I've been using this with the Canon EOS RP and it has been working fine for the most part. Lens mount feels stable, have had no connection issues, and feels reliable. Have not been able to use the control ring. And for some reason, while using the Canon 24-105mm lens on 24mm, I got heavy vignetting, like a old school fish eye effect, even though that lens is full frame and shouldn't be cropped.

It works fine as an EF/EFS to RF adapter, but the control ring, which is the point of this product, doesn't do anything on the R7. I have lenses on the list that it's supposed to work with, and they don't. I have updated to the latest firmware as of July 2022. For now, I'll use it as an adapter, maybe they'll fix the control ring issue in firmware. If they do, I'll come back and update the review.

I own the canon brand control ring adapter but I needed to adapt EF glass to a second RF camera for a project, and the canon brand was sold out so I gave this a try thinking “eh, it’s just one project. Who cares if it ends up sucking...” Well it did end up sucking. When I first installed it everything seemed to work fine, but a minute later the ring wasn’t working. The feel of the ring turning has an inconsistent resistance so I thought maybe the actual ring had slipped loose from an inner ring to which it may have been mounted. A minute later the ring worked again. The handful of times I’ve used it, the ring worked intermittently. The focus hasn’t cut out, so if it’s a communication (to the body) issue with the ring, at least is hasn’t seemed to effect focus. Both the side meeting the lens and the side meeting the body have a lot of play and you get some wiggling, this makes the whole setup feel very fragile. I used it with a sigma 105mm F1.4 Art lens on an EOS R5 body— how do you make a $5,600 setup feel cheap? You use this adapter. I would say, do not buy this thing unless there isn’t any other option.
