  • A great entry level device
Style: N731/640-BL
These are not goggles. These have a single tube monocular with an IR illuminator. There is no depth perception or parallax, but the field of view (FOV) is pretty good for what they are. There is no head strap or mount, although I'm sure there's something available if your neck is strong enough to hold 20+ oz (you'd probably have to use a counter-weight). They work great on a small tripod. They are not ruggedized, so if you drop them in the dark you're going to have a bad time. A strip of electrical tape over the battery covers will stop all of the batteries from flying everywhere if you drop the unit. You probably won't be driving with these on. You need to turn off or cover the illuminator (which is in the RH tube) and use ambient outside light or another IR source if you need to look through glass or window screen, because the IR illuminator reflects back on you. This same reflection causes license plates and road signs to be indiscernible flashes. The screen emits ambient light which can be seen by humans, animals, bugs... It is worse if you wear eyeglasses. This can give you temporary night blindness. There are numerous ways to deal with this, but be aware. This thing uses x8 AA batteries, and unless you know your stuff, you probably want to stick with high-quality name brand alkaline cells. Most people who complain about battery usage are cheaping out on the quality of batteries they use. It would be nice if the USB Micro-B port could power the unit or at least top off rechargeable batteries, but it's data only. Since these don't have lenses to speak of, the range is pretty terrible and the image gets really grainy. It's like zooming in on something far away with your phone. They do work great to watch animals destroying your back yard, especially if you set up another IR source outside. You can also see cameras and other night vision devices very easily. I wish the buttons were illuminated or a little more pronounced, because they are difficult to find and operate in the dark, especially with gloves. Prone to fogging up when it is cold, so try not to pant on the screen. Not perfect, but at this price point, I'm not complaining! ... show more

  • Very Nice!

Got them as a surprise for my husband’s birthday and he loves them! He’s so impressed of how well they work that he shows everyone …even my brother agrees.

  • Bought as a toy but was surprised.
Style: N10X24/960-BL
I bought these thinking I would play with them awhile and then give them to my grandkids to have fun pretending to be spies or whatever. I was pleasantly surprised at how good they worked. I took them outside at. Night with no moon to try them out. I turned them on and once I got the hang of focusing them, I could see my neighbor’s barn clearly and it is over 200 yards away. This was some toy! I took several pictures to try the camera out. The pictures came out clear and well defined. I accidentally snapped a picture of the night sky and it showed stars that I couldn’t see with my naked eyes. I shot a couple of videos and they came out great also. I had to learn how to adjust the IR to get the best results for the distance I was viewing, but, once I got the hang of it, it works great. These are not top tier night vision goggles, but for the price and quality, you won’t care. I recommend them as starter goggles or if you’re on a tight budget and want, or need, a good set of night vision goggles. Follow the instructions for care, cleaning, handling, and storage, and I believe you will be well pleased, as I am. ... show more

  • Works well for the 0rice.
Style: N10X24/960-BL
This is my first night vision system. I am very happy with the purchase. I can easily see 200 plus yards in total darkness with this. Now the display becomes somewhat pixelated at full magnification at night, but for the cost I will not complain. Worth the cost.

  • Amazing buy at this price point
Style: N731/640-BL
Night vision is by far better than I expected, it provides a surprisingly clear image even in complete darkness, unlike earlier night vision versions the gathered light for the night sky. It has two focal points, normal and a magnified zoom, I'm guessing like a 3x power possibly, maybe even a 5x. It's either normal or zoomed mode, no adjustment or in between, which seems fine so far. Seems to be fairly efficient as far as power goes, still on my first set of batteries in it. The only draw back I would say is in the viewing, actually looking through the unit. It is not like binoculars, where you are looking through an actual eyepiece or lens. It actually is done digitally I guess and it displays the image on a small screen, maybe 3.5" to 4.5" in size, about the size of an iPhone 6 I'd say. It's somewhat awkward dur to the fact that because of the focal point, at least for me, you are holding the unit around 8" to 10" out in front of your face. This makes viewing on the move difficult, at best, but again, for the price point, it's pretty impressive ... show more

I bought this because of all the great reviews and I wanted something I could use with my 4 year old to stay up late and watch the deer and other animals at night. Was excited that it only required 8 AA batteries. Put the batteries in and nothing happened. Finally plugged the usb in to charge and had to hold the plug in because it wouldn’t stay in. Didn’t seem to be the right size but it is. Was able to use it briefly and was pretty satisfied with the clarity of what I could see in the dark. But as soon as I let go of the cord, that was the end of that. So why didn’t this work just with the batteries? Also, there was no SD card as advertised. My guess is that someone used and abused this this and returned it so some unlucky person could get excited and wait a day or two for it to be delivered only to find that it doesn’t really work. Lucky me. I’ll be returning. I might reorder. ... show more
