I seen the mixed reviews about this bed holding up to weight and decided to give it a chance. We have a 14 inch mattress and a 2 inch pillow topper. We needed something that was low profile so we didn't have to use a ladder to get into bed. The frame was really easy to put together and I was able to assemble it myself. The slates are not one giant one across the frame but one for each side. Having a 14 inch mattress is already a lot of weight by itself but to help our bed without having a box spring we put a piece of plywood down first. I had covered the frame in a fitted sheet so you don't see how low it is to the ground. I'm not a small woman and my husband isn't small as well. The frame holds us with no issues. We haven't heard it squeak or make any kind of noises at all. I'm a toss and turn kind of sleeper and I haven't had any issues with the bed not holding up. Even without putting a fitted sheet on the frame it had a great appearance for the color that it was. I didn't see any chipping of paint or anything.

Great basic frame. Enough slats to provide only 6" between; supports a top mattress really well with no box spring. The provided mattress "stops" work well and keep mattress from slipping from frame. In fact, have a. 5-year old model with recessed well to capture the mattress and it makes it difficult if I need to shift the mattress to change the sheets; especially with a full size pushed up to the wall. So with the "stops" I can remove the outer one, shift the mattress towards me away from the wall to change the fitted sheet more easily. Good value for the price.

Overall, great design, easy to put together, sturdy, and normally WOULD enthusiastically recommend this to someone that's looking for a simple sturdy low profile bedframe that one person can put together or take down and transport easily. All of which is important. The feet for the bed on the foot side are... quarter circles. Sure it's great that the rounded edge is facing out but you're still going to smash your foot on the flat edge or corner quite often. Okay, somewhat fixing the problem by wrapping the foot with foam but just mind-boggling that an otherwise fantastic bed like this would have such a painful oversight.

Always order to what your mattress size is and you can't go wrong on the size of the mattress and fit of this bedframe. It's a simple and clean operation to set up, and will stay quiet and have no creaks or noise. Solid as a rock, it never feels shaky or unstable and I'm a big guy to be jumping onto this bed. Frame looks slick and clean in any bedroom setting and leaves plenty of room to customize. Best part is the clearance support gives you plenty of under the bed storage to help reclaim your room and not feel so cluttered. 16 inches can be a bit much but 12 inch clearance is great for most guitar cases.
