I love this lens! The Viltrox 14mm F4 0 for Nikon's Z series cameras is very sharp, light weight and quite durable. I expected this lens to exhibit plenty of distortion without extreme care while composing your shot. This is not the case, distortion is minimal. This lens also has fast and accurate auto-focus! I didn't mention it's extreme close focus and without Distortion. The Viltrox 14mm F4.0 Z lens brings quality and great value at a price of $199.00! You won't be disappointed. ... show more

This lens is small, light and inexpensive but is it any good? You bet your a#s! Sharpness at the center was excellent already at the widest aperture f4.0. Corners suffered a little bit from vignetting and chromatic aberration while sharpness remained good. Stopping down to f5.6 improved things to very good levels. Distortions at the edges and corners could be because the shooting distance was near the minimum focusing distance due to my chart being not very large. As you can see in the shot of my living room, none of the flaws showed up (shot at f8.0 from normal distance). All shots were taken with my Sony A7R II which has a resolution of 42MP but this budget lens kept up very well and the Kenko MC 58mm UV filter I put on the lens did not cause any dark corners. Does this lens perform as well as my 9 times more expensive legendary Nikon AF-S 14-24mm f2.8G lens at 14mm? Not really but consider the price, size, weight and the ability to use filters, I wouldn't hesitate to use it for all occasions. ... show more

Very well built and so compact super wide 14mm lens. Much wider than my Viltrox 20mm F2.8, nice color rendering, flare is minimal, great sun star at F16, good foreground blur at F4 for some landscape photography. Testing the close up focusing, ended up a very sharp object with great foreground blur. Love the light weight of this compact lens. ... show more

I have wanted a wide angle lens. But did not want to pay more than $900+ for one. After seeing reviews about this lens on you tube and its compatibility with my Sony E-mount. I decided to buy it. I am NOT disappointed. F4 is not a very fast lens (as in two of these photos), but when the light is low I just put it on a tripod and get excellent results. This lens is extremely lightweight and it is NOT weather sealed. So I am careful how I handle it and in which weather conditions.
