This is the second brace I have purchased for my knee. This one works for my torn miniscus. We just returned from Europe and I managed to navigate without pain with this brace and a Tylenol and Ibuprofen tonic. It is comfortable to wear. I highly recommend.

I sprained my LCL in my knee in September, and tore my meniscus as well. When I went to a doctor, she recommended I seek out a knee brace and wear it as needed instead of surgery. I found this product on Amazon, and it matched the side support design my doctor told me to look for. I got it and wore it the first day it arrived. The support is perfect, and it took so much pressure off my knee I was able to function with very little pain or soreness. I like the design, and how this type of velcro does not slip or move. When you strap this one on, it stays in place and does not create any discomfort around the knee cap or any other area. It functions with the knee quite well. The only downside I found was that after wearing it all day long, after a week my skin became irritated where the straps are on all day. Even with washing it, it still was an issue. However, I think this as more of just having something on your leg for long hours that you are not used to. The problem seemed to resolve when I got into the habit of using lotion on this area of my leg every night after I took it off before I went to sleep. I like that I was able to wear it under my pants, and it was hardly noticable. Best of all, after about 3-4 weeks I did not need it any more. Today I only wear it when I know I am doing heavy lifting at work, etc. I would recommend this.

This exact knee brace was recommended by my orthopedist from a prominent large city hospital. I had knee surgery for a torn meniscus in Sept 2017 and have, unfortunately, been left with arthritis due to age (65). I've been told this twice now by two ortho docs. I saw a doc for a 2nd opinion; he said he would not have done the surgery if I'd have come to him 1st; he'd have tried a multitude of other options as we, at my age, are often left with arthritis due to the surgery. Live and learn. Anyway, I have resumed walking after having been sedentary for far too long and definitely would not be able to do so without this brace. I feel virtually no pain when I am walking now. I like that it is totally adjustable and is very comfortable. There are two large straps and two small straps. It is very easy to place around your knee/leg and nearly unseen over my black pants. I also recently played three rounds of laser tag with two 10 year olds and two 30 somethings and there is no way I could have done this without this brace!! I admit, I do still have some slight knee pain afterwards; then again I do have the arthritis. I never have to adjust the brace while walking nor while playing sports. For reference, my leg at the top of brace over pants is ~17.5" and below ~14.5". I'm 5'1" so I was pleased it fit as well as it does for a one size fits nearly all. One does have to be careful about the straps catching on your pants as it will pull the material and fray it; thus my deduction of one star.

Purchased this after getting a different "Amazon's Choice" brace, for use post-ACL replacement and other knee injury surgery about two weeks ago. Since the injury and post-surgery, I have been using a full upper thigh to ankle, strappy ACL knee brace, with full rigid metal side supports and variable degree hinges at the knee (saw it on Amazon for $330 and the Ortho charged me $900!!!). In a week or two, I will not need that much support (hopefully after PT) and I just couldn't sleep in it, as ordered. My initial purchase of different "Amazon's Choice" knee brace, just did not offer enough support for me - the side bracing was very flexible, and it just didn't fit right (too short) or feel comfortable, and was hot (very thick neoprene). For me (a 5'4", medium sized female), this brace is WONDERFUL! Length is right and very comfortable, hits perfectly above and below the knee, with no digging. Right now, I am wearing it over a wrapped bandage, due to incisions, but think it will also be comfortable on direct skin. The removable bracing is truly rigid metal with hinges, and padded to add comfort (my other knee was getting bruised by rubbing against the hinge of my other brace). While I have only had this a few days, I have worn for some hours around the house, and am very leased with it. I may purchase a second one to wear on "healthy" knee, without the metal bracing, as it is getting worn out and sore, while relying on it so much. My physical therapist also told me that this brace is a very good and acceptable "step down" from the industrial full leg brace I have had to wear for weeks.

After numerous purchases of this knee brace, I found that while they are very supportive, unfortunately their velcro straps tend lose effectiveness within just 3 months. This short lifespan is particularly disappointing since otherwise, the build quality seems quite good. The other problem is that since I’ve purchased so many over the years, the sizing is inconsistent, so you may want to order a couple sizes to get the right fit. When it works, it really does work!
