I love this bench! I needed something that would fit in a smaller place, hold storage and look decent. I didn’t want to get one of those plastic benches, thought might look tacky in the front walk. This was perfect, it’s made from real wood, not particle board like most ‘wood’ products. The wood is soft so careful with the drill! You can see in my 2nd pic what happens when you drill to hard or miss.. The bench top did want to lean to the right when drilling the hinges, but keeping the other review in mind I pushed it to the left when drilling and I don’t have any issues with the top rubbing against the bench arm when opening it. It does take an extra yank to open, but overall it’s a great buy.

Easy to put together, except for figuring out how to fit the bottom pieces in. The seat slightly rubs against the right arm piece when it's being opened up, but it still works well. The seat stays up until you put it down, which is a nice safety feature. The back has a slight slant, making it comfortable to lean against when sitting on the bench.

Pros: It's a cute design and looks nice. The quality is ok. The price is great. You can sit on it and it has good storage. All screws are Phillips head. Not a single hex!! Cons: The wood is flexible when my husband sits on it. He's 170#, so I wouldn't put much more than that. The seat opens 3/4 of the way. It stops when it hits the backrest. The directions are terrible. No words, just very vague photos. I figured it out but I must have put the lift mechanism on backwards because I had to literally rip it open. Luckily the screws are teeny-tiny so not much damage was done. It doesn't seem very weather resistant so I'll spray it. The smell of whatever it was sprayed with was bad. I had to assemble it outside.

The set up was painless for the most part because it has quality hardware and all the pieces and holes lined up. Took one person 20 minutes. The only hang up was having to redo the placement of the piece that holds up the seat. Once that was in a good spot the seat/lid would close and it’s been great! Sturdy and smells great

Genuine, wooden bench, seems pretty sturdy and easy to assemble. Just be aware this is a smaller size bench. Sit lower than a regular size bench. You probably will have to stain it if you keep it out door. Great Bench, I like it.

This is real and beautiful wood. It had what looked like metal debris all over so make sure you don't have kids or pets around while putting together. There were at least 6 places that didn't have the holes drilled. I have a drill that I don't wth I'm doing with but I figured it out lol. I also used my own philips and a wrench to tighten the nuts. Its very sturdy. I couldn't figure out the lid attachment. I moved it to a lower place so it would close. It really needs some kind of washer thingy. I imagine that the lid attacher thing will break. Its very spacious. I'm 5'3, plenty of room for 2 people. I am using it for a breakfast nook!

This serves our purpose of you storage with some additional seating. I don't know if I would sit on it an di weigh about 260. The kids sit on it all the time. Good value for the money but expect it won't be perfect
