I ended up buying a record platter (not sure of the correct terminology) to help with the sound because I had read about the sound not being clear or the needle needing some weight on it. Anyway, the platter does help. It looks nice and I like that I can take it to my grandmas house to listen to some records from her days. If you’re looking for something simple and don’t need the sound to be heard from a mile away, this is a great buy. It helps to have the platter thing for a more crisp sound. I recently came into possession of my late grandmother’s 78rpm 10” shellac records from 1930-1960. I didn’t have a record player and didn’t want to spend a fortune on one, not did I want something that would need to take up space. This thing is perfect. i got it as a christmas gift for my bf. i think it's great. the size and look is perfect for any location and setting. it's not too heavy either. the sound quality is pretty decent for the price so can't complain there, loud enough to fill a large/ couple of rooms. very easy to use and learn coming from someone with no prior use or knowledge. the quality makes it look way more expensive than it really is and i think it has a timeless look. definitely recommend. ... show more

Okay, this is super cute. It’s small (only 13” wide). But a 12” vinyl does fit when the top is open. It comes with a 45 adapter. Bluetooth works great. But the speakers suck. The holidays are coming up and one of the parties I will be hosting is 'Rock N' Roll Roots'. What better way than to spin some vinyl? I wanted a portable player than has a certain fondness to it BUT will be gentle on the records. I also wanted some new gadgets like blue tooth and connectivity. OK. Read the manual and played with all the buttons. A decent enough build for the money. We need power! So what we have here is a cheap wall wart with appropriate power plug. Hopefully the platter's RPM stays consistent. What shall we listen to? How about 'The Beatles'? YES! First I played Please Please Me 33 1/3 RPM. Volume half way. Tracked the whole side with no skips. Cool. I'll need to check tone arm weight later and see how many grams it's putting on the needle. Second let's spin up a 45 RPM. Middle slider switch half way for 45, volume middle. Let her rip! No skips, jumps and the volume is decent in a quiet environment. Grade: A- Supplying power at parties and such might prove a challenge. This appears to be a rugged little suitcase record player. Pretty decent connectivity options. If you want it LOUD then it's one of those 'Bring Your Own Bluetooth Speakers' parties. I'm very satisfied with this purchase. Worked flawlessly out of the box. I'll be DJing in my socks and rockin' out to ROCK N' Victrola! Update: OK it bugged me that sitting the record player down on the connections could cause damage, so I bought some bumper feet. Works Great! The player sits flat and has protection. It doesn't subtract from the aesthetics since the bumpers are on the back hinges. ... show more
