  • Finally, something that respects my hair
Size: 17 Fl Oz (Pack of 1)
I've tried everything—from trendy "bond builders" to overhyped clean brands that made my fine hair fall out—and this is the first conditioner that actually helped my hair feel like mine again. The texture is rich, but not heavy. I apply it only from mid-length to ends, and even with daily use, it doesn't leave buildup or make my hair limp. It pairs beautifully with a lightweight shampoo, and I've even started reverse washing with it (conditioner first, then shampoo)—which has been a game changer. The best part? My breakage has slowed, my drain is no longer full of hair, and I’m finally starting to see strength and softness return. It doesn’t try to be trendy—it just works. If you’re recovering from damage, stress, or product overload—and you want something real, restorative, and respectful—this is it. But it’s worth every drop when your hair needs healing, not hype. ... show more

  • Need a lot of product for coverage of 2b/c highlighted course hair
Size: 2 Fl Oz (Pack of 1)
The Pros: I got this and the matching shampoo in travel sizes as a treat. It made my hair noticeably more shiny, bouncy, and generally healthier looking (with a light blow-out, given the chilly weather). So, the product delivered for my hair type. The Considerations: For my course hair, I needed to use a LOT of the conditioner to get adequate coverage. The four-star rating reflects a deduction for the cost, which is greater than what I want to spend on my go-to shampoo and condition. I'll keep this in my every now-and-again lineup. ... show more

  • Avoid At All Costs Unless You Want to Further Damage Your Hair
Size: 17 Fl Oz (Pack of 1)
I started using the Recovery Shampoo and Conditioner about 3 years ago. My hair felt softer when wet and was easy to comb through. So, I thought this meant that it was repairing the damage. Wrong! I started to notice that my hair was breaking off more after about 6 months. Then it became brittle and I lost all the elasticity. I never thought it had anything to do with these products because of how soft my hair was when wet and the ease of combing through it. However, it just became more and more frizzy, brittle, snapping off, split ends galore. Turns out, these products caused SIGNIFICANT protein overload, but due to something in the products coating my hair, it was hiding the damage it was causing. Now, my hair is so far gone with protein overload that it’s probably going to take a year to repair and I’m praying I don’t have to cut it off. I just had to spend hundreds of dollars on products to start correcting what’s been done. I’m furious with the brand not warning that these products are not meant for long term, but instead make it seem like an ongoing answer to prayers. I feel duped, especially after the staggering amount of money I’ve paid them to ruin my hair. I wasn’t even aware of the amount of protein in these nor was I aware that it’s possible to overload your hair with it. The fact that the other ingredients hide what it’s doing so well makes me so angry. I turned to these products in desperation to save my hair and now it’s worse than when I started using them. They may be good for short term or occasional use, but don’t buy these for your normal hair routine. I specifically saw advertisements with Jennifer Garner going through her daily routine with the Recovery system specifically. It’s incredibly misleading, so don’t buy into the hype. Turns out that many people also aren’t finding out what’s been done to their hair from these products until it’s too late. However, you won’t see it without some research. Used to love these and now they’re one of my biggest regrets. ... show more

  • Too rich for my hair but has a lovely scent and Virtue shampoo is great!
Size: 2 Fl Oz (Pack of 1)
Lately, I've found that most of the shampoo and conditioners I used to love and did a lot for my hair, are no longer available. If I'm being honest, usually when I love a product, it doesn't seem to stay on the market for very long. So, I've been searching for a new shampoo and conditioner of good quality that really helps my hair look as good as my past favorites used to. It's been a challenge especially since I'm over 40 years old now and my hair has changed in many ways. I have seen Virtue products "around" in various places online so I decided to do some research on them. Given that it is a fairly pricey brand, I didn't want to purchase an enitire 8oz and find out that I didn't like it so I was pleased to see that there was a small kit which featured 2oz of their shampoo, conditioner and minoxidil (which I've found out I can't use because it causes my blood pressure to drop because it's a vasodilator and I already have slightly low blood pressure). The shampoo has a very pleasant, light scent that isn't offensive or perfumey. It foams up well and really made my hair feel clean without drying it out. The conditioner was a bit too heavy for my hair, which I never thought I'd say about a conditioner. When trying the two in combination, the hair at my scalp looked a bit drab and heavy. However, everyone's hair texture and quality is different so if one person has a dry scalp and dry hair, this conditioner might be just what you need but for me it was too rich. Then I tried using the shampoo with a different conditioner and it left my hair looking voluminous, clean and shiny. I am happy with the shampoo but might try a different conditioner from Virtue since this particular type didn't do well for my hair. ... show more
