn meniscus and I am waiting for surgery. I bought a pile of braces looking for a hinged daytime one and a lighter weight one for bedtime to prevent my knee cap from moving. I purchased both the Shock Doctor 872 and the 875 selecting sizes based on their chair. That gave me a L for the872 and a XL for the 875. This 872 in L is too small. It is really too bad because I think I would have liked it better. The 875 has 2 elastic X behind the knee. This just has 1. I felt the 875 was bulky and heavy duty and this seemed just a tad lighter. The quality on these seems excellent. They have a nice knee "doughnut" that I wanted to provide a bit of knee cap support. The fabric is soft. There is a breathable panel behind the knee. The 875 has double hinges. 872 is a normal single hinge. I also purchased: Nvorliy ASIN B096KXZ9Y1. I like that a lot. The adjustable X straps behind the knee allowed me to get a secure fit around my knee cap. Disuppo ASIN : B07PTZBY42 XL It was open behind the knee and did not give me the secure feeling I wanted on my knee cap. My knee felt like it was floating and unprotected. If you are just looking for joint support, and dont need knee compression, then this might be nice unit for you I liked the way it felt, quality, and fabric. It looks like the winnerfor waling will be the ViVe ASIN : B07L5T2HG6. I liked it best because it covered less of my leg, gave good fit. It has the X straps behind the knee making the knee "doughnut" feel secure. For nighttime I am keeping: Moxita ASIN : B09W22CK1F. Soft, top and bottom strap plus 2 X straps that wrap all around. No hinges just some side supports. Big soft doughnut.
