I tried this type of support once before, and it only caused me pain. Now, I've come to appreciate what this clever little device does. Initially, I used one of these braces (a different brand) right after I tore my Achilles tendon. That was dumb on my part, and I guess I deserved the pain that accompanied that decision. However, now I see that this really does have a very positive effect. Now, several months into the recovery process-- which is long, and requires a lot of patience-- it's really helping me. That additional support that this gel based device provides gives me more stability, and thus more confidence to walk, unassisted. It feels good when I put it on, and the fact that it moves the tendon forward, and takes some of the stress off of it, is quite helpful. I really feel more confident when I use it. This secures with velcro, and is basically a strap that passes through itself. The gel insert is shaped like a Tootsie Roll, and sits against the Achilles' tendon. In the past several months I've tried all sorts of ankle braces and devices, and this is the one that works for me. It's inexpensive, and right now Amazon has a great money savings coupon listed, as well. A very effective little device, at a very attractive little price.

Works decent to help with Achilles problem but it’s really bulky so you have a hard time wearing it under your pasts leg. Gets the job done but it’s very obvious you’re wearing something, so I stick to wearing it at home.

I found about how applying wrap during a marathon. I somehow got hurt and ended up with tendonitis that lasted a few weeks. I still slowly walked for daily exercise. A PT told me to wrap that area with covac (stretch) bandage after I put a sock on, as a test. That helped. Then realized I should keep a proper strap handy. I like this brace that also has gel cushioning. Bracing that area helps with long walks, hiking, and running. Although I practice a lot before a marathon, during that short period of time I always use a strap/brace as to not end up with tendonitis again at the wrong time. I like this brace. It is simple to use. Price is good. Glad I purchased it.

Vigorwise Achilles Tendonitis Brace I got this brace to help in preventing me from twisting my foot into a painful position while I slept and it has been working quite well. The brace is easy to put on and adjustable with a velcro strap. The material is light weight and breathable so it did not pose any difficulty in getting used to. For the price point and the effectiveness thus far it has been a good solution to my problem.

Wore this at night and in the mornings during stretching for a while because of a sore achilles tendon - in addition to taking some magnesium for cramps and muscle soreness. Not sure which of these things helped most, but this was a nice feeling little helping hand. Has a soft ridge on one side to press against the back of the calf and give a bit of pressure - nothing too hard, just a gentle reinforcement. Affixes very well with a loop and two velcro surfaces that keep it from falling off. Soft neoprene-feeling fabric. Can wear it underneath pants without it being apparent, and stays in place while doing heel stretches and other exercises.

Yes, this fully adjustable brace works great for tendonitis in the ankle. But like many other braces I own, it also doubles as a forearm brace for "tennis elbow" Having a velcro tab at each end holds it very securely in the desired location.

Achilles Tendonitis Brace is easy to put on and take off without removing shoes, etc. I am a huge fan of compression socks, but this is so much easier to use and provide support to the tendon. I like this.
