I bought this because I didn’t want to spend big bucks on a keurig. This is a great unit and makes a good cup of coffee. That’s all I required. You have to add water for each cup but you have to pretty much do the same with the Keurig. It works with the store bought K cups or with your own coffee.     • A real Problem with This Coffeemaker

When I opened this coffeemaker up there was an awful chemical, plastic smell. I followed the direction of running water through it to clean it out. I did it 3 times before making my first cup of coffee. When finished I noticed the awful smell had not diminished and you could taste it in the coffee. Even after brewing a cup of coffee the smell was still there. Another 12 times of running water through it with 3 of those times using vinegar and additional 2 more cups of coffee and although the smell diminished somewhat, it was still there and still affected to taste of the coffee. It is a most foul and disgusting smell of a chemical plastic small. Let me switch one minute to how the coffeemaker works. I bought it because of the automatic shut-off which worked great. The basket that holds the coffee grounds is flimsy and I expected the plastic that works a hinge you can expect to break off but that should not affect the use of it You can use this either way with Keruig cups or putting in your own brand of coffee. None of these were a deal breaker. I liked the coffeemakers design and could live with the small problems I saw. I would like to think I got that one of a kind, that product from hell that came off of a bad run so I'm not telling you not to buy it. If you open yours up and it has that nauseating chemical plastic smell pack it up and send it back. I packed mine up and sent it back but in my ballgame one strike and your out! So I have read reviews on here regarding this product and it having issues and failing after using it for a bit.. Yes it will eventually fail, mine did "BUT" I cleaned it and its like new again.. the down side to cleaning it? you really have to clean it, all of it, Meaning you have to make sure you take apart the tank components and flush them, flush the tank and wipe it clean, use a screw driver and take apart the little valve and the little hoses.. there's a screen that filters the water as it gets pulled into the tank to heat it and its a pain in the ass to remove and put back in.. the solution was to use a pair of needle nose pliers to be able to grasp it remove it clean it and place it back in its little slot.. after taking it apart, cleaning it and reassembling it? It worked like new. what was clogging it? grounds from the cups, over time sediment from the cups gets blown back into the water tank and the finer stuff makes it into the valves and will back up the system and make the pot noisy and malfunction. I had steam billowing out of the top of mine and tried a basic cleaning and it didn't fix it.. so I took it apart and cleaned EVERYTHING and... it worked like new and still works great.. for the price i'm ok with it.. I would imagine that this would be even more of an issue if you have hard water BUT running vinegar through it periodically should take care of hard water scale ya? I still recommend it as a good bye BUT bring tools.. i do all of my own mechanical and service my own vehicles from oil changes to engine swaps so fixing this coffee maker was no big deal but do you want to purchase and then have to rebuild your coffee maker every few weeks? most people would probably throw it away.. still, when it works? makes a mean cup of coffee fast.. I like it for that and am "OK" with my purchase. ... show more

i bought this particular one because my nephew gave me an older similar model i used in my teardrop travel trailer. when this coffeemaker arrived i was so happy! i was even more impressed with this product! i am a coffee holic to say the least and needed to test the brew right away as soon as it was washed. this awesome coffeemaker makes the best and hotest coffee! hands down better than the expensive "K" maker . ive only used around 8-10 oz of water per cup and thats enough for me . ive used it with coffee pods ( ive read some people have issues with using pods ? in all honesty i have never ever had an issue with using pods ) also ive used the reusable pod both were fine. i like my coffee very strong and the color of my brew was fine. i love this maker because it doesn't take up much realestate in my camper and i love the coffee it brews❤️ i highly recommend it. it is worth every single penny . ... show more

I bought this on May26, 2023 and it was everything the reviews indicated….until three days ago. It began taking longer to brew one pod, started smelling like burnt coffee, and this morning, made loud, churning sounds signaling its last breaths. This coffee maker was 5 stars, but now I have to deduct 3 stars because it apparently is not built to last brewing only 1 cup per day for a little over 4 months. At this rate, if I have to buy 3 of these per year (would be around $120/year), then I might as well purchase the deluxe Keurig and not have to worry about replacing it. I’m disappointed, because otherwise this little machine lived up to the hype. Edited to add: Customer Service reached out to me and offered to make this right; either by replacement or refund. They were concerned about the product and maintaining quality which is so refreshing! That level of concern is rare and I would buy from this company again! ... show more
