  • works with the BMPCC 4k
Works well with tge BMPCC 4k. If you can’t get a solid focus, spin the glass element inside and it should help. There are videos on YouTube that show you the way. Much better value than the Metabones, especially till they come out with a specific product for the pocket cinema camera.

  • No more metabones.
This is great, it works fine with my GH4 and the Sigma 18-35mm. Autofocus is definitely a problem but if you are doing video production more than photography, this is for you.

  • Worth the money
It’s real value for money and the delivery was faster than other product I’ve ordered here to South Africa. You won’t have auto focus with this but works like a dream on my bmpcc4k with the 50mm 1.4 giving me an f stop of 1 :)

  • Good adapter, FREEZING is a deal breaker though.
I was very pleased with this at first. The Image is very good, comparable to Metabones i would say. As far as auto focus, it's really no good. I didn't expect it to be though, so it's not a deal breaker since i do video and don't use a lot of auto focus. Having control over the aperture in camera is a very nice addition as well. The main deal breaker is that the adapter causes the camera to freeze to the point where you have to take the battery out to reset it. It's a real pain when you're in the middle of a shot, or pulling focus, or just scrolling through clips and the camera freezes. You're back up and running relatively fast, but for someone like me who shoots weddings occasionally, having the camera freeze at a crucial moment is not something i can afford to happen. If I go back to micro 4/3 and this problem is fixed with a firmware update in the future, i would wholeheartedly purchase this again, but for now, the freezing is a major deal breaker. ... show more

  • Worked very well!
I was definitely impressed! I tested it on GH5 using the following lenses: 16-35mm Mk III, 24-70mm Mk II, 35 Mk II 1.4, 50 1.8 and 24-105mm Mk I and they all worked surprisedly well! My co-workers who are also professional video producers were also very impressed! That extra full stop of light is going to really come in handy in low light settings! Awesome value for the money! I plan to buy another for my B cam. Definitely recommend it! ... show more

  • Wanted to like it so badly, because I hate overpriced Metabones so much. But, fail
I'd been looking forward to getting this for a long time, and when it finally arrived there was a short period of excitement that I'd finally found a viable Metabones killer. It seems to be made fairly well and it initially worked great with my Canon 16-35/2.8 and 50/1.4 lenses on a GH5s. Tested focus response in video mode, it was passable but not perfect - definitely not hitting the right focus mark at least 25% of the time. Then I switched over to photo mode, and everything went downhill. Was focusing on an object at the close end of my 50mm minimum focus range, and the camera just seized up. Everything completely frozen in the viewfinder. Turned the camera off - and everything still stayed there! Had to remove battery to reset camera. This was the beginning of when I realized my search for a viable Metabones alternative will continue. The lockup problem happened 3 more times in the space of about 10 minutes. PROS: Price CONS: GH5s with Canon lenses seizes up when using this. Terrible location of release button - if you have large fingers, forget it Focus speed and accuracy not up to Metabones at all (though better than Kipon Baveyes) Optically not as good as Metabones Ultra I have to agree with an earlier review that says this thing is OK for someone just walking around taking pics for fun, but it's unfortunately NOT something you can rely on if you need professional results. ... show more
